BASEBALL: Whitmer High School graduate Ryan Domschot, who is a sophomore pitcher at Adrian College, was named a first-team All-American last week.
Domschot is the first Adrian College player to be named to the first team by d3baseball.com.
Domschot was a dominant left hander all season and set a school record with 10 wins. His 83 strikeouts ranked third most in a season at Adrian College
He began the season 8-0 with a 1.63 earned run average. In 11 of 13 starts, Domschot allowed two earned runs or fewer. He struck out eight or more hitters in four starts.
For the season, he threw 75 innings and allowed just 16 extra-base hits.
In his two-year career, Domschot has thrown 107 innings and struck out 121 batters.
He finished the season with a 10-2 record and posted a 2.64 ERA, which was seventh-best in a season for the Bulldogs.
