For the Selects U-17s, their shocking upset of the Thunder leaves them wondering where this wild ride ends.
Manager Bob Marchand candidly admits he has no idea what his team might be capable of pulling off this weekend.
"We're the Cinderella team in the tournament," Marchand said. "Anything can happen in a seven-inning game as it did against Tecumseh.
"I don't know what effect that'll have on our team. I'm eager to see for myself Friday."
However, the U-17s have picked a good time to be playing their best ball this summer. They'll open their tournament at 3:15 p.m. versus Mississauga North at Woodslee.
"We've played decent ball for three or four weeks," Marchand said. "If our pitching holds up and we play defence, we're going to be able to scratch out three or four runs a game."
Carrying the mail on the mound will be Bob St. Pierre, Ryan Soulliere, Josh Burns and Derek Emery.
"I don't know what our expectations are, but I hope we can keep playing well and see what happens," Marchand said.
