From humble beginnings back in the early daysof our school's history to the present time, Mustang athletic teams have grown to become regional and statewide contenders in all sports. At present our school boasts Twenty (20) State Championships, eightteen of which have been since 1997.
We have produced Katie Schwegmann, Kentucky's Miss Basketball (2001), ann All "A" State Championship Girls Basketball Team (1999), a Boys Basketball All "A" State Runnerup Team (2004), Boys Cross Country State Championships in 1972, 1984, 1991, 1992, 1997, 1999, and 2001. Girls Track has won state titles in1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Girls Softball took the State Championship in 1998, Cheerleading won the All "A" State Title in 1998 and last year our Boys Soccer Team also won the All "A" State Championship.
Bishop Brossart offers athletic opportunities in Boys and Girls Basketball at the Varsity, JV and Freshmen levels, Boys baseball at all three levels, and Girls Fast Pitch Softball at all three levels.
We also offer Boys and Girls Soccer and Girls Volleyball at all three levels, as well as Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys and Girls Track, Boys and Girls Golf, Co-Ed Bowling, and Cheerleading which is hoping to become Co-Ed as well.
Our newest sport is Football and in 2007 will offer Varsity Football for the first time. Beechwood, Dayton, Bellevue, Ludlow and a few of the smaller shcools are trying to form a new concept Freshmen-Sophomore Team League as well in whcih teams would be comprosed of freshmen and sophomores.
An extremely high percentage of our student athletes (last year 74%) are also honor students in the classroom and Academic All State Selections (3.75 or better GPA).
We are members of the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference (NKAC) (Division II, which affords and provides guaranteed quality competition among schools from here in Northern Kentucky.
