CAN NON-INDIANS JOIN?

Yes! Canadians are known worldwide as friendly people who value honesty, empathy and humility in their relationships. They respect both the privacy and individualism of others. We chose Canada as our home over the other developed countries because of the safety and security, but what attracts more is the broadminded and welcoming nature of Canadians. Immigrants in Canada do not fear racism; their pleasant and friendly smiles give a special warmth in this cold place. We the Indo-Canadian Society of Saint John are pleased to welcome all our Canadian friends to join us and experience the joy and fun in our festivals. Our celebrations are not complete without you all. We expect your great participation in all our events.

As Immigrants in Canada, we enjoy free Healthcare, School and most importantly the safety and freedom for women. Despite the luxury Canada gives us, there is something which each and every Indian miss deep inside, their Heart, It's our Indian crowd, Indian weddings, Culture, Customs and Traditions. Wherever we go our heart still beats for our childhood home 'INDIA'.

The social gathering in India where every family members, friends and relatives come together makes life much more richer and rewarding. It gives a powerful affirmation of our roots and identity. Though we all have our own reasons to stay here, the complexity of what we enjoy across culture intrigues the future generation.

Every Indian parent who are immigrants here are little hesitant to totally leave their kids westernized. Will they have at least a glimpse of our culture? The answer remains uncertain. Every parent wants their kid to get exposed to the Indian tradition. We would love to say that our Indo-Canadian Society of Saint John would be a perfect platform for it. This helps every Indian to stay under one roof as an INDIAN, irrespective of the religion and region. It is a platform to establish and protect our identity in a new country. Staying here gives us a personal space and a genuine satisfaction and joy of celebrating our festivals.
