HomeTeamsONLINE Press Release
HomeTeamsONLINE Among Top Ranked Online Sports Website Builders
September 23, 2008
HomeTeamsOnline.com, the popular sports website builder for teams and leagues, has rapidly risen to one of the top most visited sites according to the Alexa Web Information Service (Website www.alexa.com). Alexa data shows the HomeTeamsOnline.com traffic rank has jumped to within the top 28,000 of all websites (as of September 15th, 2008), placing it among the top 3 ranking team website creation services.
According to company co-president David Schmitz, the growth is due to a number of factors. “The market for website tools for community sports organizations continues to show steady growth. Our customer base has grown more knowledgeable every year since we started HomeTeamsONLINE.com in 2002 – they know exactly the features they want before they even talk to us, and it’s our job to deliver, or they are ready to look elsewhere.” According to HomeTeamsONLINE, online registration forms, in-depth statistics, and template customization options are just a few examples of the features that a customer will expect.
So how has HomeTeamsONLINE.com managed to climb in the rankings? “That’s easy” says Mr. Schmitz, “Customer support. Since we started we knew that we wanted to have a strong support team. Too many Internet based companies have neglected support – our customers are often amazed that they can actually pick up the phone and talk to someone who can help them. Many of our customers say this is the main reason they are switching to our service.“
Ben Downey, the other co-president of HomeTeamsONLINE and head of online development, emphasizes how important it is to get feedback from customers to create a product that meets their expectations. “On our website and emails we say ‘We value your feedback’ and we absolutely mean that. Our product has evolved based on working with our customers."
Mr. Downey believes that the relationship with customers is the key to bringing them a product that matches their need. “I have no doubt our climb in the Web rankings comes from our support. The vast majority of our sales come from recommendations, referrals, and renewals, not from advertising. I can’t even imagine planning our software development without the direct feedback from our customers.”
The result is a product that is based on customer requests and suggestions - so far, as the climb in rankings shows, the approach has been successful.
