The Teams & Packages panel, often called the "Setup Tree," provides a comprehensive interface to manage your sports organization. Whether you're organizing leagues, creating divisions, or setting up individual teams, the Setup Tree ensures everything is structured logically. This tool also lets you choose package levels (ROOKIE, PRO-STYLE, ALL-STAR, CHAMPION) for each team or sport. Use the comparison cards below for package details.
| About Divisions & Sub-divisions |
- Divisions, Groups, etc.
Groups are a way of organizing your teams to help you represent how your organization is actually set up. The groups are not actual webpages, but will be used in the organizing of your website.
Teams that play each other should be placed in the same group. Teams that do not play each other (such as Varsity, JV, and Freshman high-school teams) should be placed in separate groups.
- b) Sports
Sports are actual websites that contain the teams for one particular sport. They are often used for leagues, however they might also contain the sites for several teams of one sport that play in different levels, like age, or different gender, or competing in many outside divisions or leagues. The key is that teams in an organization need to be contained within the correct sport, and you can't mix teams of different sports onto one "sport" site.
- c) Teams
Teams are also actual pages on your website. As mentioned under "Sports" they must be contained in the right sport site. Teams pages are actually viewable in two different ways. The reason for this is that many users will want to keep things very simple and only make changes on their main administration pages, or on one Sports site, and not have a home page for each and every team. In those cases you do not have to "create" a separate site (but you always have that option). The other situation is when you want each team to have a "stand-alone" website with a homepage, etc. You may also want to give the team it's own administration option. Either way, you can set up your teams the way that makes sense for your requirements, and you can mix and match.

| Managing Items in the Setup Tree |
|
Click on any item in the Setup Tree to access its management options. Depending on whether it's a team, division, or sport, you'll see different tools:
- Teams: Rename, move, reorder, or delete the team. You can also set abbreviations, create individual team sites, or manage package levels.
- Divisions: Add or manage teams under the division, rename, or move the division within the tree.
- Sports: Add divisions or teams under the sport, rename the sport, or set a package level for all teams within it.
Use these tools to ensure your organization reflects your league’s structure accurately.
|
| Inactive Teams |
|
The Inactive Teams option is ideal for leagues with rotating teams or teams that are temporarily not in use:
- Move a team to the "Inactive Teams" division to save its roster and details without including it in the package cost.
- While inactive, teams cannot be edited but can be reactivated when needed.
Tip: Use this feature to save money while retaining historical data and team setups for future seasons.
|
| Checkpoints: Save and Load |
|
Checkpoints allow you to save and share Setup Tree configurations without finalizing them. To use checkpoints:
- Store as Checkpoint: Save the current structure for review or later use.
- Load Checkpoint: Apply a saved structure to your Setup Tree.
This feature is perfect for collaboration, enabling support staff or league administrators to test different setups before making a purchase.
Note: You can save multiple checkpoints to explore various configurations for your league.
