Welcome back to E.I. baseball in 2021, the 51st year of the Paxton Swedes.  The Swedes will open the season May 23rd at Gifford against the Gif-Flats.  This season sees the return of one of the elite pitchers in E.I. history to the mound.  Adam Carver, the head baseball coach at Tuscola, will once again be the ace for the Swedes as they try to complete their return to relevance in the E.I. League.  Local fans should be excited to know that the team will feature the most players from Paxton in years.  There could be as many as 10 players this year either currently from Paxton or with Paxton ties.  Hopefully, this will spark interest with the fans and Sundays in Paxton will once again be exciting.  The team will also feature some other area players including, Lucas Kresin, a pitcher from Tuscola currently playing at the University of Illinois-Springfield.  Other area towns represented will be Milford, Oakwood, Wilmington, and Westville.  The roster has a few open spots remaining for the team to make a couple of additions as the season gets under way.   With the return of a handful of veterans and the new local additions, the Swedes hope to compete every Sunday and get back to the winning ways of old!!
