Saturday Night Fever sponsored by Kleenex
Gang Green was the first team to arrive last Sunday. Sanchez had his mates warming up stretching and preparing for a key battle against the Tide. Sanchez had issues with the pressure by Moss early on that I could attest to early on in my career. Sanchez could not find any chemistry with his receivers. TJ took charge screaming down the sidelines and hauling in a long TD to put the game away with a nice ball by Beef that set the tone for the rest of their morning stay at Joe Lawrence. Ray Ray led all receivers for the Green and was able to make paydirt late in the game in efforts to promote confidence for next week’s affair with the Warriors.
Predators lack lazy luster approach this week put them in a hole early on against the Squad. Fads had a short stint at QB and filled in at punter entered the records books a 1 yard punt. It was truly breathtaking to watch. Diamond was not at the helm to push the ball down the field Predator style. Squad took full advantage of the situation and surmounted a three possession lead just before halftime. Diamond arrived just before half and from that moment forward the team began to come back and took a better approach in the second half. MV J Robinson was a monster in the interior of the field and no matter how many guys tried to man handle him, he was too much and definitively demonstrated good hands in the clutch. Squad continues not to pressure the QB however which led the ability to Diamond and his offense to overcome the deficit and get back into a one possession affair. Predators began to reach for judgment as the game began to tighten. Kareem needed Kleenex to wipe off his tears after the head hatter advised him that the ball boy is not an extra player on the field. I did not respect this portion of the game at all and if it continues good luck with that…..
Overachievers rolled in expecting to get their offense back on track this season. Avg Joes had a bit of confidence in the matchup, since Blaine led the charge in their last matchup upsetting all critics. Sasso was heaving the pigskin to all his weapons. At times with the no look pass the OA system seems to be getting back on track. It’s all about completions those who want to see how its done please attend the next OA scrimmage…
Goonies had some old but new faces on their roster as Karreem began his gameplan at the Weiland residence Saturday night for the annual PPV flavor. What Karreem failed to do was attempt to suppress Tony’s wit by force feeding him fireball all night. Basically would have had a chance to win the game if that all took place. The fact that no one kept Jarvin home was another issue as he tore up the revamped Goonie secondary. Tony had one of his days as well with multiple TD performance scattering his stats amongst the receiver rotation. Back to the drawing board for the Goonies as they venture on understanding how to use their new weapons if they decide to show up this week. Not mentioning any names but season after season teams are getting plagued with ship jumpers. I don’t think One Eyed Willie would have done this would he???
Thunder came to the field with a dictated plan of attack against their former teammate Bruce and his invading Warrior Army. Warriors just have too many weapons to cover and were attacking without will. Thunder has failed to show an offensive identity while failing to take advantage of the newly acquired talent in the offseason. The season remains young at this juncture and improvement is a must if this team plans on taking a ride to the second round later this fall. Warriors seem to be on a mission of destruction of the BCFFL and demonstrated the all field dominance with the insertion of Drew Peterson in the offenses. On one Td timer in the end zone he made Lopez and Caleb feel juvenile with his upper body explosiveness to the ball. At my at this time is likely the highest ranked team in the league.

Crimson Tide that’s the name this season, the Oiler experiment ceased and interim general Manager Imran Huq vows to have a formidable roster. This season, a new element of contact has been added for those who have attended the meeting and didn’t know either way. Weekly MV, Snell was able to get a piece of a cadaver embedded in his knee structure and further advised to take a half of a half of a season off. In simple terms, on return from his injury, Snell Torched Thunder and looked dynamic in his route running with Beef putting it on him as well as he can. Thunder came out as if they were still in pre-season mode. If you figure not to water it down too much but this weekend nearly 2/3s of the League has shown similar as well. I expect the speed of the game will elevate as well as the Thunder and find ways to utilize Lance in their system earlier in the package and not in garbage time.
Shyron was able to lock down the Juice deal mid- summer after being burned in the Stone deal while barley losing to the Nomads in the playoff without a QB. Orange Vapor began to billow onto the field showing a full roster of faithfuls who were about to engage with the Squad who had their summer sleepy Junky stuck in their eye and didn’t want no part of the Vape. Juice was showing off his white Kurt Warner gloves and distributing the ball well to the deep roster. Turner imposed his will on the opportunity once again in finding a lock on a broken pass attempt deep in the red zone and picked off that same that changed the momentum of the game. He did the same thing again later in the game while Coalet aided a key drive off a turnover and was able to contribute on a dump-budunka dunk to the endzone. Put a Quarter in that machine for it runs out dam it…..Vape still his headless in upper management despite coming out of the shoot on top...Squad simply was not on beat enough to keep up with the veteran temp of Vapor. Its is more than likely that these two teams meet again in the playoffs and if Squad isn’t out ingesting the night before; look out!!.
Predators and Overachievers engaged in a defensive struggle with limited offensive production, which was just what the Predators were aiming for. Led by weekly MV Robinson Predators were able to limit the OA offense to one score. During the Predators OA game, some discussion broke out upon which application is utilized in a situation that occurs outside the scope of the rules. If a particular play/rule does not fall into the realm of our league rules. As stated within rules the NCAA application would take precedence. I would like to point out that the application of the NFL rules has no relevance to our flag football venue. Please do not use this application with your point of view because it absolutely does not hold much weight
Mark Sanchez finally was released by his NFL journey to return with his old mates at the Green camp. Hats off to Dr. Kimble for assembling his old teammates for a run. Stacey made his presence felt early hauling in reception deep into the secondary of the revamped Goonies squad who are attempting to defeat fate by discovering an identity. Karrem did his offseason prepartiaon with some key signings on both sides of the ball. Weekly MV Myron was brought back into the merger of Panthers and Goonies while sparkling in his debut spreading the ball well to all the weapons on the Goonies offense.
Warriors arrived in deep roster style, fitting black uniforms in numbers as if they were attempting to invade Poland. I assume someone forgot to inform the Short Bus was overloaded. In all actuality it didn’t really matter much, as to who Bruce had on his roster with the way BJ and him hooked up with multiple TDs. The combo regained immediate chemistry as if the two never departed ways from each other. Bruce dropped some nice balls on him while the Elite did not have an answer but yet admired that the Warriors for participating with polished recruitment skills. Even though the league allows for 12 per team.
On the other side of the field when I scheduled the game between the Dukes and Average Jaw Breakers I figured that the game would be a nice fresh start with two teams that would not break the silence at St Joe Lawrence. I was the furthest of being right as can be with that voucher. Since the onset of the league the BCFFL the worst these eyes have seen was when said person punted a ball and nearly hit a crowd of bystanders in total anger etc etc etc. Said individual was suspended moved on, and became a good asset to his team for years to come without further incident. We moved on far from that. I am grinding at the fact that we allowed for the contest to continue and if it happens again the venue and teams will be forfeited as well. If you don’t like the way things are handled you can relinquish your participation in this league as well. The League will not tolerate such selfish immature behavior in a public setting. If anyone disagrees or promotes the contrary of said decision of which is still being reviewed you will also be deemed as part of the problem and not the solution as we attempt to move into more positive light on this black eye.
Waste Management Advisory…
Garbage on the field was a disgrace last week to say the least. Poland spring was the drink of choice. Take you shit with you and please don’t litter on township fields. As reminded before and again, the last winning team of both fields is responsible for facilitating the cleanup. Also if your side of the field is littered with garbage prior to taking the field please kindly advise them to clean up after themselves. Starting this week if this shit does not stop, the appropriate fines and forfeitures will be applied as listed on the registration. I cannot take an extra half hour to hour cleaning up the filed each week.
BK
esting playoff. The goal for each team at this juncture should be that no matter what you want to be playing your best entering the playoffs.
The battle of the cellar dwellers took place in Hawks territory. It was the Seahawks versus the Blackhawks, winner will gain their first win of the season and and outside chance to make the playoffs. Unfortunately, the loser will be cemented into the basement floor of the BCFFL. Ott appeared at the helm for the Seahawks while the Blackhawks had a full squad for the first time in a few weeks. Indeed both of these franchises were hungry for a victory. Ott immediately made an impact spreading the ball around to Eifert,Cory and Myron each hauling in a TD reception while scoring in the thirties for the first time in franchise history. What a difference a QB makes. The Blackhawks on the other wing were putting up bigger numbers with Canulli and Smith, each having a pair of TDs to lead the attack. Boris and Ocasio each added a single TD and the Blackhawks also achieved a milestone scoring into the forties when in the past struggled to get on the board. It is fair to say that both of these teams are playing better now than they did back in March even though it still seems like March around deese Parts.. The Blackhawks had a little more offense in this crop duster. I didn’t see any champagne in the Blackhawks camp as they were advised to police the field for debris as all last game of the day winners do. As for the Seahawks the season is not over yet. Two matchups against similar teams for weeks 9 and ten. Time to build something positive for next season….
Teams in review sponsored by the Cellar Dwellers.
1. Overachievers- With recent wins over the Money Team and a decisive win over the Nukes the Overachievers are among the top 5 man teams in the area. Each week they seem to add a new wrinkle to the offense with their defense always keeping them in the game with a big turnover week in and week out. Going to be tough to beat this team no matter who they play.
2. Crimson Tide-Pat Miller has kept his core together and trimmed the fat. Stanley has been productive on both sides of the ball and applying a significant rush attack week after week. The Tide possesses one of the better QBs in the league in Beef and with stout defense especially keeping the Warriors to one score for most of the game, the Tide is in positon to post another Championship Title.
3. Warriors-On paper likely the most talented team in the area. On the field this team seems to be its own worst enemy. If something goes wrong offensively the Warriors begin to self-destruct. The offense has a bombs away attitude and Bruce without a memory when it comes to letting the ball fly. More often than not it seems that the long ball is not completed and turnovers become frequent for their opponents. If the Warriors tweak their concept of striking deep and just matriculate the field, a BCFFL Championship just may be obtainable.
4. Nukes- Ermi has his team playing well. The Overachievers last week know how to rush Ermi which proved in the convincing outcome. If Ermi can adjust his drop, possibly adding some 7 step drops to provide himself more time to scan the field, the Nukes may find themselves in a league of their own. A comfortable pocket is the key to this team’s success because they have shown the ability to score on anyone, just more consistency in tougher matchups.
5. Trojans-The Trojans have pulled away from the cellar dwelling teams. In the offseason they cut Freddie Cox and moved into a different direction. Shyron vowed this year to build a viable challenger. In recent weeks Braun has taken over the helm and really has been the engine in the offense. The Trojans rarely punt and seem to be in the redzone on every possession. With the crossover games looming, the Trojans will be able to gauge just where they are in the league over the course of the next few weeks. A huge matchup versus the Nukes and the winner really puts themselves in good shape to obtain the second seed.
6. Docs- Each week no matter who the opponent, Docs will create a dramatic contest with either a cellar dweller or a Championship Caliber team. Bob Sr. has been putting significant pressure on opposing QBs and at this point in the season has kept the team in games that they really shouldn’t be in. The Offense sputters a bit, but JW knows how to put game winning drives together with the best of them, hence making him the week 7 MV. Docs have been spoilers in the past and have outplayed better teams, making them a viable six rank at this juncture despite only having .500 record. Hector has been a key loss this season on both sides of the ball. Docs were able to fill in with some younger bucks to attempt to fill the void. Time will tell..
7. Action Park- Pat Adams has been grabbing all the footballs that he can handle, leading his team on a weekly basis. Key divisional wins over Thunder and barley losing to the upper ranked Nukes has put this team ahead of the pack. One weakness of this team is their defense. AP has not really possessed a pass rush since last season and puts a lot of onus Big Joe to produce a lot of TDs. You could rank this team higher, but we all agree that defense wins Championships and without a viable threat you are just mediocre.
8. Squad-Could, if not should be ranked higher. This team has been struggling with personnel that shows up late and looks hung-over more often than not. A talented group that seems to start off the wrong foot at times. However a big win over Docs in the final seconds puts the Squad in a position to have a formidable rank thus far when it comes to the playoff round. It the Bad weather games played, Blaine has proved that he does not bold well in those situations. At times this teams flirts with greatness, but their Achilles heel is dedication to the craft.
9. Goonies-For the first time in the Goonies history they have a formidable QB that has put them in a viable positon at this juncture of the season. Week 7 MV LJ has demonstrated that he can beat you with his arm and his legs. The two weaknesses is pass rush and offensive consistency. If the Goons work on these two approaches they can soar their ranking above the middle of the pack. Kareem’s offseason dedication to produce a winning product has finally panned out. The Goons are in route to put themselves in a favorable position come playoff time. This team once a bottom dweller has put their mark on the league this season, and the next.
10. Thunder-A rather low rank for a team that possessed a 3-0 start. However those wins came from none of the above teams and since that start plagued by injuries, the Thunder has dropped four straight contests. The Thunder possesses some of the best talent in the league and has competed against the Nukes in a loss and last week the Goons surpassed them convincingly. The loss likely dropped this team a few spots in the rankings.
11. Ducks-Possibly could be ranked higher but have to win some more games against the above ranked teams. A win over the Squad was big, but choked in the clutch against Docs in a situation that all they had to do offensively is run the clock out. Light years away from where the old Outlaws were at this juncture last season. The team praises Bob-O and his bombs when they are having a good game. Bobby Bombs sometimes goes to the well a bit too much instead of just taking what the defense gives them. One win can easily put this team a few ranks higher. The crossover matchups will really dictate just how this team secures a seed come week 10.
12. Dirty Birds-Were left for dead a few weeks back. Since their win over the Seahawks and their unified team picture, the birds had a taste of victory and have put them in a position to wind up with an above .500 record. Warner has seemed to find his nitch in the offense led by Caruso with Pallet making the big catch to continue drives. As always the birds lack a defense and really don’t like to pressure the QB. Even with a less then productive offense a good rusher could balance the game to put your team in a positon to win. The Birds have been on a Championship reign in the past. The remainder of the schedule seem positive for the Birds who could easily wind up 6-4 which at one point in the season seemed to be a far cry.
13. Cobras-Possess some of the best talent in the league. Early on personnel numbers were an issue and sometimes only arrived to the field with four players. Sweezy has kept things together though sometimes he is still on the bottle waking up late for games and coming to the field with crust present in his eye sockets. Other than that like the other teams above, the Cobras are a win away from putting themselves on course for a run. One negative this team has is they rely on the long ball that never gets hauled. The Cobras do not have the best hands when it comes to the deep pass, running into each other and not knowing where they are on the field seems to be the issue weekly. Keep it simple and the rest will fall into play.
14. Tribe-A different Tribe team from the clutches of Shamus and also are above the cellar dwelling tendencies. The Tribe are in a position to claim a playoff berth and with a few wins can enter the playoffs at this juncture with a seven seed. A major weakness on this team is lack of production on first down putting themselves in 3rd and unmanageable on most possessions. This team does rely on the big play and the escape-ability of Dillon has shown that he may be one of the fastest players in the league.
15. Blackhawks-Defense has been their strength. The Blackhawks defense knows how to hawk down a ball and demonstrated it last week with a pair of picks off Stone. If this team can somehow keep it simple on offense concentrate on making simple completions and let it roll, the Blackhawks will easily find themselves near .500.
16. Seahawks-Despite some of their players jumping ship and joining other teams which the league has begun investigating. Leone 510 has made it interesting for his team with some big plays offensively. Dr Kimble has been having the season of his life. Likely the two nicest people that we officiate. At one point of the season the Seahawks were able to compete with Ott at the helm, but since then has quit the team and put them into a quandary at that position. A win could really do something for this team. The Hawk-Bowl is the fourth leg of the day-Winner goes home with their first W and presumably very excited. The loser however will be in the same depths of the cellar dwellers.
Come on nice guys dont have to always finish last, Do they?
ITS DIVISIONAL MATCHUP ROUND!!!
BK
Week 6 Friday Night Lights is sponsored by Iran's Plutonium..
Blackhawks had their hands full of Tide this past week but managed a TD trio for the first time in this team’s young franchise. Not bad considering this is their first season and the Tide is considered one of the Top teams in the league. Tide’s WR, Karl led all receivers with three TDs and once the game was in the forties the Blackhawks really did not have a chance in this matchup. Words of encouragement can be found at looking at the turnaround the Ducks made this year. Last season for the Ducks mirrored the Blackhawks inaugural season. If you look at what a difference a season makes, in the Ducks case they are 3-3 and are setting themselves up for a good look for the first round seating. At this point last season the Ducks had a 0-6 record. Digesting that first season is a true task of really finding out who is on board with what seems to be an apparent sinking ship. Those who go down with the ship will really be grateful once the first win is accomplished.. Seahawks B-wary..
Bob Weiland aka BREATH, was showing off his all-star rushing style with 4 sacks on last week’s MV Braun. It was really encouraging seeing an old Dog chasing around these young bucks. However, it wasn’t enough as the Trojans continued to march down field putting over 30 points on the board for the third straight week. Braun added to his TD total this week and crossed pay dirt on his own volition busting through the stingy Docs defense which apparently had no answer for the Trojans offensive effort. Maybe next week pass the fireball around to the legals on the team..Kimo showed up this week and put his team in a good position with a TD score. In the end it was the Weiland boys who drew the most attention of the day, focusing on themselves and putting the game secondary. Truly the Docs way, cheers to that.. The honorable mention goes to Mrs. R Weiland for getting her boys in the carseat eventually retreating to their humble home for some Sunday afternoon Honey to Do List. Go get em boys!!
The Dirty Birds focused their efforts on the Seahawks this past week. The Seahawks have been trying to pull it together and finding out who they are. The western hawks are still in playoff contention as the crossover games are beginning next week, after moms day that is. Caruso added a pair of TDs to lead all receivers with Gabe and Warner each doing their part with a TD. Cory lead the charge for the Seahawks with Ray answering on his part, each with a TD that was just not enough this week even though their defense did their part keeping this contest to a two possession game. The Dirty Birds have gained some confidence in recent weeks, just in time for a playoff run and team picture (taken this past weekend). Birds on a two game win streak with no looking back from their nest..
Stone entered the game where he left off last weekend with a pick 6 thrown to Dillion who looked like a well determined madman dashing down the sidelines to paydirt. A sight to see indeed! Bruce quickly turned the tide from the last week hangover of last week’s performance. Weekly MV BJ did his part to support the cause this past Sunday, on both sides of the ball with a hat trick on offense and a pair of picks on D. Bruce had crossed paydirt on his own legs under the rubble, adding to the 8 TD total this past weekend. As for the Tribe, they were simply overmatched on the QB play. Lt. Feldman has not been distributing the ball well in recent weeks. This past Sunday the offense had 6 interceptions. On a positive note, Dillion has showed that he may be one of the most talented receivers in the league with the focus on his overall speed down the lane. You would like to see a guy like this get more touches. Heck what do I know anyway…
Bobs Os were thinking of obtaining a formidable seed for the playoff round. A win over Squad would be one of the one of the first major upsets thus far for the BCFFL. MV Josh Doan did the heavy offensively leading all receivers in yardage for the day and hauling in two early TDs that set the tone early and often for the Ducks. Tommy Gun and Zak did their part with a TD each to contribute to the offensive.
Squad was a bit lack luster after their landmark victory over the Claymore Champion Last week. Blaine and the gang struggled to get the offense fluent and it was not until the second half that the Squad got within a possession. Lee, young and Pickett each had a TD but no one really took control of making it easier for Blaine who needs more fluency within the offense. Squad had issues pressuring Bob O who has been sacked just as much as any other QB in the league thus far. The Ducks are now 3-3 and really eyeing the fourth seed in the division. A matchup versus Docs this week is key in their playoff quest.
Goonies and Overachievers took the first leg of competition. In short the Overachievers overmatched the underachieving Goons who look better than they are apparent. Sasso and Welch were way too much to handle as they both had a pair of TDs with Cory and KoJo contributing with a TD each. Hunter had the only Td in the first half and Kareem answered with some pride with a haul of his own. Though the Goons possess a QB with likely the strongest arm in the league, it is my belief that their offense is just moving about the gridiron without any plan or scheme. Play after play the Goons receivers are running pass routes vertical without balancing the zone defense with drags and in patterns. Next time you watch the Overachievers witness the simple play scheme that moves the chains with consistency. I can’t say it enough just make completions it’s a non-contact venue!
Thunder returned with their starting QB who had broken his throwing finger during a week 3 matchup. Thomas led the charge for Thunder with a deuce and Calib added a third Thunder TD to keep the game one possession game til the end of the second half. Rob Pelikan added Double Dribble with a pair of TDs to lead all receivers . Pelikan continues to dazzle leading the team and the league TDs, while on pace to break the record. The Nukes entered this matchup as the third undefeated team in the league and anticipated a dress rehearsal for next week’s contest versus the Overachievers. It was more than a dress rehearsal as the Thunder gave the Nukes all they can handle throughout the contest. The Nukes just had enough Plutonium in the end for Pelikan to put his team ahead. It’s not known how much Plutonium the Nukes have. It may be more than Iran. Don’t think the government cares at this point…just win baby..Blame the missing Putonium on Doc Brown, he already stole some from the Lybians..
Action Park and Cobras had the final leg of the morning/afternoon. Cobras have been playing better since they added a few souls to the cold blooded lineup. While the Park has been trying to shed its bad memories of the snake bitten performance which led to more unpredicted in the first few weeks. Interesting matchup because this will gauge just where these two teams are at this juncture in the season. Pat Adams with a hat trick that lead all receivers in this matchup. Robinson and Diamond were the only Cobras to score and it simply was not enough to bargain with because AP was moving the ball with consistency with Big Joe doing his thang spreading the ball around to all of his weapons. In the final two minutes of the game it was a one possession affair and the ball possession had swapped 3 times with no avail for the Cobras to cross paydirt. Hats off to the Parks Defense led by Alex and Adams who really put themselves in position to win week after week..
Week 5 Sponsored by Q-Bert.
Nukes took the early slot this week versus the Goons who had no sense of waking and baking on the offensive side of the ball. Apparently the Goons were not awake but got baked in the first half with 25 unanswered points by one of the league’s top offenses. Pelikan led the first half with 2 TDs with Dewey and Stewie each with a lone TD to end the half. In the second portion of the bake, it was the Laron Thomas show for the Goons who engaged in a triple threat of TDs. It just wasn’t enough for the Goons as Pickket 2 Tds and Pelikan (1) iced the deal and sent the Goons back this week in the loss column.
The Cobras arrived with 6 players this week for the first time all season. New acquisition Jay Fieros notched up two TDs in his debut for team Cobra. Sweezy got involved just before halftime with a TD reception while the Cobras quickly jelled with their new talent. Leone 510 managed to break out of the hole and haul in a TD in the second half to keep the defense honest. Lance had a pair of TDs with Keith Robinson keeping his TD streak alive as well. Ott was a no show for the Seahawks who could have likely utilized his talents this week. The Seahawks are approaching a more favorable portion of the schedule and should seize this opportunity to get the offense moving more efficiently. The Cobras have been able to add some talent to their skeletal crew. This may be just enough to threaten the league with a first round playoff win. Could this be the RISE of the Cobra? Time will tell.
It was the Schwag show indeed with the Quarterbackless Thunder team having to implement Krazed Kevin into the helm versus the incumbent champion Overachievers. Thunder was suffocating themselves on offense not having a viable quarterback. Just a few weeks back the Thunder was rolling with a 3-0 start and a quarterback that really seemed to be finding the zone. Since the injury to his throwing finger the team has not been the same. For the OA’s Kojo lead all receivers with two TD grabs with Wood, Welch and Sasso each with a TD. The Overachievers just are playing with too much confidence to destroy every team in their path. If Sasso keeps hauling in more one handers it may be a laugher all the way to the Championship Game.
With Action Parks overtime victory over the undefeated Thunder last week one would wonder if this team was going to get on a roll again. The D Birds had different thoughts and needed a win badly this week to stay in playoff contention. All I heard was Kurt Warner yelling that’s what I’m talking about! I haven’t heard him say that since the last time he helped a team take charge as member of the Wolfpack. Usually the team wins when he exclaims this and as it held true for the D Birds this past Sunday. Weekly MV Cory MerDermitt paved the way for two key Tds that the park could not answer much for after Pat Adams scored a pair and Alex had a TD in the second half. It’s hard to gauge just where these two teams are by the record each had their battles lost by a slim margin. The Park could easily have only one defeat at this juncture with tough losses to the Nukes and now the D Birds.
The Squad and Docs game really came down to who had the ball last. These two teams traded punts on multiple occasions last Sunday. Miles lead all Pub receivers with a pair of breakaway TDs one coming on a third and short play that he took for 50yd dash to the house. Squad had a lot of issues pulling flags and not pursuing to the football on defense. However they were in the game since Blaine was able to buy enough time with Breath missing his flag on numerous occasions. If Blaine keeps it simple he is as effective as any QB in the league. Robinson caught a big TD on the second attempt to catch off a rollout by Blaine on a 45 yard toss. The big catch deflated the Pubs which was holding onto their veteran breaths at this juncture. Docs was however able to keep it to a one possession game with some nifty defense. Docs surmounted a key stop late in the second frame. Driving down the field and scored a TD with no timeouts and minimal seconds left on the clock. Docs down by one went to the stout Rook on the PAT. Jo W threw a tad bit wide to Junior it was just out of the reach of the young lad right off of his fingertips. The Crimson Tide were delighted as heck that this game didn’t go into overtime!! More cheers came from the Tide then Squad since they were equally as tired as Docs. Both teams left it all on the field and this game was very clean hard fought contest.
Bob-Os were not able to warm up the engine until late in the first half. By that time Weekly MV Skeeter Braun had led his team on four consecutive drives without fault completing nearly over 90% of his passes and 5 TD tosses. The Trojan offense had a 180 degree turn around with the change of QB. Completions down the field and limiting the long ball has been ideal for the revamped Trojan Horse. Mak Turner lead all receivers with 3 TDs and continued to create separation within the Ducks defense which seems to inexistent at best. An effective pass rush would be the perfect antidote for the Ducks defense. Bob did manage to get his team 4 Tds with Georgy doing his thing with a pair, Tommy Gun and AJ each had a lone TD to keep the Trojan attack honest. A couple of picks was the nail in the coffin for the Trojans as they went on the secure a victory and a step above the .500 mark.
Crimson Tide came out banging and selling out on the big catch. Bruce and the Warriors were mostly hot air at they were ice cold in the scheme and consistency. This resulted in not being able to gain field positon beyond mid field throughout the first half. Stanley had a pick six and had enough WIND being able to yell ($#@*!) to Stone. I really don’t know what he said, I assume it wasn’t nice it kinda reminds me of Q-Bert…while running down the sideline churning to the paydirt on a video game breaker! At that moment forward the Tide had all the momentum with the Warriors claiming that they still have all the talent whether they are on the roster or not.. The Tide simply wanted it more and this was ever apparent when Woods elevated and caught major air to haul in a big 4th down play to make the game a two possession game with minimal time on the clock. The Warriors could not move the ball a single yard on their last possession and turned the ball back over to the Tide with nearly a minute left to go in the ball game. The Tide played their best defensive game yet and secured a potential path for another Divisional Crown.
Tribe was eyeing up a victory that early morning but it did not come easy at first. The Blackhawks have trimmed down a bit or they just don’t like showing up for early games as they did not have any substitutions. Tribe benefited from a jumping into the endzone call on a third down which culminated into a Blackhawk turnover on downs. This turning point enabled the Tribe to strike sending Dillon screaming down the sidelines burning the defense yet another week. Throw me the ball every down Dad as he exclaimed!! The Blackhawks continue to find problems with some of the rules as it bit them on the Ass a couple of times in this contest. It’s a sure bet that the Blackhawks is heading for a mid Air Collision with the Seahawks, two will fall, one will survive the Bird Bowl!!! Week 8 is getting close fellahs!
Normandy Beach.
Bobs Os have been riding the Rocky Mountain High after last weeks win. However the Os had to get back to work as it was cut out for them against the Tide who have added some new talent to their arsenal. Beef and Woods connected all morning on the D Day turf and it did not seem to bother the Tides offensive since they seemingly scored on every possession. The Os frustration this season thus far is their lack of communication and execution on defense. Have to play both sides of the ball. Woods led all recievers in yardage that morning capping his day off with a hat trick of TDs. Spence ,Tommy Gun and Creamer did their duty for the Os each contributing to the D Day paydirt but it wasn’t enough as the Tide kept on rolling through the sandy terrain.
One would think the Tribe Docs matchup would have been an epic BCFFL battle. Breath and the Boy had a game with Breath applying pressure and the Boy being the recipient of an INT that really set the tone for the morning. Breath had a pair of his own with Thomas adding a set and leading all rooks in receiving thus far early in the season. Tribe had issues scoring in the first half and could not match the offensive display a week earlier. It may have been some of the Mortar shells that they were tripping over on Normandy Beech. Tribe has a key matchup versus the Trojans this week and the outcome will definitely put one of them in a positon for a run. Tribe has the offensive talent to compete but has to find a Defensive front to slow down more potent offenses. Docs put themselves back in the win column and as long as Joe and John Wetzel are still grinding it this team will continue to compete with the upper echelon of the league when it feels like it has too.
Squad dug themselves out of franchise turmoil and put their Squad back together with a compliment or two from Panther nation. While the Blackhawks look to avenge their first week performance with their first TD of the season from Rice which was just so Nice. Blackhawks appeared to be suffering from lack of efficiency from the QB position. There are some free agent QBs that need a home. Jeff George, Vinny Testeverde? Brett Farve. Or you can call Redface Farve, Fast Freddie Cox, or Rick Myron to come in an interim role? Stay tuned….Squad just had too much talent for this matchup they could have easily doubled the score but it seemed as though they appeared a bit rusty from the winter lockdown.
Thunder had no issue moving the ball on the pitiful turf even though numerous buried landmines scattered throughout the gridiron. The Cobras undoubtable have the talent to matchup but their weakness lacks in depth. What happened to all the fellas from Delran? They don’t play football down their anymore. Cobras just ran out of steam early on with Lance carrying most of the offensive but one man cannot take on a whole team. Got to give it up to Eckman Inc to continue a brand of winning tradition. It seems the letdown of not having punts in the league really hasn’t effected record of the Thunder but time will tell. The Thunder has played as a unit without finger pointing and ego tripping. Maybe this is all you need to win that and a trip to Walmart to celebrate the post game festivities.
Nukes V AP was a burning barn from the opening whistle. Neither team decided to play defense. Big Joe was calm as a giant cucumber moving the ball methodically down the field with Pat Quick working the route just enough to gain effective separation for Big Joe to fit it in the window. However Chris Ermi was hitting the long ball on numerous occasions with Mike and Rob each having a hat trick for the first time in BCFFL history. Just before halftime up by a TD, Ermi and the Nukes had enough time to drive his team down to the 5 yard line with seven seconds on the game clock. On fourth and goal to go ERmi rolled to his strong side dumped the ball off to the flat and as Mike tried to score on the short side of the field while AP defender was in the area, grabbed his flag and and tossed it in an unnatural manner inconsistent with simply just pulling flags. The Halftime gun was shot but Spazz blew the whistle simultaneously for a conference call and for the first time in the league a delay of game was charged to the defense enabling the offense to have a shot at the endzone with an untimed down. Much controversy took place as to the authority of the call and to whether or not a delay can be called because it was the last play of the half. Furthermore this first time I ever saw such action in over 1000 games witnessed by the undersigned. Sometimes this job can put you right in the fire but when you recover and divulge the rationale it makes it more understanding for all sides because we are all students of the game. Players who think they may know everything there is about football are more lost than a novice.
OA was gloating over their earlier win at Mercer and the fact that they were able to arrive from an 8am game and casually walk into fountain woods as if they been there all morning. The Seahawks had their positive emotion set and pretty much knew what they were in for. Almost as if let’s get this one over with and move on. So pretty much like that they did. The Seahawks took their defeat with class and though most of their players are playing in the wrong position, the goal seems to have fun in the end. It’s a shame Team Humanitarian rep Corey could not participate since he was in South America on a mission. As for the OAs Corey had the fourth hat trick of the day with Sasso and yes Tony cashing in on a ceremonial TD being a recipient by a lateral just before paydirt was crossed. It’s all about the Stats…
In the war of 1812 Britain and the allies versus the US. It was the last ditch effort for the Redcoats to control outer territories. This past Sunday a Day with most of the contest were blowouts, this contest between the D Birds and the Goonies lived up to the hype. But no Redcoats were in attendance. Initially the Phlegmerator had his way with the Goon D knifing his way into the secondary with his candid ability to create running lanes in open space. The D Birds appeared to take control of the game and had the opportunity to go up by a pair but the Phlegm let one hang a little low and Pallet had to change direction and cradle the football into the endzone turf but Spazz overruled the Head Hatter who could not confirm whether the ball hit the surface or not. K Haggar jumped a fade route and picked off Phlegm’s pass to stop a surging drive by the D Birds which was the turning point of the game. The Goons QB, DJ showed off his strong arm again throughout most of the game but it wasn’t until he was able to get some consistency and accuracy with the shorter tosses in which the Goons were able to convert and score the game winner. By the way the score of this grapple was 18-12.
Bruce and the #Family showed for their third leg of the day. While the Trojans had thoughts of a major upset thought stating that their best players were on idle this week. Both teams had to play on Normandy Beech making for an even
situation on uneven surface. Bruce pretty much had his way smiling and joking during the onslaught while utilizing all weapons in the deep aresenal pocket. League representatives are evaluating the depth of the Warriors on a weekly basis to analyse whether or not they are tipping the roster scale. The Trojans had bigger issues scoring and only could muster one TD. While Flex, Delattre and Braun each indulging in TD reception with with Fads and Frenchy doing most of the damage with a pair to go home with. The Warriors likely have the most talented roster in the league now it is up to them to live up to their hashtag. Time will tell...
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL THE BCFFL FAMILIES AND MAY WE NEVER RETURN TO NORMANDAY AGAIN!!!

Week One sponsored by Sahmrock Shakes
Tide came out of the gate with Beef heaving some long passes into Docs secondary which seemed to be beleaguered with swissss cheese early last Sunday. Breath made his presence felt with a pair of sacks that kept Docs within striking distance. Breath tried to fire up JR by threatening to punish his son if he missed another flag pull which seemed to be the Pubs nemesis all morning. Docs had no answer to Beef’s four TD tosses with Stanley being the recipient on offense blowing past Docs secondary all morning catching pair of TDs and helping his defense with multiple sacks that kept the Pub idle. Docs ran out of gas late and gave up an easy TD to the Tide in a game that could have been closer than the score indicated. Oh by the way Bobby Jr scored a TD and will not be grounded, at least until the next game that is.
John Harbaugh made his debut at Qb for the Trojans heaving 4 TDs and would have had 5 if the X receiver did not drop the 60 yard bomb on the far sideline it would have easily been 5. It seems that the QB hunt is over for Shyron. Thus far the Harbaugh project has panned out. The days of Freddy Cox barking out “Get on it Get on it” maybe never heard again in the BCFFL. As for the Blackhawks, the team failed to make paydirt in their debut despite having decent jerseys and a team that plays without egos thus far.
Bob’s 0s sprung some new uniforms to show the BCFFL that they have returned with a vision of vengeance. Uniforms alone is not the answer. Bobs Os had some new blood on the roster to Add to Tommy Gun and the absence of Senior PGA Chris Moore. The Os signed league veteran Georgey in the offseason in an incentive laden contract with Spiked Shamrock shakes throughout the month of March. The incentives were apparent this past Sunday as Georgey hauled in a triple crown. The Tribe did not miss a beat as well initially with Dillon scorching the weak O defense to put his team up first in the contest. Bob-O and the Os were too much as Bob had the second most TDs in League history with 7 tosses. This game was the highest scoring contest of the morning by both teams. Rookie Zack Spence made his debut with a pick 6 of his own and could have possibly had two if he haven’t lost the football in his big hands. Zack also skyed over the defense for two PATs demonstrating that no one will be able jump with this lad. The league will gauge how good this O team is the week with a matchup versus the Crimson Tide.
The OAs started the season off without missing a beat. All the offseason workouts payoff and it sure was apparent as the Champs seem to play semi-flawless games on weekly basis continuing this trend from 2015. King Alex of the Park had one thing in mind to start the season off 1-0. Action Park struggle to put the ball in the endzone early and were reluctant to complement a stout defense that held this team within a route by the OAs. Sasso highlighted the first half with a batted pass on a 4th and goal situation. After Sasso batted the ball he was able to adjust his momentum and get under control of the football which time he flipped it back putting the OAs in a situation to score on the return. Woods complemented the OA offense with 2 TDs with singleton TDs by Stephenson, Sasso and Shipman that culminated the assault that could not be slowed down by the Park in the second half. Pat Quick Adams hauled in the lone Td for the Park to put his team on the board.
Eckman Inc decided that it was necessary to go with a new brand as they decided to cut ties with Franchise leading QB Stone. Rumor has it that Paul was trying to work out lucrative deals with some of Trumps free agents to compliment the team but the deadline had already passed. Thunder did not know what Qb they were facing until the absence of Daulton was present, giving the Phlemerator the nod to take the helm. Caruso returned where he left off in 2015 with 2 Tds to lead the Birds offense complimented by a lone TD from Skip ditty do da day. The Phlemerator seems to be moving the chains but its likely the same old story – just run out there and GIT open. The force of the Eckmans was a little too much to handle as Kevin lead all family members with a hat trick with Paul adding a pair of his own for the morning. The D Birds seemed a little shocked that the Thunder had their way with them. Then again it shows who has been practicing their craft and those that have been playing couch potato over the winter break.
Rob Bruce joined the Nuke revolution and put on a revolutionary new jersey. His presence was felt early on by the Seahawks who really could not adjust in the coverage and lacked a defensive scheme. Weekly MV Bruce had a pair of TDs and led his team in total yardage but moreover was an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. Pelcian matched Bruce with a pair of his own and Ruiz added one more for on the day for the Nukes. As for the Seahawks you cannot stress enough that again and again if you don’t effectively rush the passer you will be torched. It was Air Ermis day for distributing the ball to all his new weapons while celebrating an anticipated defection of the Semi Formals. Piston Hondas nephew started at QB for the newly revised franchise of the Seahawks. He showed a strong arm but it’s tough for anyone to come out and attempt an offensive when seeing teammates for the first time. The Seahawks have their work cut out for them moving forward but having left their egos aside for the team is definitely the bright spot for this team to unify together to produce an efficient gameplan.
The Cobras arrived a little light in the loafers and had to add Shyron to the mix for the morning. K. Robinson had a dazzeling catch in the corner of the endzone to show the league once more time that hes one of the best at his position. Lance, Shyron and Robinson each had a pair of TDs to lead the offense. The Goonies surprisingly came out slow and were once again forced to make deep errant tosses down the field to no mans land. Hunter and Kelly each had a TD but it was not nearly enough as the skeleton crew of the Cobra moves onto week two with additional reinforcements in their arsenal. With a few additions the Cobras could be on top the division. The Goons have their work cut out for them because the schedule does not get any easier for them at this point. A win this week would be an enormous step for the Goons.
See you all Sunday

SPRING THE CLOCKS AHEAD ONE HOUR SATURDAY NIGHT!!!
Championship Round sponsored by Cloak and Daggar…
Sorry this was added so late my mother had passed away recently and the Holidays have really put me out of the mood to write. That being said here it is…
Both teams came with all their firepower with Overachievers almost tipping the roster scale with a full army of dedicated players. On their first possession Trump went down the field without contest by matriculating down the field and scoring on a fine toss by Ted. Fads split the zone defense just enough to so Ted could fit one in there and cashed in with an opening TD score. That seem to get the OAs worried a bit. Overachievers appeared to be in low gear on their first possession dropping a third down toss by Tony and eventually turning the ball back to Trump with an opportunity to go ahead by 2 Tds early in the contest. On their second drive, Fads was open on the sideline and Ted threw the ball where only he could catch it but Fads could not get the other hand around quick enough to haul in a big reception that would have given Trump a goal to go situation. Overachievers responded quickly with a TD drive to notch it up even later in the first half. Defensively the Overachievers were led by Stevenson who was able to get a bit closer to Ted during the final drives of the first half highlighted by a third down sack just before the endzone plane. Trump turned the ball over on downs and the Overachievers do what they do best is to capitalize after a big stop. As the clock wound down to two minutes Ted abruptly took a timeout on third and long which seemingly gave the Overachievers an extra possession scoring on the last two drives of the first half. With nearly thirty seconds in the first half and one timeout Tony called on Sasso to do much of the work pushing the ball down the field. Tony also froze the defense with the read option at the line to convert yardage on key third down plays. With three seconds left to go on a key third and goal from the 25 yard line Tony dropped back and just before Trumps defense was about to adjust to the route Tony ripped one into the clutches of Sasso who nosed the Ball and his flags barely breaking the plane of the endzone and scoring a key TD just before the halftime Church Bell.
In the second half Trump seemed to dive into undiscovered plays as they handed the ball off to Lighting who took the exchange from the 2 yard line and turned it up field into a scrum of Overachiever defenders and somehow broke through a suspected holding penalty, turned up field scored on Trumps first ever ground attack TD. On the defensive side of the football in the second half Trump continued not to rush the passer which played a key role in their defeat. Ted was flushed out of the pocket quite a few times as Stevenson halted a two late drives with sacks. Trump electing not to rush enabled Tony to have his way with Trumps defense and if the Overachievers did not come out with a slow start this game may have been over in the first half and less drama would have ended the game. In simple terms, Lindsey Stevenson simply took the game over defensively for the Overachievers who pressed Trump so much that they had no choice to try to run the football. On Trumps final possession Stevenson had three pressures and a sack to ultimately stick the Daggar in Trumps heart. Yes he is in the BCFFL Hall of Fame with back to back league defensive MVs.
The tournament is should be a good one with teams representing the adjacent counties. The CFFL Allstars are returning under a new name to defend their title. After destroying every team they faced in the last tournament, they are confident that their long journey to Burlington County will be a successful one again. I assume we will all find out who they are and the rest of these Cloaked teams this Sunday. This is a good opportunity for team building and acquiring free agents while getting some offseason work in. Don’t know why more BCFFL don’t take advantage of it, can’t get better unless you practice your craft.
Best of Luck. Happy Holidays.

Fight..
Trump was the first and only team to kinda warm up last Sunday as I witnessed Jimmzy doing leg lift stretches on the goal line just prior to the start of the game versus Crimson Tide. Lou looked hung over as ever as he forgot to where his road whites since Tide had changed their colors to black in the offseason. On Trumps first snap of the game Jimmy was open on a shallow cross while Trump hit him in stride and place the ball catchable for Jimmy to turn on the burn a 65 yard TD jaunt to start off the game. The Tide came out a bit sluggish moving the ball and could not develop any matriculation until the third drive which was set up by an interception off a poorly thrown ball by Ted that enabled the Tide to get back into the game before halftime. Beef acted quick and hit a wide open flag route to T.J. who got lost in Trumps coverage all alone deep in the secondary that left Lou shaking his head in disbelief that someone could score that easily. Both offenses were in full gear just before the halftime break assuming the burning barn would continue to burn.
The second half was just the inverse with both teams beginning to settle down and play coverage limiting scoring opportunities. On Tides second possession of the second half Beef found himself in a third and long situation in which he attempted to throw a sideline pass due to a longer development of a play two receivers were in the same area drawing the defender Prizzy over to defend the lofty pass. An off balance Prizzy tipped the ball in front of him back towards a trailing Steve of the Tide who made the immaculate reception and turned it up field for a big first down turning the game around for his team. Tide would eventually score their only TD with Pat on the receiving end of the goal line offense. The scoring drive to which made the contest a one possession game for the remainder. Trumps offense failed to score up until the point of their last possession. Trump drove down the field in small chunks and found themselves in a third and long scoring situation. Ted dropped back and hit an open Fads on the far sideline and just has he left his feet and tried to bring the ball into his body to secure it a Tide defender laid a suspected illegal hit on him and the ball came loose. Trump was given an extra down because of the penalty and on third and goal Ted was able to scramble out of the pocket and rumble his way towards the endzone where he broke the plane before the flags were pulled. Tide had enough time on their last possession to drive for the game winning score. Beef was able to bring his team down to the twenty yard line. On a crucial third and goal play Beef hit Woods in the flat with real estate in front of him, however Woods could not haul it in which put the Tide in a predictable fourth down situation in which they had to throw into the endzone. On fourth down Beef rolled to his right and sailed the ball a bit high and out of reach of Steve and any receiver looming in the endzone which ultimately ended the game. Great game on both sides of the ball. Both teams left everything on the field and it was a pleasure to officiate this contest.
a negative into a positive. Early in the half, Stone hit Caleb on a perfect 60 yard strike laying right on the sideline for Caleb to haul it in. Thunder quickly struck first blood and made it look easy while doing so. Action Park was able to get it together later in the first half cutting the lead down to a manageable one possession game. Thunder came out of the second half where they left off and marched down the field on consecutive drives lead by the Eckman boys. One of the key drives culminated with a Paul Eckman head first catch in which he slammed his large frame near the back of the endzone mud creating quite a scene. Krazd Kevin became jealous and one UP-ted his brother and further contributed with a pair of TD receptions to set the tone for the Thunder’s offense
review.
After a losing season in High School my friends and I went on daily quest to play tackle football pick-up games throughout the area to help alleviate the feeling of multiple losing seasons. This quest went on daily during the late fall and into winter. Trying to get lineman was quite a venture as I would attempt to recruit the biggest and baddest dudes in the area to compete with and against. I can recall that during the end of the day before dismissal running down the hallways yelling to see how many bodies we could gather up for a game that afternoon. On Sunday mornings, it was a different story as the competition took to the townships. Once I was driving, I would pick up as many men I could in my full size Dodge Ramcharger and eventually after waiting for them to get ready from being hungover or whatever we would get a game in. These pickup games became the only thing that we had after as our high school and college careers became extinct. I remember looking at the packed house at Nottingham High’s homecoming celebration as they destroyed us while looking into the crown and seeing what fun it was as a school to win a football game. I began to see some of our high school rivals at the local watering holes and challenge them to a Sunday affair. They would get blown out of the water to avenge the embarrassment that we had in High School. I thought to myself that no one could beat us when its US! The pick up games became a very good tool for exhausting negative energy especially during the stubborn ages of 17-22. Unfortunately, you do not see this type of activity at all anymore and the younger generation is not contributing to the flag leagues as they once were when I used to participate. This draws much concern as the world becomes more isolated each day. Playing tackle football without any equipment was so much fun that you did not care even if you didn’t have any medical insurance. Whether its laziness, technology, social media or whatever, I want to know?? Simply hard to put words cannot describe of how much fun that we used to have playing this game. This generation must be blind and ignorant not to cease the free opportunity to engage in an exhibition of ground warfare. When I was young like these guys you would have to tie me down to the floor to keep me in the house. It is indeed scurry what transpires in recent years.
Me and my brother were fortunate enough to attend a Jets-49ers MNF game just after 9-11 attack. While tailgating, we met Mark ( I believe his name was), he was drawn to me and my brother throwing the pigskin on an awesome autumn night which the entire world was watching after a week of sorrow. As it turns out ironically, Mark had a brother who was a Port Authority Police Officer who ran up into the towers and needless to say his fate was decided that day. I was a bit emotionally charged about his loss. It made the whole tragedy even more local and closer to the heart then ever. We each suggested that organize a tackle game outside of Hightstown at a neutral location to help yet again exhaust some of this negative energy. About 20 or so of us drove there (don’t remember the exact location) to meet a dozen or so of these Northern Jersey fellahs. Our team was no match for them as we were seasoned to travel and performed better on notice than any team playing this style of football. The team we played against had a lot of class, and were more than thankful to engage in this exhibition. Unfortunately, like most of the teams we faced, they never wanted to play us again. Sound familiar?? Sooner than later we found less opponents to play and ventured to different high schools like Steinert, Hamilton West, Nottingham then into Morrisville where we played at the Home of the Dawgs-will never forget that good stuff. One Sunday we gathered for a friendly while meeting with a group of guys playing at our turf with a standout QB that we called “Cordell” since he played with a Steelers Cordell Steward jersey. Cordell and his squad took us by surprised kicked our ass at Nottingham and our prayers were answered to find a worthy opponent. The Next week Lee and his Squad came with even more numbers fathers and Sons even further invading Nottingham as our team began to lose its gut like all of the teams that we left in the past. We went on to battle for the next season yes we had some controversy but we always respected the game as we traded blood week end and week out with these guys. As the seasons went on the numbers got so thin that we had no other choice but join the legacy. Flag Leagues and Rough touch leagues were just starting to get off the ground locally as now at this time opponents for this Millennium hybrid team were dwindling in the mire. The culture of going town to town for competition still exists for the Nomads. They don’t walk away from competition they embrace it just like I always did. This is not something they tripped up on, they have been breeding this winning tradition longer than any team in the area. They are King Of the Hill for a reason, its in their bloodline…
This past season questions began to engulf the Nomadic camp on who their QB was going to be to finish of the season. Cordell Aka #5 did his best role playing at the positon but its JJs time now. JJ saved his best game for last in the season finally made a giant step forward at the position. JJ outperformed Tune Squad’s resistive defense while making one of the leagues top rusher in Ramos totally ineffective for the first time the entire season. Devon did make his quick presence known putting pressure while spearheading the three headed rush attack by his teamates. Marvel unfortunately left some of his flesh which mirrored hits we used to take at a game of tackle, The viloent collision was the most dramatic part of the Championship and from that moment BCFFL League as JJ took the team and Bullshit by the horns, and marched them repeadetly down the field without mercy. By the time Dwayne arrived on his trike to close out the game, it was not much left for him to do. Dwayne became a spectator just like the rest of us witnessing time again JJ turning on a dime, knifing up the middle with his exceptional game day speed, into the teeth of the defense while also having the uncandid ability to pull up at will and toss the long dart for a TD. It was apparent that something was up with Tune Squad as Tony explained after the game. Despite having all of this on his head he was still able to come out and attempt to exhaust some of this negative energy which is something that this God given game always returns to us. After conversing with Tony after the game about what was on his mind and applying my own life’s trials, tribulations, and application of all these emotions while playing the game of football. I presented to you this little passage only to draw us all a little closer focusing on why we play the best game in the world.
It’s all about the competition that drives us…
Bill Parcells.
Friday Night Lights sponored by The KING OF the hill.
As I walked down the hill and looked over to the sideline I saw the Pub trickling quickly into the shaded side of the field in desperate shelter from the rising heat. Warmups with a “Shake it Cali” theme music really made the hairs stand erect but that’s really all the emotion generated at this venue as Docs went three and out on consecutive drives and seemed to be happy just participating. Some sensational catches by Hector was about the only highlight that did demonstrate again without a doubt that he can play with anyone. Sorry no participation trophy in the BCFFL. Hands down Docs had a tremendous run from the cellar and made big time steps moving forward. Offensively Docs likes to sputter early on in games and last week was not the right matchup for them. Their secondary kept them in the contest early but did not possess enough tempo in their offense to compete. Tony did have a few picks by the tenacious Docs secondary led by Hector and Miles but the overall Offensive was so on point a few miscalculations could be overcome as a Unit. Tune Squad raced to another easier victory and now eyes the Nomads who have been bringing their veteran assassins. Nomads were not challenged at all by the Overachievers offense. Overachiever’s offense turned a big corner in recent weeks but the weather has been against all odds not giving the team the opportunity to turn in a full roster. OA gave a valiant defensive effort against the hit or miss Nomadic offense. Nomads were able to ice the cake as veteran Dwayne brought his XXXL gleaming white mits hauling in a pair of key receptions and a game ending interception to ice down the affair.
Getting to the meat and potatoes of the Nomad Tune Squad matchup I can strike quick and say that this can be as good as it gets. Duly noting that the Tune Squad put it on the Nomads a few weeks back and seemed to be a finer oiled machine at that time and things have not changed since. The matchup of the Nomads defense against the Tune Squads offense is very intriguing and I’m proud to have a front seat in that respect. Early tempo can be a key in this game. Matchups across the scrimmage line will be interesting. Chris Carr has been playing warrior type of football of late and will be quite a challenge for the Tunes to defend. Tune Squad has an offensive arsenal that is indeed fun to watch. Marcus has pulled more flags than the rest of the league combined. Most of the veterans of the league will be participating in this matchup and those younglings and have-NOts should be in attendance and please take notes. Tony’s not so new toys anymore blended with players like Wonesh always seem to be there, give the exact effort and place themselves accurately in the zone for Tony to recognize said adjustments and fulfill the offensive plan. The Tune Squad encompasses a nice blend of new and veteran Brew. Nomads have been reinforcing their team with a full roster of late and is it enough time to jell on both sides of the ball to win another BCFFL chip? A dramatic affair indeed.
With all that he said they beat and he said we beat, it all comes down to this both these teams have significant histories whoever wins this game will be in my Book- KING OF THE HILL…
See You Sunday Men Please act accordingly….
Friday NIght Football Follies sponsored by Deperately Seeking Susan's Husband.
Tune Squad wanted one last “Tune Up” and the classy Oilers were Not going to have it. Despite having numerous injuries this past season the Oilers managed to get enough grit to be competitive in all there games. From the onset the Oilers competed issuing the Predators only loss in the seasons opener. Since then Miller Inc. has suffered major blows and put more players on the DL than any organization in the League. Especially weakening thier secondary and rush attack. The White Moss Project had an impact last week against AP and looked to set his mark in the league. However WM had idled his talent this past weekend versus the Tunes. Initially in the game, both teams were able to digest blows as TJ and Moose were able to chew off alot of extra RAC from great check down reads from Beef and put their Squad in a viable positon to score competing throughout the contest. Tony just has been too fluent with his reads and the offense has been responding. Since the Predators game I believe this team has only punted a few times if that at all. Jarvin set the tone defensively picking off a pair and taking one back to the house, while contributing offensive side of the ball as well. Heading into this week the Tune Squad couldn’t be hotter as Docs seems to playing on a level of their own as well. Interesting matchup especially the fact that you cannot draw much upon the first meeting between these two teams this season when I can hear the moans of men. Who would have known at that time that a Run was coming??? See you Sunday.
After a three-week hiatus the Predators took the field and figured that it would be easy as butter to move the ball consistently. A true test of Cocky vs Confidant. Indeed you can have both but a balance of the two in the key. On their first possession, Diamond hit the reliable Fads on a quick slant that cleared his egg shell hands and blasted him in the face creating a Football Follie. Debris from saftey glasse splattered into the grass and the first down was not obtained on the simple pass play on a dropped ball . This action pretty much summed up their overall team performance of the day just not being able to pick up the “Speed of the Game.” Docs was on a higher level with the Wetzel’s playing atop of their game if not the best ever. Predators did not recognize that much and did not bother coming out the week before to scout as most teams do in preparation for the next weeks game. Another golden opportunity missed. Predators were only able to retain a handful of completions in the first half and if it wasn’t for the deep strike to Lance before the half it would have shown on the scoreboard. In the second half Docs began to feed off the emotion of having a call not go in their favor as well as a key turnover. Docs Pub had been victimized by key calls for majority of the game. As It was the right call for the Predators extending the drive and score to take the lead. As Bob was able give his input towards the Predators causing both teams to engage in verbal warfare in which Docs usually wins in the end. pushing its veteran presence upon thee. Breath’s antics proved sufficient as you can see it in the young Predator defense as they began to Press. It was an awesome display of sideline coaching and adjustments by the Pubs brass tutoring the younger generation whom seem receptive to the critisism. Buying in is what its all about and its occuring right in front of our eyes.
Docs had one last drive with less than 30 seconds on the clock after a Predators TD. Joe W drove his team to the 25 yard line, putting the Pub in a fourth and goal to go with 12 seconds left. Joe had a semi roll to the left just after avoiding the potent rush and was able to find small land to lead his brother John as he broke back towards the sideline extended his arms and made his second TD catch that no one could act on but him. This one loomed larger as it broke the back of the Predators for good. The Tented Fans uproared in Joy seemingly feeling vindication from the controversy of late. While the young Pub's reserves. had the eyes a youngin would have in Disneyworld. It was louder than the girls softball games in the lower portion of the park which I have to admit, possesed intensity as well this swealtering hot and overly humid past Sunday. With regards to the Cocky versus Confident assessment in totaliy, it is undeniable the Confidence that the Predators have. Though thier Cocky outlook actually overlooked thier ability to adjust simply because they thought they were better thae the opponent this past week it happened to be the Pub. During the course of all of this the Predators Cockiness prevailed and elected not to adjust rather to continue offensivley in script. Docs read them like a book.
This game likely will go down as one of the leagues best games ever, while the finish itself was legendary. You cannot gauge the emotion and level of Play that the Pub is riding right now. Will it be enough to pull off and even bigger upset versus the seasoned Tune Squad. Joe W sure responded from the accusation of invaid visas. I be the first to admit that open mouth insert foot? I wouldnt trade witnessing this perfromance for anything. I can say this If my laptop didnt slow last week with a weddding reception in the balance, a taste of this result would have been forecasted so I am not Surprised.
Predators unfortunately have to digest all of this and wait till next season while Docs has begun it preparation in the pregame Saturday night belting of fireball at the Weiland residence. Anyone seen Bob. Thanks to Renee again for getting the Breath safely from the Park to the Pub in a timely fashion. It looked like a good time. Them wings look good, and I heard Beth is back bartending.. All good stuff. Was that the last postgame Green Celebration at the Pub???
Stay Tuned.

Nomads looked to be going through the motions while Shyron was sipping on Fireball with Breath the night before. It is apparent that Shy was desperately seeking Susan’s husband to play QB in the late morning. It seems that there was scheduling conflict with Bruce’s leagues and he chose to opt out of his 1130 obligation with the Trojans. Just before the game I saw a Trojan jersey laying in the back of the endzone symbolizing the absence of their offensive ring leader. Shyron did his best QB impression, which just wasted clock time and gave the ball back to the Nomads who were in no rush to score as well. Skeeter showed that he had a set of nutz and came into the game pushing the ball down the field and eventually getting his team back within one possession. Even Rel didn’t show up in the game and his Trojan blood line runs deep supposedly. Fact of the matter is if Skeeter or a viable QB manager played against the Nomads this past Sunday they would have won. The Nomads were spent even midway through the second half. They were able to gain their Tempo eventually and it was too late for the Trojans to stay in the game as JJ showed why is the MV candidate of the league taking full control over the game and simplifying the offense and allowing the game to come to him because it sure wasn’t there for most of this contest. Looking into Boo, Skeeter and Shy’s eyes at the end of the game no words could mitigate their frustration as a Golden opportunity to dethrone the Nomadic Machine had slipped right by.
Squad showed up light in Blaine’s penny loafers again with no one on the bench, until Tom Gun showed up two thirds into the first half. Blaine was not able to get the motor on for most of the first half and passess began to flub about the gridiron. By that time Gun was able to get involved it was too late as MV, Sasso began to have his way with the defense. Squad neglected again to rush the passer and play defense with sleepy junk still in their eyes. Sasso did his best MagicFarve Esk no look passes embarrassing the defense and faking out the Go Pro Cam. With Sasso at the helm the Overachievers looked like a well oiled machine moving the ball down the field more efficiently than most teams in the league. Overachievers had a defensive battle that brewed a few weeks back against the Nomads. Any imitation of that performance defensively while incorporating the recent offensive production this matchup indeed may be the game of the day. Mel, the unsung Corey, Brian and the Stevenson’s have all been playing their role to challenge the opponent. Hass also has been getting more balls his way since he’s been reactivated. It will be something to watch with league’s top rusher versus JJ and the development therein. Stick around felllahs this game likely to be a real Gem.
Sunday matchup.
Last week I spent the scarcely undivided extra time I had on attempting to alter the schedule since there was some conflictive issues with changing it. I usually exhaust every means to help a team out that needs a schedule change. I, was considering altering my schedule as well by changing babysitting plans that are not necessarily able to change in the first place. Low and behold, it didn’t work out and from now on I will recuse myself from attempting to find a resolution to the schedule conflicts. Man Up fellahs don’t hide behind the doldrums of social media. Just man the F up!
That being said there has been some key matchups in recent weeks that have really set the table for the playoffs. The Rising Thunder met the number one ranked Predators in a key crossover game that had more blood loss than First Blood. Thunder came out with a balanced attack and kept the Predators on Ketch-up for the entire contest. The Thunder has vastly improved in recent weeks and shown that they could battle with anyone in the league. Krazd Kevin is playing even out of his mind and really been a reliable complementary to Caleb who still remains one of the best players in the league. Terrance gashed his chin on an incidental collision and came back in and was able to play and keyed his defense to a much-needed late stop that put the Ball back in Diamonds hands for the game winning drive. After several dropped passes multiple false starts the Predators were able to fend off all these adversaries and score on the game wining final drive. The loss of Caleb who donated a piece of his torn hamstring to Joe Lawrence, was indeed a big factor for the Thunder to compensate. Caleb was in full support mode on the sideline causing distraction with his flash dance pants and humbling demeanor. Dam shame the game ended without both teams at full bore. It was a bute! Thunder will be facing the upstart Trojans this Sunday and should be a great game. I will be in attendance as a bystander taking notes on Spazz’s performance. Standing room only at this event!!!
Tune Squad was idle last week before they easily digested two key wins over the Nomads and Squad. After the Nomads drenched the Nukes offensively with a bigtime MV performance by the always reliable Chris Carr, it was apparent that their age began to show a bit against the youthfully and veteran balance Tune Squad. After JJ had is way with the Nukes convincingly you would think that their second leg would be duplicated. Not so much as the Tunes put one on the Nomads there’s no denying that. There were enough MVs to go around on the day as Tony and his team all contributed. It is not often that the Nomads suffer a submissive defeat. Especially from a local team…. Tony showed why he’s one of the best QBs in the league and cameback strong from his least two meager performances against the Nomadics. The Tunes face the Americans who are over 1000-1 odds on winning the crown this year. I can say that all the teams that I watched last Sunday the Americans had the most balanced attack. Sully was playing off his rocker and moving the football at will against the Panthers in the first half. They are going to need a triple dose of that against the Tunes who are full of talent down the lineup. The Americans do have the most talented roster in Feldman Franchise history. Now they have to take a step back let the game come to them and make completions so you don’t have to rely Sooo much on the big play. The big plays will be there have to fill em up with meat in between…Its all about completions the broken record continues…
Overachievers were not able to field a team last weekend due to a schedule change in MCFFL. They should be able to handle the Panthers considering the drubbing they put on them a few weeks back. Since then the Panthers have seem to buy in and believe that they can compete no matter what the schedule has in store for them. If the Panthers rely on emotion to carry them it may be a bigger hill to climb then anticipated. Myron has kept it postive despite some tough losses and led the team on a crucial comeback last week which their backs were against the walls for the entire first half. Just like Bo Said its Go time fellahs for All teams....
Nukes find themselves in scrimmage mode as Docs pub is starting to moan their way out of another season. It seems the Wetzel Visas have expired and have been ordered to stay at the homefront bailing out mid-season and leaving the rest of their team on waivers. Its quite simple- you just cant come out in this league and go through the motions and win. Trump found that out a few seasons ago. These teams aren’t going to lay down. If you can’t commit than stay home with your moans and groans. Nukes shouldn’t have an issue with the Pub this week and if so it so happens that Docs shows up in full squad this could be the game of the week. But that just maybe a bit far-fetched…
Oilers find themselves in a favorable positon against an old rivalry that recorded only one victory over this franchise in several seasons. Moose put on quite a show with his One hand catch performance in a tough loss. However this matchup versus the Park usually is a close game for some reason, I guess its because the fact that they do face each other so often. Lets not forget that these two teams met in the Championship game that came down to a few plays in the end. Alex should have his team ready and if the Oilers come with the Old White Moss look out Big Joe you may not be ready for it….
Squad always seems to be matched up with the Ducks in the first round. Squad is 3-0 in a playoff history versus the Ducks. Bob-O has been really pushing the ball down the field lately with multiple threats deep. The issue is that the Ducks turn the football over and are limited pressuring the QB. If they can address these keys than they will have a shot against the Squad who are hot and cold offensively in their own right. Talent wise Squad has the notch especially if Blaine is on because if he is on this team can beat anyone…
See you Sunday.
Saturday Nights Recap Sponsored by THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.
Nomads Predators what can I say. It’s about time for some competition dam it no matter how much pent up frustration you may or may not possess. One of the largest crowds in league history made it to watch the final leg of the morning. This divisional crossover game appeared to be one in the making. The Nomads dodged a bullet when Lee came out with the cold bore and tossed one low into the opportunistic Smith who dove for the interception. Nomads never really warm up before a game and this time it really began to show. Is stretching and warming up and Advantage?? I believe I had submitted a science project that no one seemed to care about 30 years ago. Predators didn’t do much stretching of their own and failed to score after the turnover giving them the ball in the redzone immediately to no avail. Both teams were reluctant to draw first blood for almost the entire first half. Nomads had an opportune chance dwindle away before the halftime whistle as they initiated a pair of false starts attempting to slow down the rush attack that began to build for the Predators. The drive stalled at a midfield prayer to no avail. Nomads were able to take the lead in the second half as Lee began to feel it driving the team into the redzone on consecutive drives. The second half the intensity began to build as each drive by both teams seemed to inch there way closer in scoring positon. Williams broke ahead early and added a pair of TDs to lead his team. Diamond continued to show poise despite the hostility that began to build. Bruce got loose in the secondary and caught tipped pass and was about to torch it to the endzone however a Predator threw a pick in there to slow down a potential Nomad Flag Pulling trailer and nullified the TD. Diamond was able to push the ball further into Nomads tightly covered territory. Predators were able to penetrate for two Tds with Fads and Lance each adding one TD while Fads completed a pass for a key 2 point PAT that put the Predators up by 2 point threshold. Predators were able to stop the Nomads on two late drives setting themselves up for a game winning TD to Lance. During the drive on 1st down some extracurricular events began to take place with emotions flaring and foul language beyond normal expression. The Department of Corrections was unavailable to assist with this felonious behavior. There was a lot of talking back and forth and after the whistle blew numerous time I heard Jamal began to walk and point at the Predators huddle continuing to yell obscenities disregarding the whistle and beyond civil control. This is supposed to be a friendly atmosphere in a Township Park in which families and children observe and attend. Once the talking along scrimmage becomes emotional in which foul language becomes the focal point, indeed you will be flagged. This downward emotion began to plague the Nomads as it showed on a fumbled snap at their own 5 ended the game with just under a minute and two timeouts. A disheartening way to end a climactic event. The Predators though started slowly, and never became embezzled with emotion. Their QB Diamond and company demonstrated this throughout the contest ultimately bridging them to the victory.
Squad had their first matchup in a while versus the Nukes. These two teams had similar records at this juncture which one would believe automatically affirmed competitive contest. Squad however seems to be in a funk right now. Their offense is not fluent and Blaine did not have the command in the huddle that he has had earlier this season. Nukes took full advantage and partaken in all the scoring output for most of the game. Stanely and Dardis were all over coverage breaking up passes while Emilio (forgot his name) did his part to make Blaine’s day unsettling at best. Stu had a pair of TDs to lead all receivers and continues to show that he’s at the top at his position. Rob and Tom each had a TD to contribute to tes cruising victory. Squad were sent home packing with a lopsided loss that left no shit talking in the end…
Last week I saw some Positives in the Panthers attack as they held their own for almost a half against the Overachievers despite a lack of personnel. Action Park was their next opponent and based on their performance last week this game should be headed towards conflict. And it sure did as the Panthers seemed to have trimmed some of the emotions. Serros entered the game after a brief hiatus and made an immediate impact versus the Park. Big Joe dropped back and he does and fired one into traffic that was kept alive while Serros and AK were flying all over the secondary breaking up passes. A.K. had the game of his young but older career with two TDs one off a pick 6 that took the wind out of Big Joe’s center mass. It takes a good thrust to do that and you need an A.K. to do the job right.
Bob-0s ducks had their full Squad ready against the thin red lined Americans who only brought four horseman to the table. Georgy was also back in action hauling in two TDs while tearing down the sideline for an early score as the Ducks pretty much controlled the game from that moment forward. Not much to speak of the Americans as the boat has been light in recent weeks. Hard to figure that this is the most competitive point of the schedule that the team would be a skeleton crew. Williams did ball out for the Red White and Blue with a three TD performance despite only having two other complements on offense. Ducks vow to make noise and upward movement this week as they look to fatten up the Goose or Duck in this matter over the course of the next two weeks.
Blackhawks were thrilled to have a game against the Goonies this past week. Kareem was trying to match J Devlin’s last ditch scramble on the waiver wire. With no functional QB in site this was a test of sure grit and pure franchise commitment. Whos? Going to stand up and be a man regardless of the records, just play football. Those who participated gutted it out to the final whistle. Cannuli slept right through the game again rather sleep in a make the 10am pedicure appointment from sum Luc on the Craigslist John. This was indeed more important than helping his team win. The Devlin brothers were at it again while Danny Devlin led all receivers on both sides of the ball hauling in two TDS and obtaining his first MV announcement of his career. Goonies lacked their QB again and struggled to put up enough points to answer the onslaught put on by the Devlin boys. Blackhawks look to continue their streak this week against the Americans who are on the cusp of a playoff positon as well.
Trojans finally were battle tested this past weekend versus the Tune Squad. Rel set the tone for the Trojans getting behind the defense and muscling a deep pass by Stone away from a Trojan defender who locked up with him into the endzone. The ball came out but BCFFL Official Cowboy Roy was in position and saw that the ball was knocked out by the defender after the receivers made contact with his leg and back in the endzone. Roy observed a legal completion and made a great call . Tune Squad had a bit more offense for the Trojans to handle who still struggle with a part time rush attack. Bruce was picked off and returned it for a pick 6. Tony was able to fend off the part time rush n attack with ease while becoming more in Tune with his rookies and veterans. It has been the vets on this team sealing the glue and putting themselves on course amongst the league’s elite.
Docs didn’t know they had a game today as team leader and spokesman Bob W did not advise his players what time their game was versus the Overachievers. Docs slowly arrived one by one as they did not appear to have a care in the world about playing football. Bar opens at noon fellahs word has it that Beth has been back here and there as a guest bartendress.. Overachievers were looking to notch up the Ws in hopes of drawing a formidable seeding come playoff time. Haas Corey and Mont did their duty each hauling in a TD pass. Docs made it competitive and made the game a one possession affair midway through the second half. Overachievers were able pull away with Corey’s second TD that sealed the deal and left the Pub idling for a double header against the Tune Squad.
Thunder was in a position to lock up second place in the Divison with a win over the Oilers. The Oilers were beleaguered by injuries in recent weeks. Cam broke paydirt first for the Oilers who appeared be able to sustain a back and forth game initially. As the half went on it was apparent that the Oilers lacked a few substitutions to complement their defense and could not hold Thunder down from consecutive scoring drives. Later in the game Thunder was in a four minute offense designed to keep the lead while utilizing clock management. Oilers appeared to begin to retreat and take the loss talking about their game in Mercer while Ty wasn’t having none of that intercepted a pass that would have put the Thunder up by three TDs and taking it to the house. The game wasn’t over yet as the Oilers were able to stop the Thunder again while scoring and putting the contest in a one possession game. Had there been another minute left on the clock the Oilers would may have pulled off a miraculous comeback. However this wasn’t the case as the Thunder only had less then ¾ of a minute to burn as they did and proceeded down victory lane.
Docs and Tune Squad were about to each play their second game of the day and by the looks as an observer you can tell that both teams appeared to go through the motions. Early on before fatigue began to sent in, John W was doing his thang coming back on poorly thrown balls and turning them into TDs. Moans and groans took precedence in this anticlimactic contest. Docs did not have anyone else to turn to as John was the only receiver to gain separation from the T Squad. After about two drives the T Squad led defensively by Marcus began to clamp down and put this game in the hands of Tony to do his job has he does so well. It became a laugher by early second half and really don’t remember much beyond that. I was tired as well…
Good Night Men
See you Sunday

Third Trimester Report Card sposored by the Cre'me.'
Squad-Had an impressive run going on Blaine was playing above his means but in recent weeks it seem that this team is only playing one side of the ball and for the F…. life of me don’t know why this team elects not to blitz on defense. Last week QB Simms filled in for Blaine and sent his QBR high but the defense had allowed Thunder to nearly score on every possession in the second half-putting gasoline on the Burning Barn as they denied themselves the opportunity to rush Weekly MV Brian Obuchowski. Did the Squad take a few steps back after digesting a big win over the Nomads? Time will tell…
Nomads- When they show up with most of their team they are competitive indeed. This team possess the best defense in the region. Their uncommon ability to adjust to offenses and communicate what they see and take individual responsibility for mistakes. As a unit they self correct on the fly. They also have been able to show that multiple players being able to fill in at different positions. Qb play has been in question of late and in an offensive battle the Nomads may not be able to burn the barn. However the Nomads haven’t put themselves in that situation so the last sentence is pure speculation at this point. Another Championship is laid out for them despite noticeable offensive deficiencies, hell the Ravens didn’t need a conventional pocket passer either just a game manager. The question will be anseered this Spring not denying JJs talents on both sides of the ball but weather or not he is best suited to play QB in this style or will his superior talent make it happen either way…
Nukes- Lost some talent this year but did not lose the edge in the league. QB play has been above average versus teams orbiting the .500 mark. The Nukes made an impressive run last season in a league that lacked a bit of fertilization. More teams have returned with new talent. More or less the road to through the playoffs will be more difficult than it has been in years back. Overall there is no denying that the Nukes are amongst the crème` of the league but don’t be mistaken because the cup has turned into a bowl.
Oilers-Have been playing efficient offensive football sustaining drives when they needed it most. The Oilers got out of the gate early with an impressive victory over the Predators. Since then the Oilers hypothetically had one loss since last weeks hoax of a suspected forfeit that potentially misled Oiler nation to go about their family business on Mothers Day. Beef has shown that his arm is strong as any QB in the league with the ability to reach all patterns on the tree from both sides of the field while on the run, most impressive.. The Oilers strenghth in Big games is their impeccable redzone efficiency. Defensively they are able to rush by committee and can generate an above average rush attack keeping them in games. The Loss of Snell a few weeks back may be a factor especially when the Oilers begin the tougher portion of the schedule beginning this week. Ty has been a bright new addition to the Oilers as well as the addition of some defensive personnel as well.
Tune Squad-Immediately ascended to the top of the league with impressive victories over the Nukes and a comeback over the Oilers that seemingly brought this team together initially. Tune Squad was flying high with new prospective talent in Danny Terry O and company. Frank and Markus have brought their veteran craftsmanship to the table to balance it all out and paves the way for another Championship run for Tony’s gang. Predators got in their way a little bit and some believe in their heads as well. Tony vows a rematch in the playoffs.. should be interesting.
Thunder-Eckman Inc has done it again. Year in and year out this institution has put together a genuine product despite obtain team paraphernalia from Walmart. Caleb has been outperforming on offense as usual but it’s the genetically enhanced Krazd Kevin who leads the team in TDs and has been scorching defenses on yards after. Team defense will be the key for the Thunders success. They have not been able to show consistent pressure on the QB. Maybe its time to re-activate Showtime from the PUP list.
Predators-Talent wise this team hands down has it. In seasons past the Predators struggled in crunch time on play selection and time management. This season player OC Fads have been vocalizing the huddle on a weekly basis. It wasn’t long ago that this team rose from Cobra. Attending Special Guest Star Guy Fieri wore is Cobra Kai Do JO jersey to remind us of all of that. Kaleem has been marked for his physical play hovering around the scrimmage line and not letting receivers get into their routes. Is he just getting into the adversary’s heads? This maybe just the gameplan. Words are just words. Oh by the way they play the Nomads this weekend….. This will be a temperature test for both teams to where they stand at this point in time.
Action PaRK- Were off to a bad start. Smitty and Nambi return to the team to help the defense. In recent weeks have shown that they can play with the Crème’ with a close encounter amongst the Oilers. With some of the crossover games in their favor, the Park can Partake in a decent playoff seeding considering that a positive at this point. Big Joe has seemed to rev up the Diesiel offense in weeks and finally starting to jell with his old mates.
Goonies-Karreem still holding down One Eyed Willies Ship. This season it has been without a captain for most of the year. In the opening week the Goonies had a game manager at the helm to help them manage a game over Docs Pub. Since then the team has barely had a pulse. A matchup versus the Blackhawks may change that attitude.
Americans-Another team that struggles with consistency of QB. Dillion has some talent on his roster to compliment his ability but without a trigger man it is hard to breed success. A key win over the Goons a few weeks back may be enough to put them in playoff contention up to the last week. Im sure more competitive football is coming their way in the next few weeks.
Blackhawks-Had a full roster initially in the season. A call out for reinforcement seemed to generate a few free agents that really didn’t care about the team but just rape them for playing time. I think this is total bullshit and the league will be investigating. Blackhawks moved the football with Devlin hitting his young brother on some deep patterns that made some of the players on the Trojans say OH Really??? Then the put up 68 points and decided to go for two just to make it 70. If the Blackhawks are able to have some of this fluency against the Goons this game may be a game for the ages…From a certain point of view as Obi Wan Put it best…
Docs- Their biggest issue is them. The same guys don’t show up week to week. That being said when they do they show up to play. A gritty performance by Hector an John W against the Oilers set the tempo for them for the rest of the season. If Weiland can continue to have success putting pressure on the opponents without taking a humor break this team has a chance to turn the corner on a season that did not look so promising a few weeks back. Their core has been able to keep it together with Mike contributing in ball possession downs and causing mismatches for his teammates in the redzone. Joe W always seems to be able to play in crunch time. The issue that looms is that most of the mistakes made early in games by the Pub sometimes clouds the opportunity for more crunch time drives late in games.
Ducks-Offensively with the Gung Slinging QB Bob-O, the Ducks have been able to drive on anyone. The ability to throw a bad ball and come back on the next down and throw a strike to a cutting receiver has been the Ducks motto since the teams defection from the Outlaws. A trouble spot for the Ducks is that they continue to struggle defensively and do not pose any intimidation by rushing the QB. Even if its done by committee, you have to put pressure on the opposition cant just play offense all game…
Trojans-This team may be the dark horse that has risen coming up from the ashes of being 1-3 at one point this season. The reason that I say that is that they have been competing at a higher level each week in recent times. Bruce has his team beginning to believe that they are supposed to win on a weekly basis. A true test will come in the next few weeks, whether or not they are able to continue to hold teams in check so they have an opportunity to win the game in the second half. Delattre seems that he can catch the ball no matter where Bruce hit him. If the complementary, outside receivers do their job and catch the rock the Trojans will be playing into July. Its just that simple catch the ball felllahs.
Overachievers- Off to a shaky start initially as the team did not have their personell in place until the past few weeks. An impressive showing versus the Nomads making the game a one possession contest for the entire game. A far cry since their last meeting against the Nomads in the playoffs. The Nomads showed up again this time for the Overachievers and if they had a little more offense they would have potentially handled the Nomads in a way they haven’t been yet. But that is merely speculative. Sasso is beginning to put his own mark on this team taking what the defense is giving them and not ever showing emotion that he may or may not be rattled. Stone cold he gets it done and the team has shown flares of not skipping a beat since Tony faithfully departed from the organization. Overachievers play better as a team then 90% of the league never get on each other to continue their legacy of winning and losing as a team…
Panthers-Early on had some talent and won a key victory over the talented Trojan team who apparently was struggling to find themselves. The reason why I bring that up is because since that game the two teams Trojans and Panthers went in opposite directions. Panthers have been balling yet possessing a depleted crew. Pallet shot out of a cannon and intercepted a Sasso pass putting his team 1st down and goal from the one inch line. The Predators scored and if they only had some more depth that they had in week one, this team also had the ability to turn the corner. Myron has been showing flashes of greatness more times than not. This is a tough game, its not easy to win week in and week out. Sacrifices are made to playing time and the breaks of the game may seem like you are always on the wrong end of the outcome. Sometimes large rosters look great on paper but its just paper. This game is a commitment from the first whistle to the last. Any doubt therein maybe this sport isn’t for you…

Overachievers stood thier ground amongst the well depthed Nomadics on Sunday. Chris Carr took a bit of a pounding early on but was rewarded with a key Defensive PI on a comeback route which prolonmged a late drive in the first half. Carr culminated the drive with a hard fought TD reception to set the tone for the early afternoon affair. John John seemed to struggle early on with Lamont gaining ground pressure inch by inch. Lamont was able to halt a few drives with two batted balls and a sack. At total of 5 batted balls occured in this contest dont remember saying that before. The Nomads had a bagful of batted balls themselves from Devon who played a key role in the rush N attack. The game was a stalemate exchanging multiple punts ultimately crediting the defensive fronts of both teams. The veteran McClain was key in third down situations and gave JJ a good solid target to check down on. The Towards the final minuetes JJ busted loose again and Karaoked his way into the endzone for an apparent game winning TD but was called for a subjective jumping violation that was much to the disliking of Nomad nation.Nomads were halted on the drive and turned it back to the Overachievers. The penalty added a renewed drama in the game, while making the contest a one possession affair to the final seconds. After the turnover, the Overachievers struggled to make it to midfield and elected to punt with just under 2 minutes of gameplay. On the ensuing drive JJ was able to scrable by the finger tip flag pull of Lamont and gain key yardage near the first down mark. At this time the Nomads just needed a first down to ice the game as the Overachievers spent thier TOs. Nomads gained the first down and needed to attempt one play to end the game. Good Game fellas.....
The Ducks seemed to have all of theirs in a row as they began to warmup for a game against the Panthers. Early on Myron was able to continue consecutive drives into the redzone to put the Panthers ahead but fell short of paydirt turning the ball on downs more than necessary putting the ball back in the hands of Bob O and the Ducks offense. Tom Tom was on top of his game with matching Doan with two Tds and topping them off with a pair of PATs. These two seemed virtually uncovered as they scorched through the secondary at will. The Panthers had no defensive answer for Bob Os onslaught who seemed to have his offense at full disposal victimizing the Panthers of potential defeat.
Tune Squad entered the day undefeated an looked to carry their mark beyond the Predators. The Predators salivated on other thoughts of their own. After Kaleem digested a few holding penalties the defense of the Predators began to settle down and slow down the offensive of Tune Squad. Kaleem led the charge snagging an INT and tracing it down the sideline for a TD blowing by any transitional flag pullers by Tune Squad who seemed beleaguered that the play even occurred. Fads initiated his own triple play TD performance to lead all receivers while again subbing as the teams Full time OC. Tune Squad was only able to muster two TDs while the Predators continued to strike with the long dart. During the closing seconds, Bruce picked off the last attempt by Tony and the Predators scored on the ensuing drive. Tune Squad Challenged them to go for two while the Predators obliged them. Heated exchanges occurred as a result while setting up a rematch in the playoffs should be more interesting than ever for the BCFFL.
Action Park came out scoring for the first time this season to the expense of the Americans. James and Jordan led the Park each cashing their Park tokens in with a pair of TDs. Cap, Dillon and William led the assault by the Americans but is surely wasn’t enough as the Park imposed their veteran will on them and digested the Victory with some degree of relief.
Thunder was coming off a tough loss while a sight for sore eyes relied on the presence of the Freshmen Blackhawks. The Blackhawks have not achieved a victory to this point but that doesn’t diminish their performance as they seem to be getting a little better on a weekly basis. Cannuli has been balling and the league has witnessed the prospective talent. Caleb, Kevin and Thomas each had three Tds to lead the charge for Thunder. Cannuli showed why he belongs in the league with a pair of TDs and Dan doing his best to contribute with a TD reception on his behalf.
Squad entered the final leg of the late morning undefeated and rode into Btown with gleem of a dream.
Blaine took one for the team as Shyron cleaned his grill initially early onsetting the Tone Locally. Good plan by Shyron to knock him down and scurrr the Bejesus out of him for the rest of the game and it was noticeably influenced his performance. By the way the Soft rules prevailed and Shyron was indeed called for roughing as he should have. The mindset of Squad may have offset the possibly entering the game on a synthetic High. It was the Bruce and Pony show for real. Week in and week out I have been saying that this team competes no matter who the opponent is. Trojans seek more repetitions to march into the playoff season on a positive leg. It is beginning to show in recent weeks as Bruces confidence overlooked the record of the Squad and just came out firing at will. Flex helped him out underneath on more then one occasion which contributed to a passing streak. Blaine was able to get busy with his feet as the game progress adding his third consecutive running TD in recent weeks. Thats becoming quite a weapon as long as he keeps his wooly hat and glasses on, becuse the Clark Kent approach is appealing for ya but you are no superman for sure. None of us are for that matter. Tom Tom helped Blaine out with a pair of Tds and dont forget on the media page that This guy is legitimate on both sides of the ball as long as his bionic leg is well oiled. Trojans just had too much roster and were able to fly all day scoring a bit more at will then the Squad had to offer. Rel held his own sack and paired for two TDs again putting him up for the all purpose yardage in the BCFFL. For the Trojans put them ahead for good with his second TD reception of the morining. It wont be a shocker if these two teams meet again in the nearby playoff round.
Oilers and Docs came into action in missing man formation. Bob relinquished his responsibility to his team again contest so it set the scene for a quiet morning. For the Most part…TJ opened up the game with a Td reception drawing first blood for the Oilers. Hector was balling on both sides for Docs blanketing the deeper routes and helping underneath when needed. Beef had the rythym going with longer huddles than usual, due to the lack of subs, and utilizing the talents present. Imran lost a chunk of his helmet with a collision from Hector who continued his demeanor into the second frame. John W began to get big in the beleaguered secondary of the Oilers and snagged a Td closing out the half and knotting the game at 14 apiece by halftime. The second half proved less than quiet as the competition began to build as both defenses became stingy in the redzone. TJ grabbed another TD in the second half while Imran came back into the game looking like a refugee and hauled in a 2 pointer that gave the Oilers a six point advantage. Joe Joe W had the ball in his hands for the final possession and poise began to kick in as he was able to drive his team down to the 15 yard line with few seconds left. On third down from the 15 Joe hit his bro John W and as he turned to the flat to stop the clock out of bounds the Oilers defender pinned his body against the Docs receiver inhibiting his sideline progression. Holding was called protests ensued since practically no one was able to see the action on the far side of the field. Docs was awarded the timeout based on the penalty and giving Mike an opportunity to haul in the potential game winning TD. However Docs could not convert on the PAT and the Oilers had their life back. Oilers won the toss elected Defense and Docs could not get a yard on two plays. Beef semi rolled on his first possession and threw a cutter to Tye who dove laterally across the front of the endzone snagging the cutter for the game winning TD. It appeared that both flags were not in the endzone at the time of the catch but the goaline is infinite east and west and it was deemed a legal catch based on the flag positioning at the time of the reception. Replay would have been great for this play…..
Nukes returned this week almost at full bore. While the Goonies did not feel that this week was an important matchup for them as they struggle to make an onetime appearance. e Weekly MV was a one man wrecking crew and put on a show penetrating the goal line for 4 Tds accompanied by two interceptions that put this contest completely out of whack. Kareem made himself happy with a Td to support his cause of a good sportsman. Without a viable QB you do not have a chance to compete no matter how athletic you are or think you are. Nukes were eager to get back into the W column while establishing some rhythm that they did not possess in weeks. Stanley puts himself in the talks among the tops in the league for those who are counting behind their backs. The Nukes have a handful of players that can outperform, do they have enough footballs to go around?
Some of these recent accusations mimics CSI. Everytime a flag it thrown it seems to increase the claim that the league is in suspect of a looser interpretation of the rules. I can tell you this that I have not seen more yellow in crucial situations alot in recent weeks. Let us not dwell oin the fact that most of these penalties are mistakes by players. It is nearly impossible to get it all right on our part. Those who are held at the higherst standard of the sport making six figures utilizing technology, STill Cant get it right.
What I have seen is yellow occuring at the most dramatic portion of the games. As the head hatter I can honestly regard that the Leagues Officals are not scurrred to throw a flag.
Please realize that we are in an interpreative judgmental position in a sport which some may hold us in the highest criticism of failure. Competition is on the rise throughout the league so critisism and blame become easier as emotions flair. It is a thankless positon only the few can absorb the criticism. Please be mindful that our beloved crew will not be shamed into fear of making the wrong judgement since the game breeds mistakes. Instead let the focus be on your own team and minimising thier mistakes should be the number one priority, not some synthetic rationale conveyed to your teamates because you broke the rule. Teams that limit mistakes are successful and put themeselves en route to a Championship Run. Its that dam simple! Dont ever let judgement become a roadblock rather let it be the iginition of mutual motivation for success on the next play, and the rest of the season.
Happy Mothers Day.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SPONSORED BY TOPPS TRADING CARDS...
Oilers renewed their old rival matchup against the Park. Though their records are opposite in the Win column it is to be reminded that it wasn’t long ago that these two teams were in the finals together along the Bypass. A lot of things have changed since then. Crimson Tide I meant Oilers have kept their core together and demonstrated that early against the Park with a 40 yard strike from Beef to Woods just like the olden days. The Park has been beleaguered by vacation trips, bartmitsfas and christenings and really hasn’t had a consistent squad in back to back weeks. This past Sunday they were able to return almost to full tilt while the Oiliers just flat out care less and wanted a W to keep pace with the Cream of Top Wheat. Action Park was able to trade TDs for most of the game and kept it within a score by halftime. TJ and Moose picked up the load offensively putting the Oilers ahead permanently.
The Trojans have been playing close games in the first quarter of the Spring edition. With the Ducks possessing soft coverage without a viable rusher one would trace this game to be a potential blowout. Rel Richardson had the opportunity to get loose and put his team up without contest but another one landed between his wings in consecutive weeks. Bob 0 was able to hit his favorite target Tommy who acclaimed a multiple TD performance. It wasn’t enough as, Bruce kept pushing the ball down the field when the Trojans needed it most. For the first time this year the Trojans were able to kneel the ball down and let the clock roll to victory.
Docs returned their streak to face the Amer We Cans who are still celebrating their teams first season vicory over the Goonies putting them into the Drivers seat to make the playoffs. Since Docs lost to the Goonies they have been getting better offensively on a weekly basis. Mike ate his Wheaties and washed it down with Suds and digested his first TD Hat Trick of his beloved career. Johnny also continued his TD streak, streaking down the sideline for a pair himself. The Feldmans could not replicate the performance they had in recent weeks while Docs seems to be headed on an upswing. As for the Americans a pivitoal game versus the Park will determine thier fate heading into the final turn of the regular season schedule.
Myron seemed to have trimmed the fat away from his roster and saved the league some extra noise, ear plugs, bandaids and civil disorder this past Sunday. JJ Swatt and Caruso were fit as can be and inserted back into the lineup. The Blackhawks arrived with some familiar faces in Rhodes and company. The winless Blackhawks were able to maintain compeative series throughout most of the contest. When the Blackhawks were on the defensive Joe Devlin isolated his mind and body and sould glow to focus on the play calling and how to implement his new acquisitions. For Real?
Despite a late Hail Mary to from Myron to Devon this game could have been closer as a result. Pallet and Evan each had a TD with Devon stealing the show with a pair to lead all receivers. If the Blackhawks are able to maintain their newly adjusted roster and get better QB play from Devlin they may be able to see the light out of the cellar in their first season. Myron and the Panthers were happy to ingest a victory this past Sunday and are trying to move on from the past two losses that may have initiated a conspiracy theory.
The Nukes were attired in all black uniforms and did not appear to be poised to engage in competition at all.
It was almost as if they were returning from a funeral. Tune Squad had other ambitions and on the second play from scrimmage, Tony hit Wonesh on a Post route in which seemed as if it was rehearsed because it simply was not contested by the once stout D of the Nukes. The Nukes were minus a couple of standouts but that doesn’t take away from the participation of Dardis, Stanely and Frizzle who are above average players in an All Star Game. Ermi had his issues with not having the subs he normally utilizes. Weekly MV Ramos was in Ermis face all day and recorded 6 ½ sacks forcing miss thrown balls and a safety to complete one of the best days for a rusher in BCFFL history. Besides that the Tunes were playing with the sychronizm of a polished team. Danny Terry O had two TDS with some sick catches made by the supporting cast. Tony has promised the league and I that he will issue Topps Flag Football cards so we can all familiarize ourselves with the new prospects so the league doesn’t come under complete SHOCK of this continued avalanch that occured this past Sunday.
Goonies struggled to be on time once again against the Predators who seemed as relaxed as always. Guy Fiery hasnt made a public appearance in weeks as he has had too many commitments from Marlboro.
On any given down the league has been witnessing OC Fads relaying the play call in the huddle. He broke out with some more creativity utilizing the throwback consistently on two point attempts. Bruce led all recievers with two Tds while Lance and Keith each scoring as well. Predators easily handled the Goonies until the Outlaw QB finally showed and had the team in the redzone multiple times only to cash in on the last and only drive and it was a bit too little too late. Predators will gauge exactly where they stand with the Cream as the Tune Squad is slated for contest this Sunday.
The last matchup between the Squad and Nomads seemed to be an epic one in the making. For about thirty minuets of gametime neither team made paydirt. Nomads ended up winning the game a mere 18-0 sending much pride into Squad nation. Since then Squad as re acquired their old QB Blaine Ulmer who returned from Florida with a new agenda and mindset. In simple terms Blaine has been playing his ASS off in recent weeks and demonstrated how and what it takes to become a productive leader in this venue. In this matchup Squad drew first blood and broke a 50 minute scoreless streak against the Nomadic machine. Weekly MV Roc muscled his way between defenders catching enough air and splitting the defense after receiving a well thrown pass by Ulmer, in which he was able to cut up field and cross the endzone demonstrating that the Squad can match the physicality of the Orangemen. JJ had some issues offensively tossing the pigskin high and wide on multiple attempts. After a few stalled drives Lee thought it was best to switch JJ back to receiver and take the helm himself. By that time Squad was up by two Tds and the Nomads began to press a bit more offensively. Lee was able to buy himself time on a semi roll and hit JJ in the endzone for a rare dropped pass and revelation that this may not be the Nomads day after all. Squad capatlized on the next possession with Conner breaking through the secondary to put his team up by three possessions. Roc led all receivers with two TDs multiple passes and demonstrating that his team was there to play and not just show up to win. Squads 5-0 mark is the first in franchise history and with the schedule remaining may find themselves in the driver’s seat for the Divisional Crown. As for the Nomads, the league knows that they will be there in the end, the question is at this point who will be the QB or does it even matter at all…
The most compeative game that I witnessed all day happened to be the Thunder Overachiever contest which was the first leg of the morning and I figured to save the best for last even though it happened first..
At first the Thunder appeared to have the upper hand as the Overachiever QB, Sasso, was not in attendance at least initially. Inserted momentarily in his place was their backup QB for the first few drives. The members of the Thunders eyes began to widen seeking the advantage. Offensivley Thunder began to move the ball at will with QB Brian Alphabet hitting Caleb on multiple deep passes, which turned, into a two possession game early on. Quietly the soft spoken, poised gunslinging Weekly MV Sasso entered the contest and sparked the OA offense. From that moment forward OAs offense began a Renaissance and did not miss a beat the rest of the game scoring on each of their possessions. The Thunders reliance on the deep ball became costly as Stevenson began to close the gap and accumulate sacks upon Thunders offensive. Haas stole was the recipient of most of the offensive display by Sasso who now began to pull the trigger on all his weapons late into the second half. Kojo, Corey and Jordan each had a TD to support the initiative which at the end of the day left the Thunder in the dust because they were too much to handle. OA was able to accumulate 32 points in just over a half which supports the theory that this team may be back on track to a playoff run. I could tell by the conversations after the game that despite being on the losing side of the contest Thunder may have learned some of their defficiancies this past Sunday. The Ability to recognize your deficiencies and improve on them at this juncture is a positon that most teams are not in at this time.
THE GARBAGE LEFT ON THE FIELD HAS BEEN BEYON OUR CONTROL PLEASE POLICE YOUR SIDELINE AS ADDRESSED IN THE LEAGUE GUIDELINES
THANK YOU

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SPONSORED BY ROOSTER JACK IS POSTED ON THE SITE.
Nukes had thought they had the upper hand prior this Sunday. Ermi and company had blanked his ex-comrades at the Frisby game in Mercer. Earlier that morning tempers were flailing high and those in fear thought this would be a continuance in Bordentown. The Predators did not speak any of the sort as if nothing occurred earlier that Sunday with their new acquisitions. Predators seem to be stacked on both sides of the ball. Predators went to buisness drawing first blood with an early TD. Diamond slang a 70 yard missile to Lance with only a few seconds expiring from the starting whistle. The Predators added a second TD to Kalleem who made his impact apparent immediately on defense slowing the offenses down taking four holding penalties on the chin. This practice seems to have worked as it frazzled the mind of Frizzle and the entire Nukes offense. Fads was the focal point in the huddle being suggestive tacking the OC position. While initiating the teams play calling and actually designing plays for the Predators, they were able to live up to the execution without incident. Hard to do without practice or exibition first...
Ermi suddenly found some offensive spark and looked to have the Predators lead split in half and on fourth and goal from the one yardline before the halftime gun.
Ermi chucked up a pick 6 that was galvanized down by committee achieving paydirt as the halftime gun sounded. By the second half the game simply got out of hand another two interceptions created by the Predators D that iced the easy victory with Bruce, Terrance, and Fads each adding a TD in the final frame.
After trading early possessions, the Oilers were able to jump out to a 6-0 lead at halftime over the Tune Squad. Snell re injured his leg and could not be a factor for the rest of the game which may have gave the Tunes more opportunities that they had planned for. The Tunes played enough defense to keep Tony in the game just enough to find a way to execute against the pressure generated by White Moss. Mike Woods added a pair of TDs to his collection. However, the Oilers who typically are money when it comes to PAT could not generate neither of their attempts. Tony seized an opportunity to find CO MV Danny Terry-0 who snagged two balls out of the air tying up the game while showing Tony that he has a reliable target down the road.
Action Park did not really show up versus Docs. Alex had a big catch crossing over the midline showing off the strength of his hands between three Docs defenders. Besides that not much to talk about offensively for the Park. Docs put on an offensive show with Bob flagging down a 50 yard reception passing by fellahs half his age. After he scored Bob began to brag how proud he was that he is able to obtain a senior citizen discout at the Pub. From no on Breath and his teamates are able to consume Sunday afternoons without maxing out the debit card. Indeed it was quite a show as Docs threw the long dart on every possession John W had a pair of TDs to lead all recievers while Hector, Johnny and Mike also contributing to the onslaught. Seems like Big Joe hasn’t figured out things yet offensively but the league knows that this team always comes out of the gate slow and seems to always make a run just before playoffs.
On the east side of the Park the Americans drooled as they watched the Goons walking onto the field and the possibility of a victory looming. Karreem seemed to summon a QB this past week to lead his offense as he is finally convinced that he is not the answer at the positon. Goonies were only able to muster 13 points as it wasn’t enough to thwart weekly MV D Feldman from catching the game winning ball and bring his fellow Americans a victory.
Squad only showed up with a limited crew and did not think twice about it. With the Ducks underperforming defense, Blaine figured to be able to distribute the ball with ease. Conner and Roc each had a pair of TDs to lead all receivers with Mike contributing with one himself. Squad led the game for the most part while Ducks led by Spence with a pair of TDs who continues to have multiple TD games as long as he shows up on time. Bob 0 put his team in a position to win late but if it wasn’t for a pair of Ints this game may have been a little closer. Squad prepares to take their undefeated record against the incumbent champion the Nomads this Sunday. The last matchup was a defensive stalemate with Squad barely able to move the ball. With Blaine back at the helm and the offense clicking, may initiate a different outcome then the last shutout they incurred vs the Nomadics.
Kevin Eckman drank his Rooster Jack and recorded three scores this past weekend and the Thunder was still in a late tussle with their former QB Bruce of the Trojans. Sinve their departure Bruce has joined the Gym signed three dozen contracts and continues to have a culmultive record hovering around .500. But numbers shouIdnt mean anything or should they? Well I will get to that later. It is to be noted more that Highlighted that Krazd took a medium range pass and cut it into the teeth of the Trojan defense blowing past all team speed even Rel couldnt catch him Sunday. And this happened on more than one instance.
Oh by the way, Caleb added the final Td in regulation before being on the receiving end of the game winning OT point. The Trojans do not surrender talent on their team by no stretch of the imagination. The Thunder definitely took a back seat in the talent ON PAPer ONLY, not to take away from any of ShowTime’s attributes but it is what it is. In the end the Thunder is now 3-1. While the Trojans have the reciprocal 1-3 mark at this point which is no indication of the contested play this team has every game thus far has been the result of a one possession affair. More of the teams responsiblities should be based on the performance of Delattre who knows and understands what is needed to be successfull offensively and takes the blame when blame is needed.
Back to the Numbers.. The Trojans stand alone to have the Point Diff Balance north above the mean but it does not reflect in thier record...
If any league particiapant wants a sample of Rooster Jack there will be a coupon voucher in this weeks Canals Circular

Overachievers breathed a sigh of relief when they looked at the schedule this past Sunday. The Blackhawks have been given a bout of bad luck with the schedule at hand opening up to the leagues best teams three out of the first four weeks. Overachievers needed to get back on track as they did in a hurry last week. Hass had a pair of TDs to lead all receivers as they cruised their way to .500 to put them back on track for a playoff run. The Blackhawks have been suffering from personnel issues, and look to add some players to their skeleton crew that have a winning commitment. A word to the wise is to keep your head up fight through the inaugural year because it is a true test of your brotherhood, will and desire to play the game… This game is a true test of unity from many perspectives.
The Last Standing Leg of the Day was the Late traveling Nomads versus the Panthers who were limited in personnel as well. Both teams utilzed subs that included Roc for the Squad and Alex from AP. As for the game I cant tell you that I immediatley digested and forgotten since I was yelled at for a game that I did not Officiate. Season to season rules get put on microscope as they should in a league for the players by players. The issue of contact seems to have more gray then one may or may not interpret. What I saw in the Nomads game was aggressive flag pulling by players who know how to pull flags. Proper flag pulling technique occurs while the defender demonstrates an intrention to pull the flag. If any gross contact occurs without of an attemted flag pull by defender than contact penalty will be enforced based on the degree of the contact. (Upper Body Neck and Head is automatic. It is that simple.
In the situation with Panther reciever the Defender showed an exemplanary attempt to pull the flag. Period. Did contact occur..Yes... simultaneously from my eyes and and excellent flag pull attempt by the defender. The emotions carried -and I get that. This venue of football can be frustrating. I cannot strees more first contact with the offensive players body should be an attemtped flag pull.. If gross contact occurs without the commission of a flag pull attempt that said plauyer is subject to a contact penalty..

First Quarter Progress Report sponsored by Lifelock.
So far this season the matchups have been like warmups for the elite teams of the league. For the Bottom feeders, it has been a drubbing. One way to look at it that the worst defeats are in the past, so its time to foucus not give up and pick yourself up and move on. It wasn’t long ago when the Goonies had the upset of the century vs. Trump, so keep that in mind. The Schedule has benefited the teams with the highest seeds the previous season padding their stats in the first three games. For the most part teams have beenTuning up almost like a pre season.
It is indeed an opportune time for to see what new wrinkles that unfold with the addition of new players with old ones joining the adversary. With all that in mind I can say that the season is about to unfold in the weeks to come without hesitation.
This week’s matchup with the Nukes facing the Predators has a bit more flavor that it did in the past. The Nukes have subtracted personnel while adding some veteran leadership to fill the void and provide some role-playing capabilities that they did not have in the past. Ermi suggested a sign on bonus that included a year subscription to Lifelock to protect the interests of the players and the team. The Predators needed a player or two defensively to get through the grind of the season so they don’t burn out from injuries that slowed them down last season. The Fact that the Predators retained the former Nuke players will likely have an emotional impact attached to the matchup. These teams seem to both be at full tilt personnel wise and are looking to turn the corner on the season quickly leaving the other a few yards back in the dust.
Thunder found themselves .500 after squeaking through a threat by the Ducks a week prior. If Bob didn’t have that goofy camera on his head maybe the offense could of gotten out of the box on their first leg. The Thunder regained the challenge once again, last week with the Panthers. Initially the game was like visiting a library with each team trading possessions without any points. Myron showed the league that he has returned as a threat in the QB position and no longer be considered a bottom feeding player in the BCFFL. Hard work dedication to the craft really pays off. Late in the second half a key third down and long situation came upon the Thunder. QB Brian Alphabet hit Krazd Kevin on a deep out that Panther defender appeared to have lock on but an excessive contact foul occurred continuing the drive and icing the victory. The foul was challenged by the exuberant Panther entourage arguing the fact that the defender has the right to the ball. The Defender did not make any attempt to extend his hands to pull the flag, or bat the football.
Week 3 MV, Lee was laying on his couch with his potato pajamas when he received the call that his team was due for an appearance in Bordentown. It was an apparent mixup in communication with the schedule and with the patience exhausted by Bruce and his Trojans we were able to eventually get the last leg of the day on its way. Most teams would have said that they were already home and to forfeit. Hats off to the Nomads for coming through with their commitment and Bruce and company’s patience within.
As for the game the Trojans initially were able to have their way. The sideline painted a picture of an optimistic atmosphere. Then suddenly as it does so often for the Nomads they began to put a defensive plan off attack and executed stifling the Trojan offensive for the rest of the game. Bruce was on target for most of the contest and if it wasn’t for so many drops they would have likely convincingly achieved a victory. Week 2 MV Rel Richardson who blew the doors off the Overachievers D, did not impact this game in a positive way as he dropped a key long 50 yard bomb, while Flex added one of his own with a third and long drop that had plenty of Bordentown neutral ground in front of him. The Nomads took advantage of the miscues much like a Hungary Vulture or in this habitat a Buzzard. Offensively for the Nomads Jordan could not get it done and Lee had to be inserted to QB. After numerous stops by the Nomads D late it was just too many opportunities for the Old Veteran to not take advantage of. Weekly MV Lee Sharpe single handedly outperformed in the positon for the second half and was the highlight of the morning and with more possibly yet to come. This contest may have been the teaser to the Semi Final round of the playoffs with both teams likely to meet in that spot in June…
Action Park has struggled to find a win so far this season with the undefeated Tune Squad looming on the far opponent’s sideline. Tune Squad did plenty of Tuning in this game silencing the APs offense, which hasn’t been the same since the loss of Quick. Tony was not so restless in the pocket and easily imbedded his feet into the thick mud without ever being under duress, simply picking apart APs defense who also misses Smitty kicks in the rush position. It was too much for the struggling AP team to handle. Marcus is heading the defensive charge playing all the positions and also countering in an effort to return a pick 6. The team has a blend of veterans and young talent, interesting to see this new addition to the league develop….
Goonies have not fielded a QB since the week one victory over Docs. Kareem did his best QB stunt double performance to no avail in the end zone. Where the hell is the QB you guys had week one with the upset over Docs? Oilers seemed too well Oiled for the Gonnies. Oilers anticipate a higher seed in the playoffs in this Spring edition. Beef has showed in the past few weeks to be able to fling it the entire field. His weapons have not come to fruition as the Oilers have been taking chunks at will. I believe their deep threat weapons will emerge as the season progresses which potentially will make this team more dynamic than they have been in the past.
Bob-O had some day against the Blackhawks heaving 6 Tds with Josh and Spence doing the light work of a pair of TDs a piece to lead the offensive. The Blackhawks despite having only four players put up 28 of their own which is most impressive. Lord knows there’s a lot of free agents that need an awakening to come in and play D, time to get the word out that Blackhawk nation is in their infancy stage.
There was a sighting of LT Feldman who risen from the potato patch and entered back into the helm. Noone advised him that they were facing the Nukes this week who have more roll players than Peoples Bakery. The Feldmans were able to do their thang on one occasion making paydirt with the father son connection. Nico of the Nukes outplayed Rob, Frizzle and Ant with two TDs to lead the offensive. All eyes on the Predators now..
Squad has been playing tough games the past two weeks with a squeaker over the Panthers. Myron came out of his own shell against Squad tossing balls all over the Joe Lawrence Park. Isaiah once again led the Squad charge with two Tds. Myron was able to check the ball down to E on numerous occasions and if your able to give E the ball more than once on a possession, the offense is likely to score and the Panthers were ecstatic to have E at least for the week. It was Blaine’s legs that did the damage enough to confuse the defense into idling the Blitzer. Caruso was able to eventually figure the position out and put pressure on Blaine late adding a pair of sacks and inducing an Int. It was a bit too late as the Squad was able to counter attack on offense with a late TD to put them ahead by two scores.
Last Sunday, Jordan had the only hat trick of the day for the Overachievers while the shorthanded Squad was led by the Fancy Feast Feet of Blaine Ulmer who initiated his best Kaepernick impression. However he did not kneel before the kickoff. Tom and Rock had lone TDs to lead the charge for Squad as they improved to 3-0 putting themselves in a position to believe that they can win on a weekly basis. The Overachievers are still trying to stabilize the offense with consistency and seem to be giving the opponents more possessions that they have in the past. Their D has been on the field just a bit more for a winning appetite. With or without Tony the team displays class behavior and has enough roll players to give them a legitimate shot to win on any given Sunday.
Docs was finally able to get their offensive engine roaring into the 20s with Hector laying much of the ground work putting JoE W in third an manageables. Joe was able to hook up with his brother early on for a big TD grab over the mid heighten Defense of the Predators. Noone knew that the Predators had signed the Nukes defection before this Sundays game as it look to pay dividends defensively. The Predators were able to slow the Pubs offensive down and turnovers became touchdowns more often than not. Lance once again led all receivers with 2 TDs and seems to be back into complete gameday shape. While Keith and the free agent flag football whore Monger Bruce also contributed in his debut, each adding a TD to their respective collections.
We will be returning to the field behind Peter Muscual, the field drier than ever and was lined once again by our resilient grounds crew.
See You Sunday
BK
Week One Sponsored by Milk.
In the offseason for those of you that havent been plugged in the Nomads won the nationals in Florida. The past few months the Nomads have been on idle shaking off battle wounds. This was apparent when the veteran Lee
time again was shaking the rust off his hands from a two-month layoff since the Nomads .
Thunder had a bit of timing issues as well with the streaking Thomas being overthrown by QB Brian Alphabet on numerous instances. Quite surprinsing since this unit has been scrimaging more then most this offiseason. Then again it was the Nomads and nothing like gameday speed. Caleb bailed as he does picking the whole team up with a senasational grab deep in the post leaping into the endzone while making the catch giving the Thunder the lead late in the game. John John said enough with that and reared back and fired one about 60 yards in the air to Adamo who scorched the Thunder D with his second TD of the game and silenced the crowd that began to gather believing they were witnessing a Nomad defeat. The game was knotted up at 13 and both teams submitted into an overtime frame. The Nomads won the toss elected to go on offense and scored on their first attempt putting the pressure on Thunder to tie by making paydirt on their first. The Thunder failed to convert and the Nomads walked away with a victory despite all the dropped balls and mistakes. This is what good teams do….
Krazed thought the head hatter did not clock the punt fair in his view of 5 .7 seoconds eclipsing off the clock. I did some research and it states that nfl average of hang time for punts taxis around 4.3 seconds per punt. Taking into account that there are no nfl punting prospects in the BCFFL it is highly unlikely that someone can have a hangtime orbitng that average. Based on that and if it the goal of your industry at that time to milk the clock you shoud advise said punter to hold the ball for specified amount of seconds then punt the ball and I think you will see more milk being spilled....Milk does a franchise good pass it on....Its all good though Im engaged in my craft as well.
Docs team captain Breath requested that they played a winnable and somewhat intermitant time of day since he may or may not attend the game. Or maybe it was the fact this was the first week Joe
W threw a football since he was benched by the Squad last season for lack luster performances. Bob and his Breath were indeed absent again while the Goonies simply did not give a FuQ about any of that nonsense. With their Spartan esk type QB distributing the ball for young yardage in a semi sloppy game put himself at 1-0 by just simply keeping it stupidly simple, throw and catch. Everyone on the Goons participated in a well fought game despite some rust initally with thier new weapons. Kareem and company along with thier entourage celebrated their openening day vicitoy the way they do because nothing like going 1-0 on opening day.
K
Panthers new look faces posed a desire to start a winning tradition all in on attiring the deep-sea camouflage this past weekend. Dr Kimble initiated the attack settling into the flat for Myron’s contingency plan of dumping off and taking what the defense is giving them. Bruce and his hybrid Trojan team came out smoking with a bomb to Rell who was able to easily get behind the Panthers D. After the long toss Bruce looked onto the sideline and said it’s there all day whenever we want to. Panthers hung tough though with A Arroyo and Serrios complementing each other on both sides of the ball making this game less than a 10 yard fight. It is worth noting that Serrios also made a 40 yard TD grab on a ball that most Trojans doubted that Myron could hit. However Serrios clearly pushed off just enough to get the flag though he likley didnt need too because of the properly thrown ball by the "worst QB in the league" Truth is Myron is plugged into the belief that he can do it on any given down without being shoook. Cant say that for all but the few are bright. Shyron self proclaimed that he is the supreme rusher in this league. Confidence applauded. What is not clear to mind is the fact that Shy choses to rush part time? With that in mind, Myron had enough gull to ignite his team on scoring drives initiated by a few its tossed over by Bruce. The Panthers were able to hold to a late lead handing the ball back to the Trojans who had it in their mind that they were losing to the “worst QB in the league.” On third and long Bruce dropped back and observed an apparent receiver about to clear with the rush in his face threw the ball high and wide just enough for Serrios to snag it out of the air on an awesome grab landing one foot down in bounds for the legal Int and MV of week one. Serrios was engaged in this game and simply wanted it more than these eyes seen wide shut.
Predators had sleepy junk falling out of their eyes walking onto to the field slower than an old mailman. The Bugar Sugar Eyed Squad mustered a 13-0 lead over the Oilers despite barely being awake last Sunday. Oilers sputtered their first few offensive drives without the ability to stretch the ball blanketed by the Predators D that had been flying to the ball early and often. The Oilers were able to overcome some miscues and drops by their veteran arsenal and began to surmount a comeback scoring before the halftime whistle. With all the possession receivers that the Oilers have they were able to tie the game up late by taking chunks of field without contest. Predators never really got back into offensive consistency and it costly proved yet again to be the Achilles heel in this matchup as they had their opponent gasping again but could not put the final nail in the coffin. Olilers were able to have just enough offense with Pat M crossing paydirt for the go ahead Pat despite having his flags hidden under a sweatshirt which the league is reviewing.
Squad came out with some of their ring of fire players like backup Qb Ulmer returning for the season. On the flipside, the Blackhawks add some rookies to the league sprinkled in with some veterans. The Blackhawks struggled offensively as most new teams do. Joe Devlin takes the inaugural helm for the Hawks who have to look to nail down an offensive philosophy utilizing the talents at hand. Squad was able to click on all cylinders as the Blackhawks struggled with consecutive completions. Isaiah Redmond led all receivers on the day with 3 Tds and plans to continue his streak this week versus the Panthers who both find themselves undefeated during this young season. For the Blackhawks moving forward have to find their rhythm with making it easier for their QB by creating separation on short to intermediate routes.
Overachievers had a surprising change at the helm with Sasso leading the charge while putting Tony on waivers to be claimed by his friends on the Tune Squad. Sasso knows what it takes to win and has demonstrated as recent as the Semi Finals against the Nomads. During their Semi Final exit, OA offense was nonexistent until the emergence of the Sasso, which almost brought the team back from what appeared to be a dominating performance by last year’s Champion initially. So now the question is-Is it the QB or the system. With all that said, the OA matchup versus the Ducks may have been a laugher in years past. Bob-O was able to lift his teams intensity with his loud cries for help with the officials. Spence and Josh had success of gaining separation last season and continued their trade being able to score with Spence leading the charge with a multiple TD performance. Overall the Ducks were able to compete throughout most of the game. Sasso had too many weapons
Typically Nukes Action Park games the defenses stay home while the barn burns. Not so much this past Sunday as the Parks offense could not keep up with Ermis offensive as he was able to toss 5 Tds. The Nukes opened up with some defensive additions in Dardis to contribute to the Championship quest that the Nukes have in their minds. Alex and Smittys lone TDs were just not enough as the Nukes were able to build a convincing lead. If these two teams somehow meet in the playoffs later this spring I am confident that the barn will once burn again.
Tonys Tune Squad had the late edition to the first week with a matchup against the Americans which are considered factions from the Tribe and Kitten Crushers in case you didn’t know. The Americans had their hands full of the Tony 's T-Squad as they nearly put up 40 pts. Jarvin led all receivers and tied Redmon for a hat trick ogfthree TDs of his own right versus the Americans. Quite a performance on both sides of the ball for the T-Squad. Didnt get much information on who the Americans QB was this year and rumor has it that the LT retired in the offseason but paces around on Sunday morning contemplating his decision. Alot of talent on the Americans side of the ball just need a Maestro to stand up and bring it all together.
Finals:
Nomads patiently arrived and did not bother to warm up and acted accordingly with a been there done that before like attitude. The Championship games surface was the real question. as it began to thaw on the outer crust leaving a hard surface beneath making for the slickest of surfaces. The Nukes did little of their own to warm up and get used to the tricky surface that played a major role in the outcome. The first half opened on intial first drives with a stalemate on the scoreboard with both teams trying to stretch the field attempting to gain control of the opponent with little success. JJ put one in the hands of two Nukes defenders neither of which could come up with the catch which would have put them in a position deep within the Nomads territory during a thirsty scoring session. Nukes were able to hold off the initial Nomad surge and Pelikan cleared through his route and Ermis progressions and drifted 10 yards behind the defense and turned the wrong direction on the route and could not connect with Ermi. After surviving the blown coverage, the Nomads were capitalized with a long drive ending in a TD hookup between Tony and JJ. Nukes dug deep and surmounted an offensive drive late in the first half being aided by a highly contested roughing the passer foul that gave them a healthy first down just before midfield accented with an unsportsmanlike penalty, Wtih the final seconds of the half ticking away Ermi was able to lock onto Warren for a TD and close out the half with an added the PAT to go up by one on the scoreboard. This seemingly provided the Nukes with a positive outlook in the second half. While the Nomads eyes began to widen in determination, vowing not to allow any points from that moment going forward and recognizing again that minor individual errors coould be solved as a team.
In the second half Lee set the tone with a feisty pass rush that enabled him to lock down and bat the football back on second down putting the Nukes in a predictable third and long, which they began to find themselves in this situation on numerous possessions. Neither team really moved the ball well in the first half, however the Nomads seem to warm up offensively and were becoming harder to defend for the Nukes especially for the fact that the Nukes were not rushing JJ most of the time. Nomads found themselves in the redzone on most possessions but could not put the game away. Marvel was able to cross the goaline for the Nomads for the first score of the second period. Nukes continued not being able to convert a first down but their defense played well enough to keep them in the game until the final possession. As the final minutes ticked away, the Nomads were confronted wit a fourth and goal situation on the 7 yard line. The Nukes rose to the occasion and were flying all over a tipped ball that they were able to secure just before it touched the semi-frozen surface. Nukes pulse was apparent as they had one last possession to take the lead. Ermi drove his team close to midfield and the team was left with a 4th down and a few yards away for a new set of downs and a chance to win the Championship. Frizzle broke an inside move towards the flood then broke to the outside creating separation. With loads of daylight in front of him, ERmi placed the ball just in front of his receiver Frizzle who likes to catch the ball with his body most of the time. Frizzle was forced to catch the ball clean with his hands and could not make the play for a first down and potential long gain for the Nukes. Turnover on downs to the Nomads and Chris Carr’s last reception was the most important of the game as JJ hit him near the sideline for his tenth reception of the game in which he was able to shake off two apparnent Nuke flag pulling defenders and scored putting the game out of reach of the Nukes.
It can easily be determined that the Nomads are the highest ranking team in the tri state area. That being said the BCFFL did not make it easy for them to achieve thier second title. The Nomads defeated the incumbant Overachievers very handedly in both thier meetings. The Nukes were able to hold the Nomads to 6 points and had the halftime lead and were defeated in the MCFFL by a one point margin. The Predators were able to oust the Nomads in a second half in an offensive barnburner that was one for the ages. Nomads usually never allow an offense to dictate to them. The Nomads defense is definitely thier strong point while the opposition realizes this and never seem determined to challenge it.
Since the Overachievers won the MCFFL, the BCFFL has been put on the table of discussion as becoming a more competative league. The days of Trump having the league paved for them are Over. My first season as an Official in the Delanco league was grim at best for teams being able to compete with each other not even mentioning the slightest possibility of competing in tournaments and veteran teams from other leagues. The games were tighter then ever this past season calls were scrutinized ever more as they should when the games are on the line, which occured more often than in seasons past. The first week of the season was an indication, when the Thunder went up against the O who were stacked on both sides of the ball. The O really didnt think anyone would compete with them in the league and in the first game despite winning, they got more than they bargained for.
In recap The Thunder, Predators, Nukes, Action Park, Squad and Trojans all improved this season and were a play or two from continuing their season. The other teams in the league like the Panthers, Ducks and Crushers seem to make strides towards the second half of the year that could be contagious in the spring. Others like the Tide, D Birds were competative and maybe should have won more that the record indicates.
Who's the best team? Hopefully the tournament in a month or so will figure this all out?
Happy Holdiays Thanks for another great season!

F.N.L. and the Mystery Machine
Predators were waiting in the auxiliary parking lot with their head units playing, patiently waiting for Ermi and the Nukes to arrive. No warmups no stretching just hit the field and go to work seems to be the Predator way. The first half entailed more than a flurry of penalties. A holding call put the Predators in a 1st and goal situation on the 15yard line in which they were able to convert into a TD. With the score knotted up and tensions mounting the Nukes quickly found that the Predators weren’t in the playoffs by default. The Nukes appeared a bit more prepared especially with diversity in thier play calling. The talented Predators struggled in the short game for most of the contest and could not convert PATs and first downs on most attempts. Nukes were able to play a bit conservative late in the second half, giving the Predators multiple chances to take the lead. Nukes stout defense showed up and despite getting torched on some deep bombs by the Predators with a sick one handed catch by Peterson in full stride tight ropping the sideline for a TD. The Nukes were able to swallow some more pride and hold the Predators off just enough to obtain the victory and a Championship round berth for a mixed team of veterans and young journeyman coming together at the right time.
Ermi has been in the Championship round in the past with the Tide in which Stevenson had 6 sacks on Ermil and single handedly won the Championship for the OAs. Since then Ermi has showed his ability to rid the ball out of his hand quicker while having his receivers break their routes earlier. With his ability to precisely putting the ball his receivers paving the way for the Nukes to have an inside track on a title run. Ermis ability to negate the rush in his face will be the key to the Championship this Sunday. The pass rushers of both the Nomads and Nukes will be primarily infulence the outcome of the Championship. If the Nukes are able to move the ball efficiently as they have shown in recent weeks, the Nomads may have issues in a shootout since they are a defensively driven team at this juncture..
The Overachievers had planned a rematch against the Nomads since the week 8 embarrassment a few weeks back. Squeaks was a no show this Sunday therefore JJ took the helm for the Nomads. On OA's first drive Tonys offense was demonstrating postive ball distribution and utilized the enire field to make completions. However on fourth and goal on the 6 yard line, the OA offense sputtered and from that moment on with more dropped balls in one game then they had all season. OA had to play catchup for the remainder of the contest. The Nomads quickly went up top with a deep strike and after making paydirt, both teams began to protest that each was not utilizing the proper equpment and not using the equipment properly. After this total nonsense was mitigated the Nomads seem to wake up a bit offensively scoring on each of their next three possessions. Once the Nomads establisted nearly a four possession comfort, Tony suddenly recused himself from particiaption and put his street garments on faster than Clark Kent furhter denying his avialability for physical particiaption the remainder of the contest. Not to question anyones personal injuries it just wasnt clear if an acutual injury had occured or not. The chatter on the sideline seemed to be confused to the situation as well. Hopefully the answer is found in the Mystery Machine.
Sasso took the helm and on his first possession jsut before halftime and threw a pass to JJ who took it to the house to bring himeslf MV status. This seemed fruitless at the time but Sasso played brilliantly in the seocnd half knifing the ball into the teeth of the Nomads D continuoulsy. The Nomads began to play sloppy on offense a bit as well. If someone had advised me that the Nomads were not goint to score in the second half and win the game, I would have likely been in disbelief. That was the case and if the Overachievers limited their mistakes to -1 in the turnover ratio, the outcome may have been different despite who the QB was. Sasso was able to have effective drives putting the OA nearly in a one possession game while on offense. The Nomads were able to get the game clinching first down and without timeouts the game had expired as well as the OAs were denied on thier quest or a fourth consecutive Championship.
sunday SUnday SUNDAY!!!
Friday Night Lights Final Four sponsored by Civil War.
Nukes been have been trying to get back on course after losing a few arguments and the game against the Overachievers a few weeks back. Nukes do have a lot of talent and more credit goes Ermi who only has one football to distribute to this ego hungry team. Crimson Tide gave the Nukes a battle initially in the first half in the Divisionals. Without any viable deep threat being utilized and a seemingly unwillingness to play by the Tide, Nukes were able to take control of the second half defensively with Warren adding his second TD of the morning. Warren skied over the Tide secondary making it known that it is difficult to cover his high stature time again. Pelican highlighted the morning with a tremendous third down and long reception that took the air out of the Tides comeback. Tide just did not have that winning conviction that it once had this game nor this season. The league seems to be much more competitive than in previous seasons, especially when you take in account the possibility that any of the Final Four teams have the talent to take the next step forward..
Thunder has come a long way since requesting a low seed in the tournament this past summer. Eckman Inc found it was best at that time to rebuild. Since that sultry summer day, Thunder has been outplaying their opponent more often than not entering the playoffs against the team that ousted them a season ago that of the Goonies. The Goonies however decided that the previous night’s extracurricular events were more important and a smidge of cold weather only gave the Goons four horseman to work with. Conceding victory to the Thunder put them in a position to return to the final four with a potential win this past weekend versus the Predators.
The Predators came out smoking as they always do, scoring on each of their first scoring drives. Lance had a pair of Tds that set the tone for the Predators complimented by a dropped INT by the normally gifted handed Thomas and TD by another Thunder reciever which may have had a considerable determination on the outcome. Krazd Kevin was able to get his team back into the contest with a catch of an aerial bomb dropped by QB Brian Alphabet. Caleb scored late in the game putting his team in a position of a once possession game. On their final drive with under 40 seconds to go the Predators elected to go for a fourth and 15. QB Diamond swung it out into the flat at which time Keith went airborne with his feet just before the first down mark and the Thunder rose to the occasion with a dramatic fourth down stop and a chance to win the game. Thunders offense drove down to the 18 yard line and on the final play with no time Brian rolled to his right and flung it up in the area of Caleb who was swarmed by defenders in the endzone with the ball sailing a bit out of his catchable reach. Thunder played a valiant game and had a season of positive opportunities to carry them past the rebuilding era. While the Predators find themselves in unfamiliar territory and if they can play a little more conservative, offensively taking what the defense gives them making completions, a victory against the Nukes seems more achievable. Oh? You have to rush the passer too in this league…Rumor has it that Lance is suffering from a Hammy strain that may sideline him this Sunday. As for the Thunder they showed what breeds success for a franchise, a team of players dedicated to thier craft with same players showing up each and every week responsible for thier role. Thunder has a roster of players commited without egostically initiatiating a Civil War before during and after the game. This prototypical way to team build should be the blueprint for any franchise going foward.....
Nomads have been traveling up and down the east coast in search of a merger for their 9man squad. In recent times they may have forgotten they were the one seed with their emphasis on winning tournaments hence the rationale for the forfeit against the Nukes a few weeks back. Just prior to that week the Nomads ran into the Predators and by halftime believed to have a comfortable lead against what at the time the majority viewed the Predators as a post .500 team at best. The Predators utilized their gifted talent and came back in that contest and knocked the Nomads back a bit. Nomads had eyes on running through the league to just keep shape enough for their next tournament. The Nomads have been sputtering offensively and after a first half knockout of Squeaks on a legal contact by the Breath, no one knows who will start at QB this week. Squad played outstanding defensively putting pressure on Squeaks just enough to buy their offense a couple of three and outs and a few more punts then the Nomads had the entire season. The Squads offense lacked identity and execution as it struggled to move the ball into the redzone putting them in a position for manageable late downs. John John entered the game at QB late in the first half and Jarod intercepted a pass and returned it around the 30 yard mark but the Squads motion sick offense could do nothing with the turnover. The Squad declined to apply a controlled pressure on JJ and all together elected not to pressure him the rest of the contest. Chris Carr ran his infamous comeback route a half a dozen times and JJ was able to consistently hit him on the route that he has been running since the early 80s. Nomads defense took control of the game communicating on switches and calling for isolated zone coverages when necessary which ultimately led them to victory. Squad has off upswing going into the fall season especially with the additions of the old Docs Squad this season seemed to increase their competitiveness and the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles don’t play in the Spring could help this young but old Squad even more.
Nomads thrive on pure excellence and individually recognize thier mistakes and have the candid ability to self correct immediatley almost automatically during the game. A Nomad seems to look to the next down to proove that they were better than the previous or last play....
Since the Overachievers, meeting with the Nomads back in week 7 the team has been on track to win their fourth consecutive championship despite having some key injuries on their roster. A convincing second half win over the Nukes, and last week over the Money team aka LMA (MCFFL) has showed the BCFFL that this team is still playing on a high enough level to compete for a championship in any league. This past weekend the OAs hosted Action Park, which had a tease of a dogfight early with the OA going three and out offensively on the first two possession. King Alex dropped a key pass and pulled his own flag on another reception that may have changed the perplexing of the game early on. The Park could not convert on the Punts and gave the ball back to Tony one too many times and just before halftime, the Overachievers were on their way once again to put the game out of reach. 5 minutes into the second half after another stalled drive, Big Joe of the Park gave up the helm to Justin and despite driving the team down for a late TD, at that point it was way too little for too late.
This weeks contest against the Nomads posses anticipation for key matchups. One interesting matchup is if JJ plays QB will Lindsey’s normally stellar pressure be an impact on the fluency of the Nomadic offensive. Squeaks had a field day in their last matchup week 7 against the OA so one would think that if Squeaks is healthy for the conference finals that he will start this week?? We shall wait and see I presume. One key element that was taken from the first matchup between these two upper tier teams was depite the turnovers the OA offensive committed they were able to move the ball on the Nomads like no other team in the league. If this trend continues and turnovers are limited, this game could be one for the ages……Shipman-Questionable?
Sasso-Questionable?
Overachievers have prooved that they can plug in and keep steaming forward. Will this trend contiune...
