The Hub City Hogs announced the recent signing of Jordan Reid, a guard out of Silver Spring, MD. Reid, an All-County Selection while playing at Albert Einstein High School in Silver Spring, moved on to Howard Community College (MD) where he averaged 15.3 ppg and 5.1 rpg in two seasons with the Dragons. Reid’s next stop was DII Wheeling University (WV) where he starred for three years, earning All-MEC honors all three seasons. His career average of 20 ppg was good enough to land him in 13th place on the Wheeling University all-time scorers list, with 1398 points.
Recently, Reid is notable in his involvement with basketball YouTuber known as DC Heat, for being a member of a team of Curry’s, where Reid and 4 others dressed as Steph Curry and played pickup games versus randoms at a local gym. Reid and his team, in Steph Curry fashion, could only shoot three-pointers and the “Steph Curry floater”. The video quickly went viral and has over 1.6 million views and led Curry to invite Reid and the others to Oakland, CA to be his VIP guests at a Warriors home game, where they met the NBA superstar and watched a game from a VIP box.
Reid brings added depth to the Hogs backcourt, which includes veteran Willie McDowell (Wilson College) and Reid’s high school and college rival, Daniel Alexander (Frostburg State). Hub City begins their ECBL season with a road game on Sunday, February 25th against the NOVA Bulls, in Gainesville, VA.
