Falcons Fall in Season Finale vs Illinois Thundercats 7-37

The Falcons traveled to Decatur, IL with 18 Falcon members strong to face off against the #2 seeded Illinois Thundercats. Due to some league controversy within the MA8FL organization some Falcons were unable to play that day but Hannibal would not make that an excuse. "We came to play and we came with the mentality to win." says defensive lineman Andy O'Cheltree. "We didn't travel 2 to 2-1/2 hrs just to be handed an L and be on our way. Everyone who came to that game, I whole heartily believe tried their best and I couldn't be more proud of the final stand we took." 

In fact, the Falcons held on with the Thundercats very strong in the 1st half of play. A constant battle of turnovers seemed like the main event after many fumbles, interceptions and failed 4th down attempts for both the Falcons and the Thundercats. It was in fact, however, the hottest game of the year the Falcons had yet to face and with the lack of rotation; mental errors and exhaustion began to show. With the Thundercats at full strength (apart from a few injured players), they started to push down on the gas at the begininng of the 2nd half of play. The Falcons did all they could to hold their own but in the end the Thundercats were better equipped to win the fight. 

The Hannibal Falcons would like to thank EVERYONE for their efforts in helping make the best experience possible for the 2019 football season. We couldn't ask for a better support group including the owners, coaches, sponsors, families and friends; the Falcons owe each and every one of you a debt of gratitude.
