Something Old, Something New is KINGDOM GROUND Athletics.

This was an idea founded by myself back in 2017 where I started a church group called 5th Down "Going Beyond the Downs" in order to bring the church to the community through flag football.

Being the man that I am, I challenged strong men in the church or those that I trusted to take on the roles as captains of a team.

Their responsibilities were to be strong godly role models/mentors for their young players, leading them to Christ with Prayer before and after games; standing in the gap for them to lead them through tough times of their everyday lives, but also being an encouraging voice and showing God's love even during competitive action. ALL Captains were required to also compete alongside their athletes to also experience loss and victory. 

Everything still applies to the Something NEW.

We (the Lord and I) have changed the name to KINGDOM GROUND Athletics with the sole purpose of asking the Lord to show up no matter where we are, no matter the sport, and that he allows his Heavenly KINGDOM to come to any location we hold these games/meeting (Matthew 6:9-10) and that lives will be saved through Jesus Christ.

I'm challenging my Leaders this time around by asking them to lead a short 5 minute message before every game while also leading their teams in Prayer. We're not here to bible thump, but for individuals to grow their faith in God because they're inspired by the men and women tasked to lead them; being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

I feel the calling and the burden to grab and help bring up this next generation while also being a role model to the many young men & women around the community because the world has captured so many already. But this time around we come with a different boldness, and fire to stop the enemy and his agenda.

"Hallowed be your name,

Your KINGDOM come, Your will be done,

on Earth, as it is in heaven". (Matt 6:9-10)
