POINT EDWARD 15 @ WELLAND 9
Playing the second end of a home and home with the Point Edward Pacers, the Welland Raiders got off to a good start in their game at the Liv Arena on Sunday night. Tigan Ceesay (4) gave Welland a 1-0 lead with Colby Wagner (4) and Mackenzie Taylor (9) picking up the assists. Welland went up 2-0 on Mackenzie Taylor's (8) goal, Colby Wagner (5) and Tigran Ceesay (3) picked up the assists. The Raider's Owen Millar (2) scored to make it a 3-0 game with brother Jack Millar (8) picking up the lone assist. Mackenzie Taylor (9) on a nice pass from Jacob Cook (4) made it 4-0 Welland. After going up 5-0 on a goal by Colby Wagner (6), assisted by Mackenzie Taylor (10) and Brayden Stearns (7), the Wellanders were looking to end an 0-8 start to the season. But the Pacers seem to find their legs and scored four goals in three minutes to make it a 5-4 Raiders lead. The Raiders got one back to make it 6-4 on Tigran Ceesay's (5) goal with Mackenzie Taylor (11) and Colby Wagner (6) picking up the assists, but the Pacers cae right back with a goal before the first ended to make it 6-5 Welland after one period, it was the first time Welland had led after the opening period this year. The Riaders outshot the Pacers 21 to 14 in the period.
In the second, missed opportunities cost the Raiders as the Pacers tallied five times to the Raiders zero to take a 10-6 lead after two periods of play. Shots on goal were 14 to 10 in favour of the Point Edward Pacers. Welland made it 10-7 early in the third with Colby Wagner (7) netting the goal and Ben Bartley (2) picked up the assist. The Pacers netted a goal to make it 11-7 but Mackenzie Taylor (10) scored on the power play to make it 11-8, Colby Wagner (7) and Brayden Stearns (8) picked up the assists. That was as close as the raiders would get as the Pacers added four more goals to the Raiders one to make the final 15-9. Welland's nineth gaol came off the stick of mackenzie taylot (12), his fourth of the game with Liam Stickland (3) and Colton King (4) picking up assists on the goal. Point Edward outshot the Raiders 21-8 in the third period. Jack Forbes took the loss fro the Raiders giving up 15 goals on 49 shots, while his counter part Brody Young faced 38 shots and gave up 8 goals. Lucas Brouwer gave up the other goal on the one shot he faced. Mackenzie Taylor with 7 points and Colby Wagner with 6 points led the Welland offense. Kaia Pierce picked up 10 points in the Pacer win.

WELLAND 8 @ POINT EDWARD 21
Last Saturday the Welland Jr B Raiders travelled to Poibnt Edwards in hope of their first victory of the year, but the Pacers would score eight goals in each of the first and third period enroute to a 21-8 victory.
The Raiders were outscored 8-2 in the first period with Mackenzie Taylor (5) assisted by Brayden Stearns (2) and Colby Wagner (2), and then Brayden Stearns (2) from Mackenzie Taylor (7) were the goal scoreers for Welland in the first. The Pacers outshot the Raiders 23 to 13 in the period. In the second the Raiders played a much better period scoring three time but the Pacers managed five to tak a 13-5 lead after two periods of play. The Pacers fired 24 shots at the Raider's net campared to 14 by the Raiders on the Pacer's net. Scoring for the Raiders in the second were, Mackenzie Taylor (6) from Brayden Stearns (3) and Colby Wagner (3), Tigran Ceesay (2) from Brayden Stearns (4), and Owen Millar (1) from Ben Bartley (1) and Kiaus Lalonde (2).
The third period was all Pacers as they fired 22 shots at the Welland net scoring eight time to Welland's 3 goals on 14 shots, Scoring for the Welland Raiders in the third period were Tigran Ceesay (3) assisted by Brayden Stearns (5). Welland's seventh goal scored by Colby Wagner (5) assisted Brayden Stearns (6) and Mackenzie Taylor (8) and Wellands final goal scored by Mackenzie Taylor (7) assisted by Jack MIllar (7).
Kiaus Lalonde and Jack Forbes shared the goaltender duties for the Raiders as they face a total of 69 Pacer shots, while the Raiders managed a total of 41 shost on Pacer goalie Brody Young. Brayden Stearns has a goal and 5 assists for the Raider and Mackenzie Taylor added 3 goals and 2 assists.

WELLAND 7 @ HAMILTON 15
The Hamilton Bengals outscored the Welland Raiders 5-1 in the opening period of their game on Thursday night. Scoring Welland's lone goal in the period was Brayden Stearns (1), on the power play, his fist game game back after the school year at Point Park University in Pittsburg, assisting on the goal was Jack MIllar (6) and Liam Stickland (3). The Bengals outshot the Raiders 20 to 15 in the period. The Bengals went up 8-1 in the second before the Raiders added a couple to make it 8-3. Tigran Ceesay (1) scored his first Jr goal with Jack Millar (7) and Colby Wagner (1) assisting. Welland's third goal of the game was scored by Jack Millar (5) with assists going to Owen Millar (2) and Tigran Ceesay (1). The Bengals out scored the Raiders 4-1 in the last ten minutes of the second to take a 12-4 lead after two periods of play. Welland's third goal of the period and fourth of the game scored by Colby Wagner (2) with Owen Millar (3) and Tigran Ceesay (2) picking up the assists. Hamilton outshot the Wellanders 21 to 18 in the second period. Both teams managed three goals in the third to make the final 15-7 Hamilton. Scoring for the Raiders in the third were Colby Wagner (3) from Brayden Stearns (1) and Owen Millar (4); Oliver McCormick (1) his first Junior goal, unassisted, adn Wellands final goal of the game was scored by Colby Wagner (4) his third of the game with Owen Millar (5) and Mackenzie Taylor (6) picking up assists. The Bengals managed 18 shots on Welland Goaltender Jack Forbes for a total of 59 for the game, while the Raiders managed 12 shots in the third for a total of 45 aginst Evan Snyder of Hamilton.

CAMBRIDGE 14 @ WELLAND 2
The Welland Jr B Raiders dropped to 0-6 on the season with their loss to the Cambridge Highlanders on Sunday night at the Welland Liv Arena. Cambridge came out strong taking a 6-1 lead after the first period. Welland's lone goal in the period was scored by Colby Wagner (1), his first Jr B goal with Owen Millar (1) and Mackenzie Taylor (5) picking up the assists. Early in the second Colton King (2) scored for Welland to make it 6-2, Jacob Cook (3) picked up the lone assist. But the Highlanders added 4 more to make it 10-2 after two periods. The third period was all Cambridge as they would score four more and kept the Raiders scoreless to make the final 14-2. Welland goaltender Jack Forbes played a strong game in the loss as he face 58 Highlander shots, while the Raiders managed 26 against Cambridge. Cambridge's specialty teams came up big in their win, as they scored 3 shorthanded goals to go with 3 power play goals. Welland was 1 for 5 on the power play including a 5 minute power play.

WELLAND 5 @ WINDSOR 17
On Saturday the Welland Jr B Raiders made the long trip to Windsor to take on the Clippers. The Raiders foind themselves in a ho,e as they trailed the Clippers 6-1 after the first period. Jacob Cook (1) scored Welland's lone goal in the period with Kaivin Jones (1) picking up the lone assist. The Raiders managed to score three goals in the second, but the Clippers managed 8 to take a 13-4 lead after two periods. Mackenzie Taylor (3) scored Welland's second of the game with Kiaus Lalonde(1) and Jack Millar (4) getting the assists. Welland's third goal scored by Jacob Cook (2) with Mackenzire Taylor (4) and Cole Caetano (2) assisting. Welland's third of the second and fourth of the game scored by Colton King (1) with the lone assist going to Ryan General (4). The Clppers added three more in the third as they went on an eight goal run with the last 5 in the second and first 3 in the third. The final goal of the game scored by the Raiders #16 Mackenzie Taylor (4) with Cole Caetano (3) and Kaivin Jones (2) collecting assists. Aaron Gross started the game for the Raiders before giving way to Kaius Lalonde 4 minutes into the game. Gross came back into the game at the start of the third. THe windosr Clippers fired 60 shots at Gross and Lalonde while the Raiders managed 15 at Nathan Anger of the Clippers. Vance Dalphe was the big gun foer the Clippers with 3 goals and 7 assists for a 10 point night.
WELLAND 5 @ GUELPH 15
On Friday night the Welland Jr B Raiders travelled to Guelph to take on the Guelph Regals. The Regals were all over the Raiders in the first period pumping 29 shots on Raiders goaltender Kiaus Lalonde. Lalonde stopped all but 2 as the Regals took a 2-0 lead after one period of play. The Raiders made it a 2-1 game as Jack Millar (3) scored with Dekin Hill (1) and Cole Caetano (1) picking up the assists. Welland's Dekin HIll (9) even the contest at 2-2 with an unassisted marker.. But the Regals rallied with six straight goals to make it an 8-2 score. The Raiders got one back before the period ended on Liam Stickland's (1) penalty shot goal to make it 8-3 Guelph after two periods. Welland outshot the Regals 16-14 in the second. Just 16 seconds into the third Lucas Panucci (1) scored for Welland to make it 8-4. But the Regals would outscore the Raiders 7-1 the rest of the game enroute to a 15-5 win. scoring Welland's last goal was Jack Millar (4) from Ryan General (3) and Colton King (3). The Raiders Kiaus Lalonde faced 60 shots from the Regals while the Raiders managed 27 shots against Regal goaltender Anthony Fonte. Ben Morton with 3 goals and 5 assists and Carter McKay 1 goal and 8 assists led the Guelph Regals.

ROUGH RIDE FOR THE WELLAND JR B RAIDERS ON THE WEEKEND.
The Welland Jr B Raiders opening weekend was less than perfect as they dropped all 3 games. On Friday night the Raiders travelled to the Nations to take on the Rebels and were soundly defeated 23-3. Playing short staffed to begin with, they loss the services to Braxton Bibeau early in the first, then game misconducts to Mackenzie Taylor in the second and Lucas Panucci early in the third left the Raiders with 13 runners to finish the game. The Rebels outscored the Raider 6-0 in the first period and then took a 16-2 lead after two. Scoring for the raiders in the second was Garret Liddiard (1) assisted by Ryan General (1) and Dekin Hill (1). Also scoring for the Raiders was Dekin Hill (1) with his first ever Jr B goal set up by Mackenzie Taylor (1) and Garrett Liddiard (1). The third was all Rebels out scoring the Raiders 7-1, Garrett Liddiard (2) with his second of the game scored for the Raiders in the third, Ryan General (2) and goaltender Aaron Gross (1) picked up the assists. Both goaltender face a ton of shots. Jack Forbes took the loss allowing 13 goals while Aaron Gross allowed 10.
On Saturday night the Welland Jr B Raiders played host to the Windsor Clippers but came up short losing to the Clippers 17-8. The Clippers specialty units crippled the Raiders as the Clippers struck for 5 short handed goals and 4 power play goals, while the Raiders scored 2 power play goals and 1 shorty all by Dekin Hill. The first period looked promising for the Raiders as they enjoyed a 3-2 lead at one time before giving up 3 short handed goals in the last 5 minutes as the Clippes took a 7-3 lead after one period. Scoring for the Raiders in the first were, Dekin Hill (2) assisted by Jacob Cook (1) that gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Windsor took a 2-1 lead but Jack Millar (1) and unassisted goal tied the game at 2-2. Ryan General (1) with his first Junior B goal gave the Raiders a short livied 3-2 lead with Max Arcuri (1) picking up the lone assist.
Windsor outscored the Raiders 5-2 in the second. Dekin HIll (3) assisted by Jack Millar (1) and Dekin Hill (4) assisted by Colten King (1) were the goal scorers for the Raiders. The Raiders fought hard in the third but were still outscored by the Clippers 5-3. Dekin Hill (5) assisted by Colten King (2), Dekin Hill (6) with his fifth goal of the game, a short handed goal assisted by Jacob Cook (2) and Welland's eigth goal of the game scored by Garrett Liddiard (3) with Max Arcuri (2) picking up the assist. Kiaus Lalonde started the game for Welland giving up 6 goals on 25 shots. Jack Forbes came on late in the first allowing 11 goals on 51 shots in taking the loss. The Raiders managed 41 shots against the Clippers.
On Sunday the Welland Jr B Raiders hosted the Owen Sound Northstars. The Northtatrs jumped into a 2-0 lead before Jack Miller (2) scored for Welland to cut the Northstars lead 2-1 Garrett Liddiard (1) picked up the lone assist. Owen Sound would run a string of nine goals, 5 in the last 10 minutes of the first period and 4 in the first 10 minutes of the second to take 11- 1 lead before the Wellanders scored their second goal of the game with Dekin Hill (6) assisted by Mackenzie Taylor (2) scoring to make it 11-2. Hill (7) replied again for Welland to make it 11-3 with an unassisted goal. The Northstars rallied with two to make it 13-3 but before the period ended the Raiders added a goal by Hunter Hidalgo (1) to make it 13-4, Jack Millar (2) and Garrett Liddiard (2) picked up assists. In the third the Raiders Hunter Hidalgo (2) assisted by Max Arcuri (3) and Mackenzie Taylor (3) made it 13-5 and then Mackenzie Taylor (1) with his first Junior B goal made it a 13-6 game in favour of Owen Sound, with Jack Millar (3) and Liam Stickland (1) picking up assists. But the quick paced Owen Sounders ran off four more to ake it 17-6. Mackenzie Taylor (2) scored Welland's seventh goal with Hunter Hidalgo (2) assisting to make 17-7, but the Northstars added a couple more before the third period ended to make it 19-7 Owen Sound. Aaron Gross started for the Wellanders taking the loss before giving way to Kiaus Lalonde.
Next game for Welland is Friday May 1 when they travel to Guelph to take on the Regals, then on Saturday they make the trip to Windsor to take on the Clipper before returning home on Sunday May 3 to play host to the Cambridge Highlanders in a 7:00 PM start at the Welland Liv Arena.

Saturdays April 4 Welland Jr B Raiders Tryouts has been changed from a 2:00 PM start to a 6:00 PM start in the Main Arena.
Please NOTE : Al players that are above U16 must be register with Welland through the sportzsoft portal, If you have not registered, please do so, you won't get on the floor if not registered. If you are a U17 player wanting to come out you must be registered with your minor organization.
If you are attending from another centre that has a Junior Organization you must get a PRT filled out to be able to run. Cost is $50 you can etransfer to wellandjrblacrosse@gmail.com
