Rick played in the national league and has been a past commissioner. He's very well respected in the league.  During the first season, my team played his team.  We had 9 players, and his team had 10.  It was a great opportunity to get a couple of wins since we had a very good team, and his team was struggling.   He told me that since we had only 9 players that he would also field 9, stating, "It's the only fair thing to do."  He did this knowing that now we would have a better chance to win both games, which we eventually did. He left an impression on me that day. He's the essence of what this league is all about.  We are all teammates at some point in time, and we are blessed with people like this as we age gracefully playing a kids' game.
