The Orlando Dodgers look to continue being successful in the OABL having finished top 4 in the last 3 seasons the Dodgers are not content with that. “We have worked hard to be a great team and competitive but that’s not what we are happy with we want rings”, says manager Jay Lleras who’s going on his 12th season managing the same group of guys. Dodgers always been a scrappy team but fall short just not having enough to take it all. This year could be different with the addition of Diomedes Mateo over the fall a dominant left handed pitcher who always sets his sights on the “W”. Dodger originals gold medalist for Puerto Rico Anthony Seise and big dominant left Luis La Puerta will form a trio of lefties who no one should want to encounter. Ex-Met pitcher Right Hander Gregorix Estevez is back after taking the fall off to strengthen the dodger rotation along with Jackson McDonald who’s been a force on the mound since joining the Dodgers.
Offensively the Dodgers will look strong as always with players like their Captain Euddi Ortega who had a down fall but looks to jump back up with his always consistent numbers, Raymond Fuentes and Kevin Concepcion will handle the left side of the infield and top of the line up a duo that could be put at the top of the OABL list in offensive numbers. At second base Dodgers will have a couple of speedsters in Nuedy Corona and Luis vidal, these are big contact players for the Dodgers. Fernando Jimenez, Jeffrey Lavulo will be patrolling the outfield with new edition Luis Dejesus who came over from the cubs. Lavulo and Jimenez have been big offensive powers for the Dodgers with Jimenez slap hit approach and Lavulo’s big time power look for these guys to put up Allstar numbers. Rounding out the Dodgers will be veteran Armando Beltran who made the Dodgers a better team when they landed him, his consistent ball in play mentality works well with the Dodgers young guys.
New additions pitchers Isias Rosario, Jesus Dejesus and outfielder Carlos Garcia will be good additions to this already strong Dodgers team
Week #1 - Orlando Rays 4 v Orlando Dodgers 5
Dodgers got off to a rusty start as pitching proved to be dominant but the defense and bats alil shaky. Dodgers still managed to pull through to take the victory bats did just enough to stay ahead as Luis Vidal and Robert Rivera homered big and on the pitching side they used all their arms Mateo starting the game hot going 3 innings and rookies Jesus Dejesus and Jorge Camacho coming in right after, when things got alil too close big arms Anthony Seise and Luis Rivera came in to shut down any offensive threat. Manager Jay Lleras says it was an exciting game to start the season but look for the Dodgers to tighten up defense and start to make a lot more noise with the bats.
