The Phantoms were a ball hockey club that played in the long-gone (but not forgotten) Fire Park Ball Hockey Association. Over the course of their short history, the team qualified for the playoffs in every season they played. This website was created in memory of the club.

Back in late 1999, the FPBHA had accumulated a list of players that wanted to play for various existing teams in the league. It turned out there were enough players to create a new team, which would begin play in the Third division. The league contacted Brad Anderson (the only goalie on the list and a league veteran since 1993) and asked if he would like to run this new team, which he agreed to do. After getting the contact details for the different players, a meeting was organized at the Fire Park Pub during the first week of January 2000.

At the meeting, the new team's colours were agreed upon rather quickly. The jerseys would be blue base with white numbers and no stripes. Different name possibilities were suggested, but dismissed just as quickly as they came. Finally Brad mentioned, "How about the Phantoms?" Everyone stopped, looked around at each other smiling, and after a few seconds of thought one of the other players said, "Yeah, I like that one..."
Adopting this moniker ended up being a unanimous decision.

Thus the Phantoms were born, and although the initial roster was small, there would be more players added in the coming weeks. They would play their first ever game on January 11th, 2000.
