Rules clarification. When determining how long a pitcher may pitch, each out is considered 1/3 of an inning. For example, in majors, a pitcher is allowed to pitch two innings or 6 outs. It is permisible for the pitcher to throw 1 out in the 2nd inning, all three outs in the third and 2 outs in the fourth. It is not a violation if a pitcher has pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and on the next play a double play is made.

Time Limits

For clarification, the following time limit rules are used

 

All Levels:

If a field without lights has an evening double header scheduled on it, no new inning may begin after 6:45.  Game will be called at 7:00 and score reverts back to last full inning played

 

Minors and Majors A only. If a field has only 1 game on it in an evening. The game will be called once the inning is completed, two hours after the start of the game.

With over 600 games posted and more to come, there were less than 2% of the games with conflicts. Working with association leaders they have been able to identify these conflicts and some games need to be switched. If you printed out a schedule prior to 10pm on Thursday, May 1st please throw away and reprint a new schedule. There should be only minimal changes but we want to be sure teams are traveling to the correct destinations.
