GM Suhaib Shaikh brings back the defending champs, looking for a second cup.  Shaikh made no mistake in drafting Harsimran Brar, lovingly referred to as HB. With HB and GM Shaikh taking care of the blue line, netminder Mohammed AK Patel will have a confident stance week after week. Keep an eye out for the gamble taken with young stars drafted in Zaheer Kazi and Abdullah Khalil Patel, who can provide strong support if utilized appropriately. The question of depth will always arise with a team this young, but you wouldn't see any cracks in confidence with this squad. Only time will tell how success will play out.

GM Divesh Sharma is back again at the helm of the Nordiques, looking to inch closer to a Verdi Cup after a devastating OT loss last season. As was predicted, Sharma drafted along his typical core lines, with Prateek Johal providing sniper support up front. Leading the blue line will be Moose Khan and Pavan Dulai, who will be supporting netminder Kaleem Mirza. Consistent goaltending will need to be the key to success for this team that has worked and played together for so long. Analysts assume team chemistry will be the easiest for this team to achieve given the long history.

The Hawks are now under leadership of Mohammed Kazi, who is coming off a championship season with the Bruins. Expect the same tenacity and ferocity; same leader, different jersey. His first two picks consist of Syed Ahmed and Anant Kaushal, who will provide end-to-end coverage. And as expected, Arif Billa has been drafted to provide support to both scoring and defense. Nadir Ahmed will be the man between the pipes, being supported by D-men Shoaib Rangrez and Anant K. All eyes will be on netminder Ahmed, who will be making a return from a long sabbatical. To add to the roster, Maaz Panchbhaya and Mohamed Suleman will be providing additional support. Given the stats on paper, this team should be the team to fear in terms of depth, but the goalie will be the ultimate make or break for the team.

In a twist of events, Sufyan "Gullu" Kazi will be at the helm of the Falcons as the GM. He's drafted heavily in favour of offensive firepower with Huzzy Panchbhaya and Razi Ahmed providing a lethal threat upfront. League insiders mention Nidhan Natt is also one to keep an eye out for, and will be the trump card for the Falcons. Shahrukh Shah will be leading the charge on defense, supporting netminder Ridwaan Khanji. For this goalie, the loss of last season's Finals is still fresh on mind and will be a huge motivating factor for this season. With Zahid Panchbhaya and Anish Kara providing speedy additional legs, there are high hopes for this team. Once again, lethal on paper but all will come down to how it plays out on the hardwood. Stay tuned for more!
