BOOMERS STADIUM GAME
Saturday, August 30th we will be holding three (3) Exhibition games at the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium ... of course in Schaumburg. The game is on Labor Day weekend Saturday but we feel the opportunity to play in this well groomed minor league stadium will give us a great turnout. We are hoping for rosters of 16-18 players per team. All games will be 9 innings unless we cut the 42s and 50s game short due to lopsided scores. So.. the first 32 players to sign-up in each age division will be the ones playing. The managers for these teams have been selected and we will hold a draft of players the week before the game. Note: teammates will be split up in hopes of achieving a level playing field. 50's will play in the morning, 42s will play in the afternoon, 30s play the last game of the day... and part of the game may be under lights. Your managers for these Exhibition Games are:

  • 30's: Jeff Walsh, Pistols and Juan Ruiz, Del Toros
  • 42s: Brian Bacci, Flyers and Frank O'Sullivan, White Sox
  • 50's: John Corey, Angels, and John Zacc, Marauders

The commitment fee to play will be $25. You will be required to fill out an player form.  To register for the game click here.   Please note that you do not have to play in the division you are currently playing in. However, you must be of required age to play in other division games, i.e., if you play in the 42's division but want to play in the 50's exhibition game you must be at least 50.

EJECTIONS
As a result of questionable officiating (in many cases this year) ... the league has chosen the following course with ejections With each ejection a player is fined $25. Regardless of whether the ejection is overturned or not the player has to pay the fine. These fines must be paid to the league as soon as possible. If fines are not paid by the play-offs, players who have not payed their fines will be deemed ineligible for the play-offs until such fine is paid. ALL FINE MONIES COLLECTED FROM EJECTIONS WILL BE DONATED TO A LOCAL CHARITY...AND THE LEAGUE MAY MATCH THE TOTAL AMOUNT AS WELL. Keith Marc is investigating local charities and we will announce that charity on the website. We have about six (6) ejections thus far for a toal of $150/$300 going towards the charity.

Initial ejection is typically a one game suspension. This holds true ... however ... the player is not automatically suspended in the next game. Again because of questionable officiating the player ejected has an automatic appeal entered. The league then investigates the ejection circumstances and will rule whether that player is suspended or if the suspension has been overturned. Once the league rules, that player is suspended for the following game. To note: Out of 4 ejections investigated we have overturned all 4 ejections. Also, just because a player is ejected and it is his first offense, doesn't mean he will only get a one game suspension. The league can and will invoke longer suspensions if the actions warrant it. 2nd and 3rd suspensions will follow the rules established.

RESCHEDULING OF GAMES
I hope to have all the majority of games rescheduled with the week. We lose Wauconda and Emricson in August, but I am in the process of securing Peterson Park for games. More on this as developments occur.
