A few reminders for majors and modified teams as they enter Wednesday's semi finals and finals.

*No time limit at Wheeler for either game, they have lights.

*For Braun Park, Wade and Volkswagen semi final games will end at regulation or complete the inning at 6:45. The finals, if called because of darkness will revert back to the last complete inning.

*Modified pitchers for the DAY can pitch 5 innings (new compared to regular season) or complete pitching to the batter in which they have thrown the 95th pitch.

*Major pitchers for the DAY can pitch 3 innings (new compared to regular season) or complete pitching to the batter in which they have thrown the 85th pitch.

Modified and Majors playoff update

Modified AAA- Tournament will continue as normal, high seed hosting

For all others, Semis and Finals will be hosted at a predetermined site as follows:

Modified AA- Wheeler

Modified A- moved to Braun Park 

Majors AA_ Braun Park

Majors A Gold- Wade

Majors A Silver- Volkswagen Proctor

 

No semi or finals can be played earlier as there is an advantage for pitching

It has been determined for Wednesday that Majors can pitch 3 innings in a day and Modified can pitch 5. However pitchers must still abide by the max number of pitches per day and required days of rest.  GOOD LUCK TEAMS!!!

 

7.23.25 4:00pm

Quarterfinal games in the Modified and Major level that can not be played tonight Wednesday 7/23 will be moved to Monday 7/28, same time and location. If mutually agreeed upon, two teams may play their game earlier. This will require a double header of semifinals and finals to be played on Wednesday 7/30 at a neutral site.

The Modified, Majors and Minors tournaments have been updated above. A few other notes to mention regarding playoffs:

* It is imperative that scores are texted in immediately following a game to 218-481-5559. One missing score has the potential to hold up 7 of the 10 tournaments as certain fields are used in several tournaments.

* There are no time limits for playoff games. Game times are 6pm unless a field has lights where double headers are played. In this case game times are 5pm and 7pm. However, the 7pm is a placeholder time and the 5pm gets to be played to its entirety.

*In the event a higher seed has to go on the road, the higher seed remains the home team.

Rules clarification. When determining how long a pitcher may pitch, each out is considered 1/3 of an inning. For example, in majors, a pitcher is allowed to pitch two innings or 6 outs. It is permisible for the pitcher to throw 1 out in the 2nd inning, all three outs in the third and 2 outs in the fourth. It is not a violation if a pitcher has pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and on the next play a double play is made.

Unfortunately at the U15 level, Lake Superior Rivals and South Ridge are not able to field a team. If you have one of these teams on your schedule, you will have a bye that night.

Time Limits

For clarification, the following time limit rules are used

 

All Levels:

If a field without lights has an evening double header scheduled on it, no new inning may begin after 6:45.  Game will be called at 7:00 and score reverts back to last full inning played

 

Minors and Majors A only. If a field has only 1 game on it in an evening. The game will be called once the inning is completed, two hours after the start of the game.

With over 600 games posted and more to come, there were less than 2% of the games with conflicts. Working with association leaders they have been able to identify these conflicts and some games need to be switched. If you printed out a schedule prior to 10pm on Thursday, May 1st please throw away and reprint a new schedule. There should be only minimal changes but we want to be sure teams are traveling to the correct destinations.
