Coach Nicks and his wife Kelli have been married for 16 years. The Nicks have three little T-Birds named Joe, Cole and Olivia. Joe is 11 years old and Cole is 4 years old and Olivia is almost 3 years old.

Coach Nicks received his Bachelors of Education degree from Emporia State University and has a Masters in Administration from Baker University. Coach Nicks is in his 20th year coaching football.

Coach Nicks has coached 19 years at Shawnee Heights and this will be his 15th year coaching varsity. Coach Nicks is the Offensive Coordinator and is the Quarterbacks Coach.
