Oak Park started slow and finished slow in a tough loss at Crespi. The Eagles only scored 1 goal in the 1st period as the Celts pulled out to a 4-1 lead. A strong 2nd and 3rd quarter pulled the Eagles even at 9 but the 4th quarter was all Crespi as they netted 3 goals to finish off OP 13-9. This ends a brutal 5 game opening stretch for the Eagles with a disappointing 2-3 record. Consoletti and Julius each netted 2 goals while Consoletti added 2 assists for the Eagles. Brendan Egan added a goal and 2 assists in the loss. Max Bulko scored the first goal for OP but on the next possession, was injured and unable to return. This seemed to affect the offensively chemistry and Shorts had to move to attack, shortening an already thin midfield for OP. Crespi as usual won the ground ball war and their intensity in the 4th quarter was the difference.
The JV won their 2nd straight with an impressive 13-7 win over an improved Crespi JV team. Another slow start by the Eagle offense with only 1 goal in the 1st period. The defense was impressive again limiting Crespi to only 2 goals the first 3 quarters. Tyler Hunter led all scorers with 3 goals while Jake Pisarcik, Troy White and Preston Kleiser each found the net twice for OP. Jason Salzman contributed 3 points with a goal and 2 assists.
Next up is Hart at Oak Park on Tuesday. JV is at 6 and Varsity at 730. This game was added late to the schedule for OP. Mark your calendars for our only Friday night home game against Harvard-Westlake later in the week.
