at CFx's Night of Champions!

SSSF had a very sucessful night at Cage Fighting Xtreme's Night of Champions at the home of the Brockton Rox, Campanelli Stadium.

Starting the night off for SSSF was Cory Pickering, who was making his amateur debut in the cage. Cory came out very composed and picked up the win via armbar midway through the first round.

Next up was "Sloppy" Joe Lamoureux. Sloppy fought a very game opponent and this match-up was very back and forth. Sloppy landed every take-down he attempted though and that proved to be the difference as he won via judges' decision, improving his record to 3-1.

Immediately following that fight was SSSF's Frank Sfroza. Recap of this fight courtesy of the Taunton Gazatte...

"Frank Sforza scored a brutal second round stoppage over Anthony Hargrove. After a close first, Sforza secured a quick takedown to open the second. Suddenly, Sforza opened up with a torrent of hammer fists--the first two splitting open Hargrove’s lip and drawing blood from his nose--stunning him enough for Sforza to land several more of (exceeding) strength, rendering Hargrove unconscious on the mat. Immediately upon the stoppage, Sforza stared down at his fallen opponent like a triumphant gunslinger. It would be over a minute before Hargrove made it back to his feet."

And finally stepping into the cage for SSSF was "The Athlete" Mike Malvesti. Mike made very quick work of his opponent, knocking him out and ending the fight in just 14 seconds with a single punch.
