Eagles Drop OT Heartbreaker to JSerra 11-10
4/19/2008
Too many games in one week? We'll find out tomorrow. Oak Park lost a nail biter tonight at OPHS against the visiting Lions from JSerra Catholic. Oak Park had trouble stopping shots from outside on defense, and left one man too many open allowing the winning score in overtime sudden death. Oak Park won most of the face-offs, and offensively played well against the Virginia Military Institute recruit Kelly McMinn in goal for the Lions. Brett Zeolla and Grayson Phillips did well on offense scoring and feeding fellow teammates in the crease. They just didn't get enough in the net. Freshman Tommy Evans did a good job replacing Ryan Darling (out with an injured arm), scoring a great goal passed across the crease from Zeolla. Tomorrow OP plays at Cate in a rematch of last Saturday. It's OK boys, you get one day to rest for Malibu on Monday.
