The Colorado Kings are proud to announce the addition of dance team coach Davis to the team.
Coach Marnita Davis has been a resident of Colorado for a little over 13 years. During this time, she has become one of the pillars in the community who specializes in working with adolescents and young adults who may be homeless, in the foster care system, substance users and other mental health issues.
As a Mental Health Therapist, she has built strong community relationships with dominant organizations like the Department of Human Services of various counties, over 10 Denver Public Schools, various Juvenile Justice Systems/Programs and other agencies that are paramount in supporting a youth’s growth towards emancipation.
Coach Davis became the founder of Passages to Adulthood, a foster care group home dedicated to building a fundamental lifestyle for female teenagers transitioning into adults.
In her lifetime, Coach Marnita has also made a strong connection with dance. She began performing with her high school drill team for 2½ years and served as 2nd lieutenant. After high school, she began choreographing dance routines for various occasions for over 13 years. As her enthusiasm continues, Ms. Davis embraces many variations of dance to enhance her performance ability (zumba, salsa, 2-step, jazz and modern dance).
Life doesn’t end there for her, she is active in her church as the children’s choir assistant and serving on the usher board. She also enjoys the pleasures of listening to music, rollerskating, volleyball, weight lifting and muscle strengthening.
Ms. Davis is a University of Northern Colorado alumnus holding an MA Degree in Community Counseling, Certified as an Addictions Counselor III and working towards her Licensure as a Professional Counselor.
