Oak Park Crushes Malibu 12-5
Yesterday at Malibu High School, Coaches White, Ergin yawned through the 7th game of a grueling 10 day schedule. With the Shark slaughter, Oak Park finished it's mini-run at 6-1. The one heartbreaking overtime nail-biter was lost in sudden death to JSerra last Friday night. Oak Park had an impressive 10-1 lead at the half. Allowing only 1 goal, the Oak Park defense only allowed few shots in the first half. On offense, Ryan Darling came back from his injury with a new mission. Rather than scoring, he had an epiphany and realized he'd be awesome as a decoy! He moved to within one assist from the leader for assists at Oak Park, teammate Brett Zeolla. Ryan found a season high 7 productive targets. Rather than forcing shots himself, he patiently looked for the open man finding several teammates selflessly producing 7 points for his team. Zeolla, Ball & Phillips each scored 3 each. Trevor Goehring had 2 goals, while Max Luchs contributed one.
