The Monroe Lady Mustangs who are the 2011 NJCAA Women's Division II National Champions were honored during half-time of this afternoon's NY Liberty basketball game at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

As they walked on the court during the half-time festivities, the PA announcer talked about their championship run, 29-5 season, and legacy of success of women's basketball at Monroe.  Simultaneously, their image was projected to the entire arena on the stadium scoreboards.

"It was quite an honor to be acknowledged by NY's professional basketball team," said Coach Seth Goodman.  "We are really appreciative of the way the Liberty treated us and it was quite a thrill for our players to be on the court in front of the cheering Liberty fans.  Aside from winning the title, this was one of the highlights of our season."

After the cermony, the Lady Mustangs greeted and signed autographs for some of the children in attendance.
