NO NBA? NO NUGGETS? NO PROBLEM!
Denver, CO November 10, 2011 –
Heartsick NBA fans tired of the lockout are turning to another resource, the ABA. In Denver, The Colorado Kings are catching the attention of even the most ardent former NBA fans.
Ranked second in the largest professional basketball league in the world, this team boasts
big talent! Andre Miller and his All-Stars couldn’t defeat them. Neither could Jamar Brown,
Mo Charlo, Tyler Smith, and Mike Bugs of the Denver Defenders, a team made up of players
from the D League, the Washington Wizards, and International pro ranks. With the
exception of only one loss in the playoffs last year, they’ve won every game in their first
two years in the American Basketball Association.
Local Access, International Exposure This team is capturing the hearts of their local fans. With the NBA lockout leaving basketball fans wondering if they’ll ever reach an agreement, fans are keeping their eyes on the best talent that Denver has to offer. You never know who will show up at the games.
Their games are played in Northeast Denver on the state-of-the-art $42M Evie Garrett
Dennis Campus, which houses the newly built Denver School of Science and Technology –
minutes from where most of their fans live -- Montebello, Aurora, Centennial, and Denver.
At only $10 an adult ticket – young fans under 6 are always admitted free to their games –
fans can afford to bring their entire family to watch two-and a-half hours of live
professional basketball for the cost of going to the movies.
The Colorado Kings’ explosive entrance into the league last year included match-ups with
the ABA’s traveling Japanese team, The Shizouka Gymrats. This year they will host the
Gymrats again, and the team will also travel to China to play in Beijing for two weeks of
bounce-pass diplomacy. They’ll travel to Alaska, and are due to play in ABA tournament in
Oklahoma the weekend of November 18.
Fans are gearing up to catch the next game against the #10-ranked Colorado Springs
Crusaders this Saturday November 12 and 13 at the Evie Dennis Garrett Campus in Green
Valley Ranch. Visit the Colorado Kings’ website for the complete game schedule.
