2016 Woodbat Tournoment was a major event for B.B.S.L this year as it is every year. 17 teams came to St Johns Park in quest of being the champion. Underdogs, Dodgers, La Luzz, Young Gunz, Hurricanes, Max Musick, Street Fam, Wolves, Red Storm, Kings of Corona, Pirates, Blue Jays, Elites, 29ers, Twins, Young Haters & Payback. The tournoment got off to a rough start due to pouring rain, however the teams stuck it out and were able to get started 3 hours late. Fast forwarding to the final 6 we had Pirates taking on Kings of Corona and Hurricanes taking on Street Fam both with 1 loss a piece as Max Musick & the 29ers waiting to play each other as the only 2 undefeated teams left in the tournoment. Pirates defeated a tough Kings of Corona team with a score of 8-3 as Street Fam fell to Hurricanes 3-0. Hurricanes took on the Pirates as the game went back and forth with the Hurricanes came out on top. With Max Musick waiting in the championship Hurricanes took on the 29ERS and make quick work of them beating them 17-3. Championship game was a great game undefeated Max Musick vs Hurricanes with the Hurricanes having to beat them twice to take the crown. Max Musick jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first with adding 3 more in the bottom of the 3rd going out to a 6-0 lead but the Hurricanes wouldnt quit. Hurricanes added a run in the 4th & 5th innings cuting the lead down to 4 when in the top of the 6th had 2 runners on with 1 out when Hurricane outfielder hit a 3 run home run cutting the lead down to 1 and thats where the game ended. Congratulations to Max Musick going undefeated in the tournoment. We would like to thank all teams that participated as well as all of our umpires. We would also like to congratulate Martin from the Dodgers for hitting the first homerun & Frank from the 29ERS for pitching the first shut out.
