More than 280 top prospects from the South and beyond converged on the practice fields of the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday for the 11th Nike Camp of 2010. While many put forth outstanding performances that will only boost their recruiting stock, only 25 can make the cut for the ESPN RISE All-Alabama Nike Camp team.
Note: Selections based upon camp performance according to the NFTC staff and recruitability.
OFFENSE
QB -- Everett Golson, 5-11.5, 172, Myrtle Beach (Myrtle Beach, S.C.)
Athletic North Carolina commit has thrown 124 touchdowns in three years as a starter.
RB -- Ameer Abdullah, 5-8, 164, Homewood (Homewood, Ala.)
Shifty back took home his second NFTC MVP honor of the spring, duplicating an earlier strong performance at LSU.
RB -- Demetrius Hart, 5-7.5, 187, Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.)
Sturdy back is also an excellent receiver out of the backfield.
WR -- Christian Conley, 6-2.5, 190, North Paulding (Dallas, Ga.)
Georgia commit battled back from cramping to make several plays during one-on-ones.
WR -- Stefon Diggs (’12), 6-0, 174, Good Counsel (Olney, Md.)
Underclassman made several spectacular plays and looks to be the next big thing out of Good Counsel.
WR -- Donte Moncrief, 6-2.5, 200, Raleigh (Raleigh, Miss.)
Big, physical wideout got open all day and could not be stopped en route to WR MVP honor.
TE -- Cameron Clear, 6-5.5, 260, Central (Memphis, Tenn.)
Athletic big man showed soft hands at tight end, but might have more upside at offensive tackle.
OL -- Sterling Lovelady, 6-2, 272, Navarre (Navarre, Fla.)
FSU pledge has great frame and skill set for center position.
OL -- Ryan Mack, 6-4, 315, Wooddale (Memphis, Tenn.)
Has huge upside with size and strength.
OL -- Reggie Patrick, 6-1, 267, Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, Ala.)
Great looking athlete probably projects better as defensive tackle, but had solid day in offensive line drills.
OL -- Cody Robinson, 6-2.5, 289, Warren County (McMinnville, Tenn.)
His father played offensive line at Tennessee and it showed in Robinson’s advanced skill.
OL -- Trai Turner, 6-3, 347, St. Augustine (New Orleans, La.)
LSU commit is one of the strongest offensive linemen seen on the tour this spring.
DEFENSE
DL -- Chris Casher (’12), 6-4, 212, Faith Academy (Mobile, Ala.)
Rangy, athletic and super fast off the edge; will be a huge prospect in next year’s class.
DL -- Quay Evans (’12), 6-2, 312, Morton (Morton, Miss.)
Dominating physical presence who stood out despite performing in tennis shoes.
DL -- SamQuan Evans, 5-11.5, 271, Carver (Winston-Salem, N.C.)
A load to handle on the interior with his strength and low center-of-gravity.
DL -- D.J. Pettway, 6-2.5, 246, Catholic (Pensacola, Fla.)
Crimson Tide verbal dominated off the edge on his way to taking MVP honors.
LB -- Kwon Alexander (’12), 6-0.5, 192, Oxford (Oxford, Ala.)
Athletic outside linebacker will have a chance to be top recruit in Alabama next year.
LB -- Eddie Johnson, 6-0.5, 218, Selma (Selma, Ala.)
Might have been top sleeper to emerge at camp; great athlete, physical and make plays.
LB -- Marcquis Roberts, 6-0.5, 201, McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.)
Super athletic and stood out in every drill; had 86 tackles and six sacks as a junior.
LB -- James Wilder, 6-2.5, 219, Plant (Tampa, Fla.)
Do-it-all player may have found his best college position Saturday; called best prospect of the year by lead linebacker coach.
DB -- HaSean Clinton-Dix, 6-1.5, 194, Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.)
Alabama commit has it all as a safety prospect and lived up to his advance billing.
DB -- Blake Countess, 5-10, 175, Good Counsel (Olney, Md.)
Cover corner had his hands on the ball all camp long and made a ton of plays in half-skelly period.
DB – Ronnie Harris, 5-8.5, 151, Westlake (Atlanta, Ga.)
Lacks size, but has everything else in spades; showed great cover skills on the way to DB MVP honor.
DB -- Jonathan Rose, 6-0.5, 171, Leeds (Leeds, Ala.)
Cornerback skills with safety frame – a rare combination that has made him a coveted prospect.
DB -- Jermaine Whitehead, 5-11.5, 177, Amanda Elzy (Greenwood, Miss.)
Mississippi State commit could end up at either cornerback or safety.
