CHHS VIKINGS 35 - McCoy Colts 0

The Vikings wrapped up a successful spring camp with a scrimmage against the McCoy Colts . The Vikings offense wasted no time in marching the ball in from mid field as they picked up first downs on their first two plays, and on the 3rd play from scrimmage qb Dan Dubinski hit a wide open Clayton Brandt in the endzone on a 30 yard strike.
Dubinski would finish the day with over 200 yards passing , 2TD's and 2 INT's(both in the Mccoy Endzone).  Logan Lindsay hauled in  a 40 yard throw  and run to the house and Grade 10 Runningback Connor McGough rushed for over 100 yards including a TD run of 55 yards to start the 2nd half.  Dubinski rounded out the scoring with a hardnosed 10 yard run of his own  to paydirt.  McGough also added a 40 yard catch out of the backfield.  The O-Line looked good and gave Dubinski time to set up, and opened big holes for the Runningbacks all game. The "Blue Death" Defense played well all day and did not allow McCoy any big plays, shutting the Colts out in their 40 plays, and turning the ball over 3 times on fumbles.  The coaching staff is extremely pleased with the progress the team has made in a short time, however this is only spring camp and the always game Colts will be much more ready come regular season.  The game was a clean hardhitting affair and there were many big plays and hits and no serious injuries which is always a bonus. The coaching staff ensured that all 32 players got valuable playing time and many grade 9's started and made an impact. The Booster Club provided the boys with a much appreciated BBQ to end a great spring camp!  Thanks parents. Reminder to all players to get back in the gym for BFS workouts Mondays,Tuesdays, and Thursdays! As theres a lot of room for improvement, and a large hill ahead of us!

A big congrats to Gregg Hannah SlotBack/Tight End  who travelled to Edmonton this weekend and was selected to Football Alberta'sUnder 18 Team Alberta that will compete in the Canada Cup in Nova Scotia this summer.
