Our team received great news from the Truth FC President that all of the soccer uniforms that our PHS Girls donated will be going to Uganda this summer. Truth FC will be conducting a week long soccer camp for boys and girls and they will use the uniforms to start a girls soccer program. In the words of Jayla Elstad, President and CEO of Truth FC

"Your uniforms fit the specific need of my friend's mission trips to Uganda. She's leading a trip to Uganda this summer with a team of students from CCU. At one of the locations that they are visiting, a soccer program is starting up and they need full team/matching uniforms! They would not be able to have a team program without the uniforms and the gear you provided."

The team leader also sent us a note letting us know what impact this will have on the girls they are going to meet in Uganda.

"Normally, soccer is primarily the boys participating and not very many girls. So, when we go and conduct our sports camp, we would love to have matching gear for everybody, to make everyone feel included, and work on women empowerment early on in the girls lives, as women are normally looked down upon in Ugandan culture."

We are excited and proud that our girls and our program will be able to reach across an ocean and across cultures to help young girls discover the power that they possess within themselves and the power they have to share with those around them.
