Oak Park keeps home win streak alive in huge win over Mira Costa

The Eagles went down 3-0 early in the 2nd quarter to a tough Mira Costa team before scoring 4 straignt to take the lead with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. The Mustangs tied the game at 4 with just over 3 minutes left in the 3rd period before Oak Park ran off 3 straight to start the 4th quarter. Mira Costa battled back to within 1 goal with 3 minutes to go before a Trevor Goehring to Ryan Darling goal with 2 minutes left in the game sealed the victory for the Eagles. Grayson Phillips led the Eagles with 3 goals while Darling and Goehring both contributed a goal and 2 assists. Tommy Evans and Grant Consoletti each had a goal and assist in the winning effort . A Ryan Weise to Marty Kerns goal got the scoring started in the 2nd quarter as the Eagles improve to 9-7 on the season.
Mira Costa was ranked 11th in the CIF Southern Section and the Eagles look to keep the momentum going when they travel to 12th ranked J Serra on Saturday at 3 pm.
