ABA All Star Teams - First and Second Teams

With nearly 90 teams playing last season and around 1000 players, picking out the ABA All Star teams wasn't easy.  The caliber of players league wide was very strong.  No one in the ABA saw every ABA player play - so we could only go on the knowledge of those who saw many players play and who had the experience to evaluate the talent from that plus nominations.  I asked Kevin Waters, Head Coach of the

Jacksonville Giants and Ron Tilley, Head Coach of the Arizona Scorpions to choose the ABA All Star teams.

And here they are:

1st ABA Team

Jermaine Bell, Jacksonville Giants

Ryan McBride - Colorado Kings

Brandon Mitchell - North Dallas Vandals

James Singleton - Arizona Scorpions

Ed Horton - Jacksonville Giants

2nd ABA Team

Marcus King Stockton - Colorado Kings

Andre Muse - Chicago Steam

William Haynes - North Dallas Vandals

Shaquille Johnson - South Carolina Warriors

Tony Hooper - Jacksonville Giants

Coach of the Year - Kevin Waters, Jacksonville Giants

There were so many other great ABA players many of whom could easily have made these teams. Those who were at the ABA All Star Game in Chicago saw some amazing talent.  Congratulations to all of these great ABA players.
