Oak Park Loses Heartbreaker in OT to Peninsula 11-12
5/5/2009
In one of the wildest, windiest and most evenly matched games this season, the 16th ranked Eagles (now 11-9) ended their season loosing to 14th ranked Peninsula in Palos Verdes yesterday afternoon 11-12, with .58 seconds left in overtime. Seniors Grayson Phillips, Ryan Darling, Trevor Goehring, Matt Caspari, Cody Skene and newcomer Teddy Yoo shined bright in their hard fought final game as Eagles. Underclassmen Evans, Consoletti, Wiese, Kerns, Marshall, Toyama, Ju, Luchs, and Connor Phillips all gave us a look at next year. At this point, Grayson Phillips is playing Division 1 NCAA lacrosse for Fairfield University, Matt Caspari has forgone NCAA lacrosse to study Engineering at Cal Poly SLO while playing for their MCLA club lacrosse team. Teddy Yoo in his first season has managed to excel well enough to play lacrosse for the club lacrosse team at Boston University. Ryan Darling, though passing up on lacrosse his freshman year at UCSB, is entertaining the idea of participating his sophomore year, while Cody Skene is considering several colleges but hoping for USC. Fight On, Cody! This will total 10-13 Eagles that will have successfully been recruited to college lacrosse. Good luck OPLAX and see you next year. News will continue through the summer, so stay tuned!!
