Olivia Petersen enters her 21st year at Harrison High School and 14th
year on the staff of the Lady Hoyas Softball Program. As a Harrison
graduate in 1996, Petersen was a three-sport letter winner in
basketball, softball, and track and earned a full-scholarship to Catawba
College where she graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Health and Physical
Education. Coach Petersen helped lead Catawba to a four-year record
of 80-31 including a 40-18 conference mark. She currently stands 15th
and 13th in school-history for career three-pointers attempted and
three-pointers made respectively.
After serving as the Head Softball Coach at West Davidson High School
from 2001-2003 she moved back and began her teaching and coaching
career at Harrison. Coach Petersen earned her M.ED from Jacksonville
State University in 2006 and is entering her 24th year as a teacher.
During her tenure Coach Petersen has served as a Varsity Assistant
Coach for softball (14 years), soccer (5 years), basketball (5 years), and
lacrosse (7 years). Petersen also served as the Head Coach of the
softball program from 2008-2011 winning four-region titles and leading
the Lady Hoyas to a state final appearance in 2010. For her efforts
Coach Petersen was named GA Dugout Club Coach of the Year in 2010.
Petersen and her husband Corey have two sons Cole and Owen.
