Division 2

Eagles Win Again 21-6

The Eagles split their season series one game apiece but, own the tiebreaker if it comes down to these 2 teams.  The 24 hit, 4 walk attack was composed by a cadre of Eagles.  They include Craig V, Mike R, Chris P, Billy R, George V, Wilkin J, Brian G, Jeff L, Charlie F, Joe Raia, Mike L, Victor G and Chris R. Big RBI men were Charlie F and Chris R.

The usual steady pitching was by George Vansise (win) and Elvis Minaya (save). George went 5 inns before tiring and turned over the save to Elvis, who gave up 1 hit in a stellar closure relief appearance.  Another head-to-head tie breaker game is game #15, versus Dead Heads, and 3rd place.

Deadheads win! Theeee DEADHEADS  WIN!
This one wasn’t pretty but hey, a win is a win. The heads held on and survived a determined and resilient “Hooligans” squad that fielded only 9 players. Although the Heads never relinquished the lead the Hooligans kept battling back to tie the score, before finally succumbing in the 9th.  With the score tied once again, entering the bottom of the 8th the heads pushed across two runs, the second of which ( proved to be the game winner),  coming on a Double by Eli and a single from Sam. The “ Halogens “ scored one in the 9th and had a runner on second before finally having their lights turned off.
Thanks for a great game, fellas.    Heads have now rolled to 4 straight and in so doing, have climbed to.500 for the first time this season. Having been officially eliminated from contention for one of the top 4 spots , we now turn our sights to one of top 3 spots in Division 2B.
Hitting stars were as follows:
Orlando (4-4 with a Double), Sam (3-4 with game winning rbi), Eli(3-4 with a Homer, Double, sacrifice and game winning run)Eli has gone deep 5 times in the last 3 games. Next up- Angelo and the screaming (reference to the old T.V show-Coach) Eagles. Although we always play them close, we have yet to beat the Eagles since they came down to our division.

Good luck, guys.
