Division 2

In an ethical battle of seesaw between two teams in every inning you would ever see. The Knights won that battle in the 10^th inning.  17-14 against Thunder 2.0.  Knight Bobby pitched the complete game for the win.  Factor in the bad sun and bad bounces that contributed to both sides throughout the game. Every Knight got at least one hit.  Knight Phil Beers got 3. Chris Franklin and Rich Destefano got 4 and were a major factor in the 10^th when the Knights blew the game away with 6 Runs, but Thunder cameback with 3 and a long blast. With runners on, Knights' Sean MacLaughlin did a scary juggling act in front of the plate to end the game. This was a trying season for Knights, getting beaten down every week.  But a refreshing game like this is the reason we play every week. With all friends in this league

[AP, Kings Park Stadium, August 9, attendance 22]: The Eagles knocked off the Panthers in their second meeting with a split in the series. However, by runs differentials, the Birds own this tiebreaker if these 2 teams became tied in the standings

This was the Eagle's 6th straight win ever since Skipper Angelo challenged his squad with his "Drive for 6(wins)" slogan   On the Fan Appreciation Day, with the Stadium filled with families, friends and walk ins, the 21 hits, 3 walks attack was orchestrated by 10 players.      Leading the cadre of players were Mike R's 2-3, 2 runs, walk; Chris P went 3-4, run, 3 rbi; George V going 3-3, run, rbi; Charlie F 2-2, rbi;  Craig 2-4, 2 runs, 2 rbi; and Joe R 2-2, walk. The crowd was in awe as Joe went to stretch his single into a double, and with a great slide bringing the crowd to its feet, only to be out by 39 inches ?

Wilkie went 2-3, 2 runs, rbi and raised his BA to .565; while Victor contributed 3-3.   Not to be lost, but Louis V and Joe R have cleared DL status and returned to full-time play   Starter George Vansise (another win) went the distance holding the Panthers in check all game.       Today, with a Parlays win and a Thunder lost, the Eagles moved up to 2nd place, quite a feat after 3 blow out losses in 1H 26. Now, it remains to be seen if the Eagles can keep the streak going as it enters next weekends' Quarterfinals
