2/1/2011-  The Wizards have another catcher returning to help backstop the 2011 squad.  Larry Balkwill, Siena College, will be back to anchor the Wizards for this upcoming summer.  Balkwill, a 41st rounder of the Detroit Tigers in 2009, is the everyday catcher at Siena and will be expected to be a major part of the Saints this spring.

General Manager Todd Kirkey, "We are certainly excited to have Larry back.  With Larry and Kevin (Kevin Whitehead), this is the first time since I can remember where we have back two returning catchers who know the organization and have a ton of ability.  We have a nice righty/lefty combination with these two.  Larry, like Kevin, is not just a good player, but a great person.  We expect catcher to be a real good position for us this summer and Larry coming back after looking into a couple of other possibilities, should help us get to where we want to go this summer.  Both of these guys will have chances at DH as well on the days they don't catch due to their ability to hit."

Larry stayed with the Pavlot's last summer, Mike, his wife Suzanne, and their three children, Ryan, Jenna and Tyler.
