WHY WE DO IT!

Did you know that there are, according to the Semi-Pro HQ, over eight-hundred teams in the United States alone that refer to themselves as semi-pro, minor league, professional development, senior amateur, or adult amateur in over sixty different leagues? These players usually have played high school or college ball, and they want to continue competing after their eligibility has been exhausted. The vast majority of these players do not get paid to play ... they truly compete for the love of the game. They purchase their own equipment, pay for their own transportation/lodging to/from games and home game expenses.

This often overlooked level of football is the reason we decided eight (8) years ago to bring the champions of their respective leagues together in one super extravaganzathus the Sunshine Bowl Super Weekend.  We see, firsthand, the dedication, determination, sacrifices and injuries these young men endure just to pursue their dreams of playing at the next level.  For some, this is the next level.  With them in mind, we wanted to make the public aware of these players and showcase their tremendous athletic abilities and quality of play. So,...

On January 12-17, 2011, we will present our ninth (9th) SUPER WEEKEND series of championships and bowl games for a total of ten (10) minor league games plus an International All Star Game an Open Pro Combine and more.
