Cape Fear Avenges Earlier Loss to the Lady Dolphins

Wilmington, NC - After an earlier win by the Lady Dolphins to upset Cape Fear Community College, who was undefeated at the time, the Sea Devils got revenge on their rival and downed BCC 86-63 on February 27, a rescheduled game due to inclement weather.  Cape Fear (17-7) used an 18-3 run early in the first half to build a 20-5 lead, but the Lady Dolphins (10-16) stormed back, led by the shooting of Baylee Simpson, to cut the deficit to 29-24 with about six minutes remaining in the half.  CFCC took back control and used another run to take a 47-29 lead into halftime.  Cape Fear's Gilliam took over inside in the second half and scored 18 points to lead the Sea Devils to victory.  

For the Lady Dolphins, Kima Sidberry led the scoring with 18 points and Bailey Simpson added 14, including 4 3-pointers.  Crystal Hicks and Tyesha McLean, each had 7 points.

The Dolphins will head to Raleigh on Thursday, for the first round of the NJCAA Region X Tournament at Wake Tech CC and will face Guilford Technical Community College at 7:00 PM.
