Hong Kong Holiday Tournament

The Titans traveled to Hong Kong for the 45th annual Hong Kong International Holiday Tournament.  Every year the Titans face tough competiticion in each game playing against Hong Kong International (HKIS), Singapore American (SAS), Bangkok American (ASB), Taipei American and ASIJ.  This year's tournament tourned out in very similar fashion as last year.  

 

The Titans looked sharp to open the tournament against the host HKIS Dragons building the big lead in the first half.  The Titans struggled in the second and went on to lose.  In the opening two days, the Titans lost all 5 games but it did not break their spirit. Seeded as the 6th seed, the Titans faced the 3rd seed ASB, who they had lost to by 30 two night before.  The Titans were relentless in their pursuit of an upset and came out victorious 51-49.  The still had upset on their minds when they squared off versus the number two seed SAS.  The Titans hung tough all game, keeping pace with SAS and taking them to overtime.  In the end they couldn't muster enough and fell 57-61.  Playing for 3rd place, the Titans faced rival ASIJ.  The previous night they had lost by 10 to the Mustangs but this night the Titans were on top of their game and took thrid place 52-49.  

 

Ryoya Wakamatsu was named to the All-Tournament team and Eamon Collins was crowned champion of the 3 Point Shootout.
