Labor Day usually brings us to a crossroads in time for all with the end of summer upon us. For most, it's time to put away the bathing speedos, the SPF 55 spray cans, the golf clubs and those cheating pencils. For a true Gorilla it's time to awake from hockey hibernation which means shedding a few of those extra pounds, cleaning out (maybe finding?) the hockey gear and Green and White unis hidden in the basement since last March and looking forward to a brand new season of Gorilla hockey.
After 40 years it's still doesn't get old for Ira and his pack of hairy apes.
Gorilla Party, Friday, September 27 - Woody Freiman has generously agreed to host a 'Gathering of Gorillas' at is family's apartment located at 380 Riverside Drive @ 110 Street (Apt 3J) on the Upper West Side. It will be nice to get the crew together and celebrate over some food and drink the last 40 years. I'll have more details on the gathering over the next 2 weeks but for now please let me know if you will be showing up (we'll probably start around 6:30).
Still Crazy after 40 Years Gorilla Gathering!!!!!!!
This note is to remind all that The Gitlers Gorillas will assemble for a Simian Gathering where there will be a fair amount of chest pounding as they celebrate 40 their 40 years of ice hockey history.
We will be descending on Woody Freiman's apartment (
380 Riverside Drive @ 110 Street, Apt 3J) on the Upper West Side beginning at 6:30 PM next Friday, September 27. If anyone needs assistance with directions (mass taransit or driving) please let me know.
You don't need to bring anything except yourself, your Gorilla state of mind and an appetite. Food, drink and dessert will be served to all those who can make it. I am expecting a good size crowd and a couple of 'out of towners' who are part of Gorilla history.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE!!! OOH-OOH-OOH
