The Lady Dolphins continued their hot February winning their 5th straight at home and 6 out of the last seven games on Sophomore Day with a 65 - 50 win over Spartanburg Methodist. Early foul trouble sent the bench to work early. Anshonee Addison (Kingston HS) hit two back to back three pointers to open up a 9 point lead. Two steals by Asha Graham ( E. Bladen HS) lead to transitions baskets to build the lead to 13. AJ Mays (N. Brunswick HS) directed the offense and Freshman Hailey Czigler (White Oak) controlled the board. Coach Gaughan credits the bench for their efforts. "With three starters in foul trouble early our bench provided the spark and energy needed tonight. They showed how far they have come this year. They executed and defended at a high level." After half Spartanburg Methodist made a 10 - 0 run for a 41-40 lead. BCC responded and never trailed again. Freshman Brianna Baham (Laney HS) leads all scorers with 22 points. Sophomore Courtney Pearsall (Clinton HS) had 13 points. All but one Lady Dolphin reached the scoring column. After the game Courtney Pearsall (Clinton HS), Baylee Simpson (T.A.Williams), Monica Smalls (St. James HS) and Jasmine Corbett (Ashley HS) were honored.
