Bolivia, NC - The Brunswick Community College Baseball Team swept the Lancers of Lenoir Community College over the weekend's three-game series, 9-1, 4-3, 1-0, in Kinston, NC.

In the first game, the Dolphins dominated the Lancers over eight innings with three RBI's by freshman First Baseman Chase Gehringer, who also homered in the eighth inning.  Pitching for the Dolphins was Alex Ministeri, from Merrimac, MA, who allowed no earned runs, two walks, six hits and struck out two over eight innings.  Addison Futrell had a two-run homerun in the fourth inning.  Casey Fries hit a double in the eighth scoring Andrew Knight.

In the second game Saturday, BCC secured the win after several lead changes with the pitching of freshman Hunter Absher, from Seaford, DE.  He pitched four shutout innings, struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits.

Sunday's game started earlier than scheduled due to the impending inclement weather.  With the team work of Shawn Singletary and Josh Walker at the mound, the two pitchers allowed no earned runs, and the Dolphins secured the lead late in the eighth inning after plating Bradford Lail.

The Dolphins return to Founders Field on Thursday, March 20th, to host the Herkimer Generals from Herkimer, New York.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
