Dolphin Athletics Golf Tournament Huge Success

The Brunswick Community College Athletic Department held its first annual Dolphin Athletics Golf Tournament on August 24th at Ocean Ridge Plantation in Ocean Isle Beach. The 2013 event was a great success with over 90 golfers participating and many area businesses sponsoring the event. The event helped raise funds to provide athletic scholarships to BCC students as well as to help athletic program costs. Robbie Allen, Athletic Director, said "It'll help these student-athletes who want to come to us but can't afford to come." Beyond that, Allen said providing financial assistance is the right thing to do for student-athletes who give so much back to the college and community. " It's nice to be able to help them out a little bit," he said.

This year's tournament winners were: First Place-Greg White, Adam Nixon, Matt Abbott, Mitch Garner; Second Place-Mike Gildea, Holden Patterson, Landon Patterson; Third Place-Charlie Thompson, Charles Morris, D Force, David Caplan.
