Bolivia, NC - The Dolphins (17-9, 6-1) continue to hold onto first place in Region X Division I after beating USC-Salkahatchie at home on Saturday 99-90. The Dolphins have won 8 of their last 9 games and hope to keep that momentum going as they head towards playoffs with only four games left in the regular season.
In Saturday's game, the Dolphins were down at the half 38-44, and remained that way until four minutes remained in the game. At one point in the second half, the Dolphins were down by as many as 15, but rallied in the final minutes to secure the win. The weak defense of the Indians sent BCC to the free throw line often in the second half and BCC used it well by scoring 32 points at the line. Freshman JacQues Chambers had a career and season high 23 points, and added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Kalil Stuart had 16 points, and freshman guard Taylor Buffkin scored 15 and was 5-5 from the line. Cam Jones, Chris Pompey, Montez Loman, and Jerran Foster each contributed 11 points.
Up next for the Dolphins is a home game Saturday, February 15th, against Clinton Junior College (14-5, 3-2). Tip off is at 4:00 PM.
