Eagles Win Home Opener over Newbury Park

The Eagles are tough to beat at home.  They extended their home winning streak to 9 straight dating all the way back to 7 March 2009 when they lost to La Costa Canyon.  The Eagles jumped on Newbury Park early with 3 goals in less than 2 minutes and took a convincing 6-2 lead into the 2nd quarter.  The Eagles scored 2 more in the 2nd quarter to take a commanding 8-2 lead into halftime.  Oak Park lost some intensity and focus in the second half, allowing Newbury park three late 4th quarter goals but still posted a convincing 9-7 win.  Tommy Evans had a huge game with 4 goals and 2 assists.  Grant Pestano had 2 goals and an assist while Ryan Wiese netted one goal and added an assist.   Austin Toyama and Grant Consoletti each added a goal to round out the Eagles scoring.
