Malibu played a patient, fundamentally sound game and came away with a convincing 11-7 victory at Oak Park.  The Eagles displayed sloppy stick skills and undisciplined defense all day and lost an important early season league game.  Malibu outscored OP in all but the 1st quarter where the Eagles led 3-2.  Two goals in the last 2 minutes before halftime increased the Malibu lead to 6-4 and they cruised the rest of the way to an 11-7 win.  Tommy Evans led all Eagles scorers with 4 goals and an assist, Austin Toyama, Grant Pestano and Marty Kerns each added a goal in the loss.
