In a rematch of last season's Class 3A state semifinal, No. 13 Poly got past Milford Mill Academy, 44-41. University of Albany recruit Khephera Stokes (In the picture on the right) led all scorers with 27 points for the Engineers (7-3).
Stokes scored 12 points in the third quarter for the two-time reigning Baltimore City Division I champs, who outscored the two-time defending Class 3A champ Millers, 16-9, to take a 32-29 advantage. Milford Mill, which defeated Poly, 61-46, in last season's 3A final four at SECU Arena.
The Engineers return to Morgan Saturday for a match with last season's Class 2A state semifinalist Western Tech. Milford Mill meets Western Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
