Madison Driskill started taking lessons from me five years ago when she was just starting eight grade. I have all my students (Adult & Juniors) fill out a Information sheet which has two questions on it What are your School Goals? and What are your Tennis Goals? then through out my lessons with my students we talk about these goals. Madison submitted to me at our second lessons the following
Goals: Get straight A+ in School and graduate at the top of my class and play Varsity Tennis four years in a row. During Madison’s first year
of lessons I started the Juniors Cactus Stars Tennis Team and Madison was one of are key players. The Cactus Stars play one tournament
a month mostly are own little tournaments but we do play in some USTA tournaments and Junior Team Tennis in the Tucson Area. Madison is currently playing for the 18 and under Cactus Stars Team. Madison is a very talented tennis player and her Junior Year I asked if she wanted to move to the next level of play? I would get her a Coach that would take her to the Division 1 College Level if that’s what she wanted. Madison, said to me “ I love playing tennis and I will play and love the game all my life, but my other goal is more important to me and that comes first: Plus I still have plenty to learn from you Coach Dan”
The Cactus Stars have a Creed : WINNING IS GIVING -- Winning is giving your best self away Winning is serving with grace every day
You’ll know that you won when your friends say it’s true “ I like who I am, when I’m around you. The losers keep betting that winning is getting But there’s one of God’s laws that they keep forgetting And this is the Law you can live and believe the more that you give the
more you’ll receive. Madison’s winning attitude made the Cactus Stars more Fun because we like who we are when where around her.
Madison Graduated this Year from Tanque Verde High School where she played Varsity Tennis all four years and YES she was Number 1 in her class. Because her SAT and ACT where so high she had scholarship offers from Division 1 Schools all over the country. Madison accepted a scholarship to the University of Arizona in there honors program.
Madison will bring her Winning Attitude to U of A and
